The staff were friendly and helpful, although English wasn’t widely spoken. They often relied on Google Translate to communicate, which worked well enough. Good water pressure and hot shower. Breakfast was a good selection.

On arrival I was allocated a room that was in the rear and was dark with no natural light so asked for a change. The reception staff were very good and I was given a very good room at the end of a corridor with views to the front and side. The included buffet breakfast was very good with a wide selection. I was told by the taxi driver the surrounding area was unsafe at night but I did not feel so although stayed close to hotel. The location was otherwise very good for exploring the city during the day with easy walking distance to metro stations and to the Japanese district. When visiting the Meridien Hotel to join a day tour I was happy I booked this property as much more to explore that in the modern area around the big hotels

Nice room, comfortable beds, very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast is okay but a little on the weak side. One thing I have noticed about almost all of the hotels we have stayed at in Brazil is that the scrambled eggs are very wet. I don't like runny eggs.

The hotel is old and in need of an update. The location is the biggest problem. This hotel is located in an area known as Cracklandia, high crime and drug activity.

The breakfast is wonderful. However, it would be nice to have some light menu changes everyday.

I wish the staff speak English. The ground floor room I had smelt a bit mouldy. The concierge told me the hotel was full.

My room was different from other rooms in the sense its sliding door doesn't block hallway noise. I'm noise sensitive therefore that's a negative. Other rooms appear to have conventional door therefore it block hallway noise better

I really like the location in the heart of the historical centre, near to restaurants, street Market, and touristic attractions.
