The stay at this hotel in São Paulo was overall very pleasant. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was excellent — fresh, abundant, and with a nice variety to start the day right. The location is also a big plus: it’s very close to many of the city’s main attractions, making it easy to explore without long commutes. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby, offering delicious food at very reasonable prices.

The surroundings are not the most picturesque, and the atmosphere outside can feel a bit unsafe, especially at night. It's NOT something the hotel can control, but it’s worth noting for those expecting a peaceful or upscale environment. Noise from the street — mostly people partying late — could be heard during the night, so light sleepers might want to take that into account. While the hotel itself provides comfort and good service, the external setting reflects the typical urban chaos of São Paulo.

Hotel was clean. The maids do a good job cleaning the rooms daily. The breakfast was great, with a wide variety of foods. Sink/shower works great, air conditioner worked great. Room was pretty spacious and comfortable. Very nice hotel for a great price in the city center.

District of the city was a bit uneasy, abandoned buildings out of the view and a lot of homeless people roaming the streets. Other than that, everything was fine. Not really the fault of the hotel however.

I like the fact that they were speaking English, at the reception they are friendly even recommend some nice restaurants to go to and places to visit in their area. We also complain about something in the room when we arrived and they quickly changed us and put us to another room and apologies politely. They know how to treat customers

Their breakfast is good but if they can have more options that will be better especially on hot breakfast

Congrats to all Cinelandia's staff! Since the beginning, they were polite, helpful and made us feel comfortable with everything. The rooms were fair for the price we had paid and good enough for us to recovery from Sao Paulo's Carnaval at night. The breakfast was tasty and we didn't miss anything. When I go back to Sao Paulo, I'm definitely staying again at Cinelandia Hotel.

Maybe the neighborhood isn't the best. Sao Paulo's historical center is full of people and we could hear some noise and electronic music all night. There are a lot of people living on the streets, and it is necessary to be aware because it is usual cellphone robbery. In fact, those things didn't frustrate my overall experience, however, it is necessary to tell that you always have to keep your eyes on your belongings.

Rooms were great, price was very good, breakfast was good (though I wish it had been more “local”, it was a bit generic), and it is pretty close to everything.

Sadly, the neighborhood is not that great. I did not feel comfortable leaving at night because it felt so sketchy, and even during the day it’s not great. I feel bad because the hotel has no control over this, but it is the truth. Also, the wifi could have been faster.

The hotel is in a good central location and I had a large room and very quiet which I asked for. And air-conditioned was not right over the bed like some hotels so much better. The staff were very friendly and helpful when needed. And the rooms were kept very clean.

The breakfast could have more variety, but the coffee I really liked.

With the hotel everything in fine, clean, food service and good breakfast.

Location is really really dangerous. You'll see many things in front of you.

Location and breakfast

Good place located right in the centre of São Paulo. All sorts of stores and restaurants in the adjoining neighbourhood. The metro is close by, and during the day lots of people are walking around. The room is small, but comfy enough. The staff are friendly, but bring a translator if you cannot speak Portuguese. Breakfast was good, and the wifi strong enough.

As others have stated, the neighbourhood is not for everyone, especially at night. That said, I had absolutely no problem with the area and you probably will not have any either. Yes, lots of homeless walking around and some other characters, but approximately none of them even bothered to look at me, so you should not worry. However, if you are a scardy-cat, maybe the centre of São Paulo is not for you, in ANY hotel. I thought it was fine, and I liked all of the nearby places to eat.
