Good customer service ! Front desk staff are excellent and very helpful! Breakfast was great !

The extea charge at check out " extra charge for the government " , which is a daily fee per person ! This was not disclosed when i booked the hotel .

Perfect location, great beach & pool area, very good food, most of the staff friendly (at least after some days in the hotel the warm up…)

-sport facilities (minigolf, tennis, gym) are pretty old and would definitely need a make-over/renovation - why is it allowed that sunbeds at the pool are reserved and blocked by guests with towels at 7am for the whole day but nobody ever shows up/they come at 3pm to use the sunbeds for only 10min ? - take care that your hotel towels don’t get stolen while you are swimming as you have to pay for them in case they get lost. Happened to us, but we were lucky enough to watch it and stop the guy running away with the towel. Apparently the hotel can’t do nothing against these criminal guests even with a picture of them… - our sunscreen was stolen by an old german lady at the pool area while we were swimming in the pool.

The staff extraordinary . All at reception go well beyond the call of duty to assure your comfort . The kindness and courtesy priceless . Brilliant buffet breakfast : same every day , but enough variety that one can mix it up and have diff b’fast each day - if wish . Massage was delightful . Location , location , location ! Three pools to choose from : now it was the Windy season - chose my pool accordingly . Morabeza is the original , it is the oldest hotel on Sal . The architecture harks back to bygone eras , she is not the latest - greatest - shiniest - hippest place : she is an old lady with all her charms .

Not every room has Wi-Fi : but That gives a great opportunity to pick up a book from the Hotel’s extensive Library :) So , no - even the lack of Wi-Fi in certain rooms I did not mind .

Loved this hotel! Beautiful and well run. The room was immaculate, spacious and well appointed. The grounds are well kept with 3 swimming pools. The location couldn't be better with a clean beach and turquoise sea directly in front, and 2mins walk from the main walking street. The place is so well kept you its hard to believe that this was the original hotel on Sal built years ago. A much better option than all the bland generic All Inclusive hotels up the beach.

Breakfast was AMAZING, however a little on the pricy side if not included in your room rate, especially for kids.

Location was excellent for walking into Santa Maria and very close to the beach. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Room had everything I needed for my stay (kettle, fridge & air conditioning as it was very hot/humid). Breakfast buffet was good, had lots of choice, beware the small birds will try to eat your food if you're not looking! The hotel has guest services, which run daily activities and can borrow beach towels from them but I didn't use these services during my short stay. The hotel offers transfer to and from the airport but you have to book this in advance; it is convenient and a good price. They also offer luggage storage after check-out and kindly let me use the courtesy room for a quick shower before my flight home in the evening.

It was quite easy for ants to get into the room but I don't think there's any way of stopping them. The room did have a spray to use if they did become a nuisance.

Hotel Morabeza was situated in beautiful grounds, in a central location near to small shops and local market. There was a choice of ceiling fan or air conditioner in the room and wi-fi was provided plus tea and coffee making facilities and small fridge. The lovely beach was just a couple of minutes' walk away. The hotel had a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere and provided a buffet breakfast with a wide variety of food, cooked or cold with pastries and muffins freshly baked on the premises. The food provided in the evening was also very good. The staff were always polite and helpful. Any small complaint was dealt with almost immediately. We particularly enjoyed the Saturday evening entertainment at the hotel of a live Cabo Verdian band and and display of Cabo Verdian dancing. The hotel kept in touch with us after we made the booking to let us know that we could contact them for any qyeries, and they booked a taxi fo transfer us from the airport. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the area.

Sorry but the electric plug sockets were almost inaccessible, being situated behine a dressing table with a fixed shelf. This made it difficult to plug in laptop.

Excellent breakfast spread with a nice mix of familiar and Cabo Verdean dishes each morning. Loved the banana fritters that I treated like pancakes/waffles:) Two coffee machines so never any waits, staff was super attentive clearing plates. Excellent value

n/a everything was wonderful and would be happy to return. Beach bar area was under construction which we knew ahead of time so got a great deal as a result. I'm sure it'll be fantastic when finished with renovations

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The workers kept the grounds clean and well maintained. I saw them sweeping the cobblestones and the surrounding areas every day, cleaning the pools, and taking care of the gardens. One could tell how much emphasis the management puts on cleanliness and maintaining the grounds. All the staff were very nice and friendly and greeted me every day. Loved that there were different restaurant choices, either at the beach or at the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and the variety of breakfast foods available. Also, I appreciated that there is a cash machine in the lobby and didn’t have to go out and find an ATM machine to withdraw cash.

I only wished the hotel would invest a little more on the gym. It definitely needs new equipment. All equipment were old and didn’t work well. I understand that maybe that’s not a priority for them but for those of us who are gym buffs and like to workout on vacation, we expect equipment in working condition. In addition, I didn’t like that the hotel still uses keys instead of card keys. I had to leave my keys at front desk every time I went out because I didn’t want to carry it with me or didn’t want to lose it.

The hotel staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and courtesy, contributing to an overall positive experience. The hotel's location was highly convenient and offered easy access to various amenities. The hotel's aesthetic appeal and well-maintained facilities further enhanced the overall experience.

I did not find anything particularly negative about the hotel, but it was not the most modern one I have stayed in.

nice hotel and rooms with great pools! The beach was gorgeous. Buffet breakfast was nice and had soy milk for vegans! The restaurants has a couple of vegan options too.

There were a lot of bugs (ants, spiders and roaches) in my room!
