For a one-night stay in this charming town the room and bed are adequate, and met our expectation. For longer stays, it might feel a bit small. Breakfast in the restaurant was good.

The only thing I didn't appreciate was being asked to fill out a form with information they clearly already had in their system. This kind of "make work" for customers (often tired after a day's drive) is unnecessary and unhelpful. The receptionist, otherwise helpful and friendly, could only say "it's protocol." I hope management reads this comment.

- Property was in excellent condition - perhaps due to recent renovations. Room and common areas were all in tip-top shape showing no wear and tear, fresh paint, new furniture and furnishings, new appliances and electronics. - Young lady at desk was helpful and friendly. - Location was ideal for walking to store, restaurants, shops, marina.

- Nightly rate is high for such a property, but understand to a degree as there's not enough competition for properties to compete for guests. - Don't recall seeing any information on their website about having the common kitchen for guests to use. - Motel sign, and outdoor grounds need updating to go along with indoor renovations.

The renovations resulted in a perfect accommodation: There was a huge window facing the water, and the sunset, more lights than I needed, a large fridge, and more electrical outlets than I could use. That's a first. And the location was great - right in the middle of things! The linens were wonderful, and the mattress and pillows were excellent. Also the attached restaurant was a huge bonus... Well done!

The location for us was excellent since it was just a two minute walk to the local ferry to Alert Bay so we didn't need a car for our Alert Bay visit. We had a microwave and refrigerator in the room which helped with easy breakfast prep. The hotel was also close to an excellent brewery & pub where we enjoyed dinner for two nights.

More hand/bath soap and a garbage can in the bathroom would have been helpful. The hotel is still in the middle of renovations of their restaurant area. That did not bother us as we weren't around during the day but could be annoying if you were. I wish the owners all the best in completing their renovations.

We stayed for total 2 nights but on separate days. We went on a 3 night kayaking tour on a deserted island and since we had a briefing on Friday evening and also had to leave on Saturday early morning to get to the island by water taxi, we chose to stay in Dalewood Inn which was close to all the venues. They kindly let us leave our rental car at their parking slot until we came back from the tour on Tuesday evening - without charge! How nice of them! And also the young receptionist was extremely friendly!

The location was perfect, having the restaurant right on sight fantastic and the food was very good, reasonably priced and good healthy portions! The staff were friendly and very helpful. Views of the harbor were pleasant.

Not too much soundproofing between floors in our wing of the motel.

The Dalewood exceeded our expectations. You could tell they have done some Reno’s recently. The room was nice with 2 comfortable queen beds. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They knocked to ask if we needed anything. They were kind and quick. We forgot a tablet there and they are mailing it back to us. Although we didn’t use the kitchen facilities, knowing they were there, we will plan to next time! It was clean, quiet and affordable!

The beds were snug to the walls to fit 2 queens in but having the queen size over the double was worth it.

This is a great base. Well equipped, nice clean rooms, super helpful staff. I don’t think the photos flatter the premises. Group of 7, stayed 3 nights, would stay again without hesitation.

Nothing in particular

It was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was very close to the ferry terminal for our 7:25 am departure. The room and bathroom were quite small but it was what we expected from our booking and good for one night.

To me, the pillows were a little uncomfortable. Although there was a coffeemaker in the room, there were no cups and no regular coffee.

Friendly stuff, nice view and really quite. Walking distance to a great restaurants and seaside walk.

The facade of the hotel is not yet finished, so you may be disappointed at first glance. However, the interior is clean and looks amazing. Therefore, please do not get discouraged.
