Quaint looking century home type property in close proximity of the ferry terminal. Nice view of the sea through the bedroom windows. Room had all amenities like Keurig, coffee, creamer, fridge, fan, microwave, USB charging ports. TV had Amazon Prime movies. Bed and couch were comfortable. We were able to sit on the couch and look at the sea through the windows. Location was very quiet. Large spacious rear deck with comfortable chairs providing view of the sea and harbour. The whole property was clean and tastefully furnished.

Breakfast was okay but could have been better for the price paid. People taking the 7:30 AM ferry do not get the breakfast as the host refuses to provide early breakfast or grab-and-go. Toilet bowl in the washroom is exceptionally small and suitable for children only. There is more than enough space in the washroom for an adult size toilet bowl.

Loved view of harbor from room. Liked water cooler and coffee in room. Liked location and appreciated early check-in. "Rose Room" was perfect for one person but think it would be crowded for two.

Bathroom across hall, top of staircase in center of house. Breakfast was tasty but lacked protein, no eggs or meat, only bread fried in butter (don't think it was really french toast.) Hosts did not reply to questions online, only got solicitations for sea kayaking. Hosts were reluctant to entertain any requests, even for a bit of ice (needed and room had no fridge.) Water cooler had hot water button, but didnt work.

Our room was spacious and it was nice to have a fridge and microwave . And appreciated the corkscrew( even tho we didn’t use it) and the spoon. An added bonus would have been a couple of forks and knives.( we made sandwiches to take on our adventures)

The bathroom needs a place to hand used towels since they aren’t changed daily and a couple of extra face cloths would have been nice. We had a problem with the tv , could have just been us, but the second night the network kept cutting out or was non existent.

The Compass Rose was amazing and extremely lovely. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and they took great care with the food allergies we have. The house was so peaceful and at night the ocean sounds were very soothing.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. If we had to put something which this form does seem to be making us, we would say the quality of the soaps/shampoo wasn't the best but it truly is so small a thing it almost doesn't matter.

Seaside/harborside beauty! We loved the view from our room over the water and watching the tidal changes. Watching the ferry come and go like clockwork was fun. We loved the setting, the sweet dining room, the gazebo overlooking the bay where we had a glass of wine both evenings and takeout dinner. We didn't eat dinner in the dining room because of dietary restrictions and also because we were looking for something lighter, but we heard it was good!

No fault of the owners, but nearby construction made it necessary for bottled water to drink or brush teeth. We received 4 (10-12 oz) bottles to begin with, which ran out almost immediately. We had to keep going back for more. Hopefully, the project will be completed soon! We'd definitely return!

Loved everything! Starting with owner Linda, who was very accommodating and friendly with her engaging, joyful, and fun manner. We were in the Wild Flower Room. Beautiful! Big ceiling fan, king bed, fireplace, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and many windows to open and smell the ocean. Large bathroom with tub and separate shower. We placed our dinner order before 3 pm and sharp at 6. we enjoyed Lobster Penne and Panfried Haddock with veggies...delicious! The dining room overlooks the bay. Enjoyed chatting with other guests. Went for a walk that evening and saw 4 deer. Inn is located a short walk from ferry, and walking the other way is a large beach to search for ocean treasures. We had just spent a beautiful night before at The Algonquin courtesy of our kids for our 40th anniversary, but we loved the Compass Rose Inn very much!

We wished we had booked for more than 1 night.😢

The location is excellent and so are the hosts, Linda and Kevin. We stayed in the Garden Room which had its own entrance from the side of the house. The breakfast that’s included with your stay was absolutely delicious! We both also enjoyed the pan fried haddock for dinner and loved every bite!

Due to the high humidity our room was a bit damp when we arrived. However, it was quickly resolved once Linda was notified. Bottled water was provided to us because of the construction that was going on next to their property, but it was only a precautionary measure taken by the owners to ensure our safety.

This property looks out onto the bay from the upstairs rooms and the diningroom. It is also about a 3 minute drive to the Ferry to the mainland. We really enjoyed visiting with both Linda and Kevin, the owners. The breakfast was wonderful. We were given the option to have dinner in the evening chosen from a fixed menu. We took the dinner option two of the four days we were there and really enjoyed it!

The room we were in for the first 3 days was a bit small and the bathroom was across the hall.

We loved our stay. A perfect location to explore the island. The Ebenezer room was very spacious and comfortable. Loved the view of the harbor from both the bed and the living room and deck. The deck had very comfortable chairs with cushions and tables. Full kitchen with large fridge and microwave and everything you need. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. A very nice breakfast was served in the morning to get your day started. Very peaceful and calm place. Pizza and store near by.

The free breakfast was amazing, The location and views were definitely worth recommending. The atmosphere was very friendly. I had booked the place for my parents who haven't travel much in Canada outside of Ontario and Quebec. Grand Manan Island's one of the best reviewed place was Compass Rose. According to my parents, it exceeded expectations. Hotel level service in a more intimate setting. The people, staff and environment was very friendly especially considering we are a different race from the population.

Honestly there were no complaints from my parents who were staying there. At least nothing that made a dent in the overall experience.
