Language barrier

The whole room was of high quality, specially the towels and bedlinen. The restaurant had amazing food and Spot on waiters. We didn’t book the breakfast, but we regretted it after tasting the pizza and mouse au chocolate of the restaurant (super tasty!!!). The view, even Not being an ocean view due to the property’s location, was spectacular overlooking the mountain landscape of rio. The staff always left the room very clean and quickly replaced water bottles we consumed in the refrigerator. The bathroom is very spacious for putting up cosmetic products etc. The shower pressure was also amazing as it was strong! You could easily wash off your shampoo and beach sand.

The stay was all in all amazing, however a big downside was that the walls are very very thin. You could hear your neighbors or ppl waiting for the elevator, as if they were standing in your room. Our neighbors usually came back in to their room rather late and talked a lot (as they should of course), but due to the thin walls it made it difficult to fall a sleep. As good as the shower pressure was the temperature regulation of the sinkwater was unpleasant. If you wanted cold water, water barely came out the sink. I would expect from such a luxurious hotel at that price point, not to have such thin walls as it gives the illusion to lack of privacy and peace.

The hotel is in a premier location with a sea beach at a distance of 100 meters and the rooms are really good with a window view (not a sea view). The hotel staff are very professional and welcoming for every query and try to help you in every possible way. The cleaning staff is really good and make sure that your room is clean every day. There is a small refrigerator, TV, and central AC in every room. The reception service is good and you can contact them any time for anything. There is a free gym and pool facility in the hotel which makes your stay very comfortable as well as enjoyable

I am a vegetarian and found fewer food options in the area but if you can research properly during travel planning you can find some good vegetarian options

This is a very nice hotel, minutes away from the beach and within waking distance of bars and restaurants. Bear in mind that the location is far away from most of the attractions in Rio, but the local beach is terrific. Breakfast is pretty good.

Our room lacked a bedside lamp and we got a room with a door that could be used for groups sleeping in adjoining rooms, which compromised privacy due to noise from the neighbour.

Beautiful and 20 second walk from the beach. Spoke good English. A week there was good. Views were perfect. Steam room was good, gym was good. Loved it. 100% recommend the full city tour they promote at reception. 100% the safest and most beautiful area in Rio. Uber is cheap and since I had brilliant WiFi I got it everywhere.

Secret charge of £20 for the water after I left and wasn’t allowed guests unless I paid more.

Everything! Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, pool and view were amazing. The staff so kindly upgraded my room as well as I was staying over the weekend of my birthday so that definitely helped make my birthday more special. Location was perfect right on the beach in Barra, loved being so close to the sea and definitely preferred this beach over Copacabana as less crowded and more peaceful. Definitely will be coming back.

I did NOT like the fact the water provided was not Free, and the only way you knew that is if you bothered to scan a small QR code (which I'm certain nobody does!) I didn't find out until check out I owed the hotel nearly £80 in bottled water charges. DISGUSTING! The staff at reception should tell guests this on arrival, its really poor not to and catching people out like this. Not happy.

Clean and staff was friendly. Comfortable beds. Nice location. Breakfast was good.

Wi-fi was not fast and re login everyday was needed, which is not an issue but it’s not cool. Menu at the restaurant was short, not to many options.

My friend and I had a delightful stay at the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop pool, which was nice and warm. The rooms were cleaned and tidy each morning, which was a nice touch. We also dined at the Italian restaurant inside and found the food to be delicious with a variety of meals to choose from. The staff were incredibly friendly, and it was a relief that everyone spoke English.

Barra is a wonderful place to stay, but one minor inconvenience is that during peak hours, you can get stuck in traffic if you want to go to Ipanema, Copacabana, or the city. Other than that, it's a great area.

Very clean hotel with a beautiful sea view room. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. The heated pool, gym, and sauna on the rooftop offer a stunning, breathtaking view. The staff was very friendly and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Located in a very safe area of Rio, I highly recommend this hotel.
