Breakfast was not included in the price, but we ate at the cute little cafe downstairs and were made delicious breakfast bagel sandwiches by Ben. The hosts are lovely and were happy to share recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The location was good; everywhere in St. Andrews was totally walkable. It's a charming old house with lots of character.

Our daughter's bed was not made up when we arrived (no bedding or pillow) but the hosts brought everything promptly. The house is not at all soundproof, so you can hear the comings and goings of the other guests and footsteps from above.

A lovely heritage building home to a young family who moved to the area a few years ago. There are signs of a ‘boutique’ establishment in the making. They are clearly working hard on their refurbishments and new business with lots of personal touches that are both modern and in keeping with the bones of the home. Very clean and the ‘snack basket’ in the room worked alongside the coffee facilities and fridge. Breakfast is not provided but within 5 minutes walk there are many coffee shops etc.

We didn’t meet the owners or staff but as we arrived late and left early this was understandable.

The hosts go out of their way to give their guests a great experience. For example, they made me wonderful vegan breakfasts, and made me vegan treats for the afternoon tea. My husband is not vegan, and he also loved the food. The location is perfect — within walking distance of almost everything, yet on a quiet street. We could walk to the waterfront in five minutes, and to the Kingsbrae gardens in less than ten. Beds were super comfortable, and we loved having a little fridge in the room. It was a much-needed and refreshing stay.

Lovely restored historic inn, beautiful comfortable room, facilities modernized but kept consistent with historic style. Gracious, welcoming and informative hosts. Within a few blocks of Water Street, the downtown on the bay - with shops and restaurants overlooking the water. Town itself is charming with consistent colonial era architecture throughout. Neighborhoods are also lovely for walking including the lighthouse. Fabulous restaurants and cafes.

Location is close to town. Nice town

No breakfast at this B&B. There are places nearby so it is manageable. Older building that is being renovated piece by piece apparently. There is still a ways to go. Our room was fairly nice although our private bath was entered from the hall. The bath did seem updated so it was OK.

The Montague Rose is a charming house in a great location very close to the beautiful St Andrews waterfront. The owners were very welcoming, and are doing a lovely job of fixing up the property, and I'd like to come back again.

The only downside is that the WiFi wasn't working properly, but I'm sure this was only a temporary problem.

Beautiful place within walking distance from everything in St Andrews. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They provided great recommendations and took time to map out all the places to go with my dogs. The room was very well appointed and was tastefully decorated. The owners left snacks and water and coffee for us to enjoy.

The Montague Rose Inn was the perfect place to stay in St Andrews! The rooms were clean and perfectly designed and the family who owns it was so nice and welcoming. They did a wonderful job renovating the place as they’ve shown on their Instagram. The Inn is located just a short walk to the main road. Would love to stay here longer next time.

Beautiful property in a great location . Very clean and comfortable. St Andrews is a lovely little town which feels very safe. Just a few bars and restaurants but we found it perfect for an overnight stop on our journey to the bay of Fundy. We even saw deer roaming around the town.

Nothing to dislike . The hosts are lovely.

Beautifully renovated property in a perfect location in St Andrews. The bed was really comfy, great little touches which just made our stay wonderful. The cafe serves lovely food too which was great as we took it out with us for the day.
