When we entered the family suite we were greeted with a fresh clean smell. Everything looked very clean. The kitchenette had a full stove, a microwave, a coffee machine , big fridge and a good size sink. We liked that there were 4 gas barbecues available for the guests. The suite was a nice big size for the 3 of us plus a small dog. The hotel is in a forest setting, it was very quiet there. There are nature trails nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful.

THE KITCHENETTE: Not enough dishes [cups] for the number of guests. No soup bowls. No cooking pot. No salad bowl. The kettle was ancient {that is why I like a big cooking pot to boil water in]. The door to the bedroom did not close properly. There was a bullet hole in the bedroom window. The was a lack of counter top space around the sink in the bathroom. The fridge was making noises at night.

Great location! We spent time walking round. There was a nice restaurant on site. The room was big enough for my family & dog. Room was very clean.

Rooms where big but a bit old. The walls were thin. The door hinges needed oil-very noisy when opening & closing door. Only one key-which was hard to share with my family. The front desk staff was not very friendly or welcoming.

Cozy and comfortable room situated across from nice lite hiking trails that my dog and I enjoyed. I also enjoyed the Japanese/Korean restaurant next door. Loved the fried chicken.

No kitchenette (upgrade next time) and a desk to do office work would have been nice but overall very nice room / motel. I enjoyed my stay at the Pioneer.

The lady who booked us in was pleasant and kind. We appreciated her waiting to book us in. We left before the breakfast so we could catch the Port Hardy ferry. The sheets were linen I think and I felt like royalty!! A quiet, restful night.

The staff person was very helpful.We had a 2nd floor room the first trip and when he saw that we were seniors he helped with our luggage. The second trip he gave us a ground floor room.

Firstbroom lacked enough plugs to charge phomes, etc.

We arrived in the wee hours of the morning after a long ferry ride. Our hostess waited up for us to check in and greeted us with friendliness and a welcoming smile!

The surrounding scenery of the Inn was beautiful, however, for travellers without a vehicle it is tricky to get to and from the establishment. If choosing to travel by taxi, it is costly.

Quiet, beautiful environment - great place to go for a walk with family and friends. Room was clean and the kitchgen had most of what we needed.

It’s a bit off the road and very quiet, I was able to plug my car in to get some overnight charge. It’s very clean and functional.

Over all it’s an older property and the floors creak

We stayed there in preparation for our trip on BC Ferries to Prince Rupert. The office staff asked us to take a different room which turned out to be a mini-apartment with kitchenette, sofa and a very large bedroom. AND they lowered the price by $10 because they made this change.

Very nice front desk person was waiting for the patrons that came out of the ferry at midnight. Big room and clean bathroom. Property is well kept despite its old age.
