The property itself was a beautiful modern building, really comfortable to sit in and with great facilities. The pool area was calm and relaxing with very comfortable loungers. Although I didn’t make use of the gym during my stay it was the best hotel gym I have ever come across. The food was all around good, but the stand-out was the breakfast. In comparison to other hotel breakfasts I have tried in Bolivia and other South American countries, the breakfast in Met Hotel leads by a mile. All of this was fabulous but what really made my stay stand out was the staff. I arrived to stay after a medical scare and as a result I was on a very strict diet. The staff made sure to accommodate me as much as possible with these restrictions, as well as everything else we asked for during our stay. The receptionists all spoke perfect English also which made communication simple. Above all, the staff made my mother and I feel as though we were special guests in the hotel with their level of attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism. I would recommend to anyone travelling to La Paz, particularly if you are interested in staying outside of the busy city centre as there are plenty of things to do and good restaurants options in the Calacoto area where the hotel is located.

I would have liked if there were more comfortable areas in the hotel to sit and relax other than in my room, as the couches in the lobby are quite close to the main door and there can be a breeze - but overall a very minor complaint in an otherwise perfect stay!

Staying at the Met was the best decision we made while traveling in South America. The hotel is just over a year old and has all the amenities for you to relax and enjoy a few calm days. We were truly blown away! The staff is absolutely incredible, being so nice and personal, and taking care of any issues right away even if it has nothing to do with the hotel. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast, that had an amazing Parfait and the best French Toasts I've eaten in a hotel. I witnessed quality in other details like the staff measuring the pool levels and changing the orange juice at breakfast because it was too watery. The pool and spa area is dreamy, and the gym is huge! The bedroom was nice with great soundproofing and with a mountain view. It's located in south La Paz and while staying in the city center has its advantages, this area is much newer, calmer, nicer, with many great restaurants nearby, such as the ones at the most technologically advanced building of the city. I would only return to this hotel if ever back at La Paz.

We have just finished staying here for 4 nights and we could not fault it. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful, especially Ernesto who went above and beyond. He is incredibly good at his job and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded to a king room as it was our honeymoon and also got a free cake, which was a lovely touch. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced(we ate there every night). The breakfast was great, all the usual stuff, fruit, pastries, bread ect but you could also order eggs and omelettes. There were also two types of pancakes and french toast. Free tea, coffee and water all day. You get some free water in the room daily and a little chocolate. We even got some Christmas biscuits as we were there over Christmas. The gym was the best equipped hotel gym we have ever used. The spa area was beautiful and I also had a massage which was fantastic ( 60 dollars for a 90 min sports massage). My husband did the death road mountain biking trip and I stayed in the hotel for the day, it was such a relaxing day after 6 weeks travelling. The hotel is located around 20-30 minutes outside of the centre. This was perfect for us as it was in a quieter area and we got in easily using a combination of Uber and the cable cars (which is a must do in la Paz). We absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in la Paz.

Nothing at all

We stayed here towards the end of a long backpacking trip as a treat to ourselves. This really is an exceptional five star hotel with a great attention to detail. We were given a complementary card and cake for our engagement and the hotel and restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate vegan food. The hotel itself is pleasant and stylish in the ilk of a modern boutique hotel, but truly our stay was made by the warmth and friendliness of the staff. As an aside, incidentally the hotel has the best ever hotel gym I’ve been to, it was refreshing to have good high quality equipment and heavier weights.

The location isn’t for everyone and it is far from the main touristic and city centres. We can’t fault the effort the hotel went to, to accommodate vegan dietaries. They did this so well and we felt bad for being ‘difficult’ - however a few simple changes to breakfast and the room service menu would have just made this a bit more straightforward. The head chef did so well and was so thoughtful with options it’s almost a shame they’re not typically on the menu to give it more variety and make it more inclusive.

One of the best hotels we ever stayed in. We extended our stay from 3 days to 9days. Where to Beginn... the food is incredible. From the breakfast to a la carte lunch / dinner. I was looking forward every day to eat :) they even make you a barista coffee! The area is probably the best to stay in, it's safe and nice. You can walk to shops. We were so glad we didn't stay downtown. The staff is kind and helpful, excellent service. The facilities are beautiful and the gym is well equipped with lots of machines and weights. Internet is fast and we could work every day from the restaurant space which has plugs and comfortable tables so it was perfect for us as we were working. The room was amazing to sleep in and the cleaning lady did an amazing job it was always spotless clean and she left water and chocolates in the room. They helped us also to find a driver because we came from peru, hilver, who was really amazing. He also brought us to uyuni and from uyuni to Chile. Excellent experience.

Nice, attentive staff who make you feel like home. Beautiful, modern building with great Scandinavian design. Good breakfast. Breathtaking view from the rooftop. Easy and comfortable transportation to and from airport. Very good restaurants in the area (try Ancestral if you are here). I would 100% recommend this hotel.

Only small things. Considering you are in Bolivia, where tourism is a very new concept, I think this hotel is still a very good choice. Some things that could improve: -Food in the restaurant was average and a bit overpriced. -We had to ask about the complementary massage included in our reservation. -The pool area was nice, but it could have been warmer. - The hotel design is beautiful, but the build quality is not good, the building shows signs of wear and tear.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with really great service. The food at the hotel restaurant is good and the gym is probably one of the best equipped hotel gyms I’ve ever seen. We had a 30 minute free massage included in our stay however this was very basic and she didn’t really seem to know what she was doing so we didn’t rush to book any additional spa treatments. Whilst this hotel is out of the centre of La Paz, we really struggled to find nice hotel options more towards the centre and it was also nice to be a bit further away from the craziness of the city centre. We left our luggage at the hotel for a few days whilst we went to the Salt flats, which was no problem. The hotel offers a breakfast box to take away if you have an early start with options to choose from which was really nice.

Nothing to mention

We liked the decor and facilities in this hotels. The rooms (2 separate occasions), were very spacious with comfortable beds. We had some issues when we initially arrived, but we felt that the management truly cared and did everything to make us feel happy and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was my partner's birthday and he even got a beautifully decorated and delicious cake. Despite the few little problems we experienced, we liked the place and its facilities very much, so I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. And in fact, it was our first choice when we needed accommodation in La Paz on another occasion. Also, Met hotel is close to some of the best restaurants in the town.

All things that we didn't like were addressed by the staff and management.

Our stay at the Met was absolutely perfect. The pool/jacuzzi/spa area was fantastic, our room was amazing, the bed was SO comfortable and massive! The food at the restaurant was 10/10 as well - can’t fault this hotel at all! The staff were also super friendly!

Nothing at all ☺️ we would come back here in a heartbeat! (Actually maybe just one thing, have a few more options on the wine list, but the cocktails were amazing!)

Very modern and tidy hotel/rooms, it all felt brand new. Staff were excellent, one even refused to take a tip from me as they automatically include it in the room service charges. Check in staff all spoke English, some restaurant staff did not. Restaurant very quiet, but the food was great. Very good hotel.

Main thing to know is that it's not in the city centre, although the old city of La Paz is a little dodgy. Still had plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I had to depart super early due to a citywide protest and they offered me a takeaway breakfast, but it was nowhere to be seen the next morning.
