We truly felt welcomed and like we were part of the family when we arrived. Travelling with a toddler is always a roll of the dice, but it was really lovely to stay somewhere that understood what it was like to travel with kids. Ben and Zainub truly went above and beyond for us. When they heard it was our daughter's second birthday, they upgraded us to a different room at no charge and left us a cupcake in the room for her. When we panicked at nap time and realized we'd forgotten to pack our daughter's sleep sack, I texted them with a Hail Mary request and they looked through their own things and delivered. This will be my go-to space to stay when I travel to St. Andrews.

I honestly can't think of anything. Our stay was exceptional.

I believe that even when you decide to go far from home and want a bit of a change from the everyday, you still want the comfort and warmth of home. That's exactly what my friend and I felt. The two hosts made us feel so welcome, we immediately felt like members of the family. Always available if we needed anything and super open to talk to us/recommend things. Their story with Montague Rose Inn is very inspiring, the place is beautiful and perfectly located. We hadn't even left that we wanted to book to come back during the summer. Breakfast was not included in the price, but we ate at the cute little cafe downstairs and were made delicious breakfast bagel sandwiches by Ben. The hosts are lovely and were happy to share recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The location was good; everywhere in St. Andrews was totally walkable. It's a charming old house with lots of character.

Our daughter's bed was not made up when we arrived (no bedding or pillow) but the hosts brought everything promptly. The house is not at all soundproof, so you can hear the comings and goings of the other guests and footsteps from above.

A lovely heritage building home to a young family who moved to the area a few years ago. There are signs of a ‘boutique’ establishment in the making. They are clearly working hard on their refurbishments and new business with lots of personal touches that are both modern and in keeping with the bones of the home. Very clean and the ‘snack basket’ in the room worked alongside the coffee facilities and fridge. Breakfast is not provided but within 5 minutes walk there are many coffee shops etc.

We didn’t meet the owners or staff but as we arrived late and left early this was understandable.

Location is perfect. Walking distance from most attractions in St.Andrews. Service at The Montague Rose is always exceptional, hosts are easy to contact, and very happy to help. We celebrated our anniversary on the weekend for the second time at Montague. We brought a dessert back from a restaurant but forgot to ask for take-away cutlery. Our hosts were more than happy to provide dessert plates and cutlery to us at 9pm!

Lovely restored historic inn, beautiful comfortable room, facilities modernized but kept consistent with historic style. Gracious, welcoming and informative hosts. Within a few blocks of Water Street, the downtown on the bay - with shops and restaurants overlooking the water. Town itself is charming with consistent colonial era architecture throughout. Neighborhoods are also lovely for walking including the lighthouse. Fabulous restaurants and cafes.

Love the place / quiet / clean / wonderful hosts and Wally (our dog) was so welcoming in the room call Verona. Already miss St Andrew and the vibe! You must try the breakfast sandwich and the smoothies.

We would have liked to have a coffee a little earlier in the morning (like 7:30)…, just a personal caprice.

Ben and Zainub are lovely and very helpful hosts, running this pretty Inn 5 minutes walk away from the coast. The bedroom was large, with a comfy bed, and a very well appointed bathroom with quality fittings. The breakfast roll is highly recommended and very tasty 😋

The bedroom could ideally do with more electrical sockets.

The room (Verona) was big, clean and extremely comfortable. Easy access on the main floor and practically silent at night even being street level.

Nothing. I actually never saw the staff as I left early in the mornings and came back later in the evening. I was given codes for doors and had no issues.

The hosts go out of their way to give their guests a great experience. For example, they made me wonderful vegan breakfasts, and made me vegan treats for the afternoon tea. My husband is not vegan, and he also loved the food. The location is perfect — within walking distance of almost everything, yet on a quiet street. We could walk to the waterfront in five minutes, and to the Kingsbrae gardens in less than ten. Beds were super comfortable, and we loved having a little fridge in the room. It was a much-needed and refreshing stay.
