Dog friendly/very comfortable beds and LOADS of hot water that was a huge relief after having spent the previous night in the DUMP that was Pioneer Inn! we stayed there for a night as, when we tried to book you for Saturday night 3rd December on Booking.com that night was blocked off! only disappointment was the nature of the so-called pub next door to the Inn which only offered Chinese food (a stretch to call it a PUB)! As there was nowhere open to eat we reluctantly went over there and sat in a freezing cold room (the Chinese owners of the “Pub” had instructed the staff to keep the thermostat at almost “OFF” - 6 degrees and when we asked the waitress if we could, at least, have the gas fire on she told us that the fire had been broken for 3 years since before the new Chinese owners took over! What a HORRID experience and so we had a bowl of soup and were so cold that we left!!

Got carried away after I mentioned what we DID like about the property but there, definitely, has to be something done about the ‘only Asian food” PUB! Given that there are so few ‘Eateries’ in Port Hardy (disappointing for such a large town) to have what appears to be the only so-called pub in town only serving Chinese food AND freezing out their customers while doing so is disgusting!

Great room and view of the harbour in a good location. Large sized room with a jet tub bath as a great unexpected addition

The breakfast was sparse and un apatising. It was supplied in a grab to go bag from a fridge. We were told this was due to it being the off season and the restaurant wasn't open. Overall we were impressed with the value for money and would still recommend the venue to others.

The view was stunning. Room was comfortable, nothing amazing but adequate.

Breakfast was very poor and we passed as it was looked very unappetizing. You are charged a pet fee on a daily basis not for the overall stay. Our room was not cleaned at all during the stay, so nobody had any extra work to do with having our dog there. A sly cash grab for no service. Make the pet fee for the whole stay not per day when you are not put out at all by it.

The managers and staff! Joe n Jenny were beyond hospitable! Charming, funny, helpful and delightful! Priscilla on the front desk was warm, fun and very efficient. The room was spotless, the view was postcard perfect, the price was excellent and the hot breakfast buffet was one of the best included breakfast deals I've had.

We did not have time to eat breakfast as had to go to Ferry. What a wonderful surprise though when we were able to get a bag of goodies in the morning to take with us. The front desk clerks on night shift and morning shift were absolutely the best in customer service. Friendly and professional.

We actually ended up with a room for a handicapped person but because of the busy time of year for travelling we did not feel it was necessary to try to change rooms. We were tired and it was late at night when we arrived.

I loved the location. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, especially at the restaurant where they arranged the tables so our group of 13 could all sit together. Also, I liked that we could leave two cars for a few days while we were backpacking.

The restaurant menu didn't have a lot of choices. It was basically the same dish with different choices of sauces.

The staff were great and very helpful. They offered a breakfast to go which was great as I was catching the ferry. The room was clean and comfortable. Had a view of the marina.

The only problem was that the hotel doors were very loud when they closed. Was a bit disruptive when trying to sleep.

Room was HUGE. Bed was comfortable. Very quiet. Pet friendly!! I live in town and needed to stay here for a couple nights and I have a pet. Choices are limited. Was pleasantly surprised and will recommend to anyone travelling to Port Hardy!

The breakfast was decent (Friday am breakfast was better than Saturday breakfast). Selection was fantastic, it just wasn't cooked properly (ie bacon/ham was great, spring rolls/hash browns were mushy).

Second time to stay at this property. Front desk staff were very helpful, with special mention to the same nice lady who received me during my first stay. The view was slightly better from this room than the previous one.

Same housekeeping staff was knocking on the door half an hour before check-out, with the same line of: "Oh, I thought you had already gone." I understand that she might be eager to finish her day early, but there were hardly any guests and we were given an extra hour by the front desk to check out. Too bad the restaurants in Port Hardy are closed for the Christmas holidays. Had to get our meals from another hotel, where the pub was open year-round.
