We were warmly welcomed even arriving quite late, the gentleman mentioned that he is used to it as he waits for guests arriving from the ferry. He was very helpful, kind. We had a room in one of the houses, on the first floor. Large roome, very comfortable bed, large bathroom. Besides, if you stay enough time, you have the use of the full ground floor as if you were at home ! Super nice experience, would definitely recommend this place for anyone who stay at Prince Rupert for a night or more.

An interesting B&B/Hotel. The Black Rooster looks like Topsy, in that it just grew and grew. So there are three (I think) properties which together make up the accommodation. They are side by side but not interconnected. Check in and check out were quick and easy. Checkout is particularly so. The instruction in the room is "leave your key and go" We rented what was listed as a studio, and it was ideal for us. It could be described as a small bed sit with a lovely large bathroom. The equipment was adequate for basic cooking, the bed was very comfortable, and location was great. There was also a communal kitchen but it looked unloved and unused. There was also customer laundry but we didn't make use of that. The one staff person (manager?) we met was friendly and professional. Although listed in the B&B section there is only breakfast if you make it yourself, at least in the section we were in. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

The only tin opener in captivity was broken. I think it was the one used by Noah on the Ark.

Liked the abundant space of the living room. Kitchen was well equipped.

That we had to dispose the trash ourselves. Apartment must be cleaned anyway after our 1 night stay. Didn't like that there was no air conditioning. We stayed in a heat wave and with the apartment being located in the 1st floor, we did not feel safe sleeping with open windows. Sleeping resulted uncomfortably hot. Would not stay again in summer or longer. Bathroom was tiny.

The common area was well equipped and modern. Both the bedroom and common area were a comfortable size and clean. Location was good for our needs.

Nothing that was significant. The floor wasn’t level in the bedroom so items on wheels tended to roll to one side.

Such a Nice place to stay. The gentleman at the welcome desk was really helpfull. He indicates us a good place to lunch and provides a map for the town. The place and bedroom were just great and quiet. The laundry worked perfectly..

That we had to move back home

Every phone call prior to our stay was met with an answer. The house managers were so accommodating, even stayed up until 3 am for us, as our train was 6 hours delayed. We traveled with our mobility scooters and we were given an area to park them securely. The rooms were nice and clean and spacious. Loved the community kitchen and dining area.. And free coffee in the kitchen.. we were happy. We were even given ideas for where to go, what to etc. Really, we could not have asked for anything more.

Spacious, clean apartment with well appointed kitchen area. Private room with free wifi and excellent en-suite facilities. Friendly, hassle-free check-in.

No elevator. I was fine, but some guests might struggle with stairs. A longish walk to the town centre.

We have stayed at the Black Rooster before and we really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this place. There is a communal kitchen where we shared travel stories with other guests. It is a short 5 minute walk into town. We arrived very late on the ferry and check in was very easy.

There is no elevator so you must be able to carry your luggage up a few flights of stairs. It was no problem for us.

Very clean and comfortable unit. Big space that makes a larger family feel like home. Price is excellent as well. Not common to find a place for a larger group where each couple has their own room with bathroom.

Very beautiful suite modern spotlessly clean awesome shower new fridge stove everything a person needs to enjoy themselves.

The suite could use a ceiling fan and another window in the bedroom one blind wouldn’t close properly something was blocking it from going all the way down so we had to the street light shining right through the kitchen window and the sensered kitchen light came on in the morning all by itself so I eventually had to unplug it.
