Spacious, modern and comfortable rooms. Great cleaning service on a daily basis. Delicious breakfast with various choices. Super friendly staff and very helpful support by Dory for clarifying important details beforehand and organizing individual activities and transfers. Great location, 2 min walk from the most beautiful beach on Sal. Would highly recommend for an individual stay on Sal, instead of resort holidays.

Only in case you have a light sleep and want to rest before midnight: be aware of the loud music and noises until midnight, due to the restaurant / bar / club downstairs. However, that was clearly communicated beforehand and did not bother us. More hangers and hooks in the apartment (for towels, jackets) would have been even better.

Ocean it's a lovely happy place to stay for a few days in the centre of Santa Maria. And the staff are very lovely and welcoming always have warm friendly smiles.xx😊 Thank you to the staff during breakfast mainly the guy making my coffee sorry forgot the names. William thnx for teaching me dance Samba and the guy for the cocktails 🍸 they were lovely.

The food sometimes it's hit and miss when it's busy .l had a very salty pasta dish which l didn't eat .But one of the guys was so understanding when l told him l was still hungry and made me a sandwich. Which l thought it was a lovely gesture. I had a bit of a misunderstanding with another bottle if wine which was in my room which l had brought from outside and they wanted to charge me for it.But it took a lot of explaining and was later resolved. But l must say all the staff were very lovely. Thank you for making my stay lovely😊

Restaurant staff slow. As an example, ordered a chocolate cake one time, waited 20 minutes, then staff came and told me they were out of cake and asked me to just pick something else (very disappointing my time was not valued). Recommendation: they had a breakfast specifically called "American" which featured "American pancakes", but they were actually European crepes versus pancakes. Either serve actual American pancakes (preferred) or change the name from American breakfast to something else so guests don't order one thing, and get something else instead. Recommendation: Add an iron and ironing board to the rooms. Recommendation: perhaps a few more tv channels

Hotel: Ocean Suites is much more than a hotel. The service and attention that you as a customer receive every day is great🤩. I stayed in room 2 (for me one of the nicest room)😌. The room was large, with good working air conditioning and a beautiful view of the popular square and main street.The servers were friendly one by one and want to do everything for you "NO STRESS". And every evening there is live music downstairs in the restaurant with good music. You dance💃🏾 until you can't feel your feet anymore (haha). For your safety, a security guard is present every night and after an evening out he will bring you safely to the entrance so that you can safely return to your room. Breakfast ,lunch and diner: Every morning I could choose between 3 different breakfast menus (American🥓, Cape Verde🫘 and Mediterranean🍅). All three were tasty and you get a lot! You can also enjoy a delicious meal there (lunch and dinner). Try their burger🍔 (one of the tastiest burgers in Cabo Verde!)🤌🏽.  The beach and the famous pier are a 3-minute walk from the hotel! All famous cafes and restaurants are a 5 or 6 minute walk from the hotel. If you want to save money, book all activities through Dorry, which will save you 10 to 20 euros per excursion. And you can also arrange your transport to and from the airport through Dorry. Ocean Suites is for me the best hotel in Santa Maria! Adilson makes the best coffee☕️ for you in the morning. Janete serves you with her beautiful smile in the evening 😍(She has the most beautiful curls I had ever seen) And Flavio teaches you the coolest dance moves every evening💃🏾. Thank you Dorry for everything and I will definitely be back❤️❤️!!

Everything was just perfect

The Ocean Suites was such a delight to stay at. The staff were amazing and friendly. The entertainment was varied with diffent genre's of music on most nights. The food options were good and competitively priced and off excellent quality. I stayed in the Santa Maria suite which was beautifully decorated in local culture themes, ornaments and pictures. A stones throw away to the beach and other local attractions......

Everything was so above expectations.  It started when we checked in with a welcome drink. The room has so many unique details and is really spacious. Every morning, an à la carte breakfast was served in the restaurant, which was excellent! During the day, it is nicely calm outside. In the evening, there was a really nice atmosphere in the bar, with good music and people and staff dancing. Also, the food for dinner was excellent! (with discount!) The hotel is only a few meters away from the beach, and they provide beach towels. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Helton who was there every morning with a friendly smile and a nice chat.

I enjoyed every single moment there! The great location and comfort of the suite, the early morning peace and quiet of the Cafe where a delicious breakfast was served by the lovely staff members (loved the Cachupa!) and the great energy of those working there in the evening. The reception went above and beyond, a special thanks goes to Dory for looking so well after me and making me feel welcome. The place is also very safe as there is a security team looking after guests. So no stress, just go and enjoy!

Great location, very unique and fun atmosphere! Staff was very helpful and it was all a comfortable environment.

Nothing that we didn’t like about the property. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t get in until almost 3am so unfortunately we arrived and nobody was there to check us in. Thank goodness for a security man outside the building who was able to call the owner and let us in! That was just an inconvenience due to our flight being so late.

Music in Ocean Cafe stops at 00:00, as promised; but on Saturday night there was loud music from the bar down the street, until 2 am at least, when I called police to stop it.

Excellent location with the bar and restaurant just below. The beach is just basically across the street. They are also available to recommend and book tours as well. The service was great, very friendly people!

The noise until midnight from the bar just below. Although it is on the booking site they actually make a point of mentioning that just in case you didn't noticed when you booked a room. I knew it from the site already and was willing to endure it. Not a bad thing per se, just a "feature" of the hotel :)
