The staff were all amazing - from the bellhops to front desk to cleaning staff; even the poor old fella whose job was to manually pick the weeds from between the patio stones ! Just a lovely well trained staff!

This is a pet friendly facility which I absolutely love - however I do think the resort should designate some poop areas Instead of allowing them to poop anywhere…twice during our three days there we were playing the games on the front lawn and came in contact with dog poop. This is a huge facility that could designate behind the building or off to the side for poop areas. Secondly - food is just so expensive.

We had planned on staying here for a few nights. This turned out to be a good idea as the weather was terrible; we were hit with a snow storm we hadn't expected. The Algonquin Resort was the perfect place to spend one of our days inside by the fire, reading. The room was comfortable, the staff was helpful, the food and drinks were great.

The day we arrived in the snowstorm was our wedding anniversary and we were pleased that we'd be spending it here. That is, until a large group that was there for a conference became noisy during "happy hour." It felt as if they were taking over the lounge area. Fortunately, once we were seated at the restaurant, our waiter really took good care of us so that I was able to ignore the noise from the happy drinkers.

All the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel was well maintained with lots of activities. There were two tours; one of the town and a ghost tour of the hotel. This place was very close to the town center. It was a short walk to the Kingsbrae Garden. Two big swimming pools; one indoor and one outdoor. The tennis/pickleball court was a block away. Outdoor fire pit with the option to roast marshmallows. Bikes onsite.

A little more lighting in the room would have been helpful.

The value question depends on what you there for. I stayed at the Algonquinn because I read about it. Facilities were good. The breakfast buffet was no as good as the a la carter offering gd

The meals ie supper could have been of a higher standard. For example cucumber and watermelon salad had hardly both those ingredients but a lot of assorted lettuce. The pasta portions were too large and too heavily sauced plus I am used to quieter serving staff.

Our breakfast experience was amazing … great food served hot and excellent omelets / the buffet had wonderful selections . The best part really was our waitress - she was so friendly and looked after us in an exceptional manner. You should be very proud to have her on your staff. The front porch was so relaxing / the fire pit with lawn chairs was very unique and fun / the pool was refreshing / inviting and water temperature was just right . Location to downtown Water Street so easy to walk to.

If you included a “glass” to use in the bathroom to brush your teeth with that would be far better than a paper “coffee cup”.

I like that the manager went out of his way to accommodate and upgrade my room due to a technical error on bookings part

I did not like that i used booking .com who put the reservstion in and i paid by visa debit but when sending tye reservation to the Algonquin did not sent the payment. Good thing i could access my bank account and saved the payment reciept. This,could have been avoided had the right information been sent to begin with. My family waited in the vehicle for about 40 minutes while the manager and the counter clerk did their best to descaelate the situation.

Magnificent setting and furnishings. Nice work out gym, pool area well appointed. This compound is close to the Kingsbrae gardens. Short drive to waterfront dining. We were happy to have our dog with us, she was treated as a guest. Only drawback was the choices on dinner menu, lunch was a better selection. Great brunch buffet! Just an outstanding, memorable visit

Room spacious, views beautiful. Attentive support staff. Gardens overgrown, but tidy. Hard to live next door to Kingsbrae, and up to that splendor.

Historic, so many things to do, great location, helpful and friendly staff, great restaurant options, and being greeted by the friendliest Labrador Retriever ever in the lobby.

The washroom in my room! The sink/counter was so close to the toilet that it was … well I won’t get into details, but it made things very difficult.

Everything was great except the crowds of people in the hotel

Everything was great as always BUT there were so many families with young children who were running and screaming at the corridors near my room even after 11:00 p.m., it was very uncomfortable. And of course this amount of children were very uncomfortable in the pool as well. I think the resort should make a schedule so you know when the hotel hosts a big event so people could avoid it if they want.

We enjoyed the amenities such as the spa, pool and fitness, fireplaces, and the restaurants.

We didn't like the hidden fee of a "resort fee" not included in our booking.com reservation. They also did not include our third guest on the actual hotel reservation and tried to upcharge us again. The second bed was really close to the window and our third guest felt they could not access the bed easily.
