The hospitality couldn't be beat and the restaurant downstairs was wonderful. The beds were comfy and the rooms have just been renovated

There was no elevator but the owner very cheerfully carried my suitcase up 2 flights of stairs. It is a very old building and the floors were very wonky, in places one can feel where the hole was covered with carpet. There were no closets but a few hangers and hooks to use. There was only one mirror and that was in the bathroom. The rooms were very small but adequate if you're only going to sleep. There were no other chairs in the room than the bed.

Hotel was very comfortable and had a very friendly atmosphere. The rooms were spacious enough for our one night stay, and very clean. We were new to the area but the hotel is located in a very quiet area which was very nice. We would definitely go back again if the opportunity arises. Great value for the money.

Just a couple of small details in the actual hotel rooms we had. There was no chair to sit on. Even a straightback chair would have been nice. There is no closet so to have a couple of hooks in the actual room to hang clothes would have helped. The only hook was in the bathroom. One last thing was the a/c. I appreciate it is expensive, but even to have a fan in the rooms without a/c would be nice in the summer to keep the air circulating.

By far the best location in Berry Bay for hotel accommodations. Parking was ample and staff were friendly. Uniquely, this was the TV experience of my hotel life! It’s often overlooked, but hotel TVs are huge contributing factor to comfort. Too often they’re confusing and inconvenient. After a long trip my partner and I really appreciated the ease in navigating.

It’s not exactly anyone’s ‘fault’ but there were spiders in every corner of the ceiling. One of which was huge! Not a big deal really, just slightly uncomfortable as they had to be ‘disposed’ of.

Great location, kind staff, and cute/ comfortable rooms! Many things to do in Barry's Bay and a lake 3 minutes down the road with a beach to swim, fish, etc. Roku stick with the TV in the room so you can watch TV (just don't forget to logout!) Room was cleaned and maintained very well with a very nice bathroom and temperature!

Everything was amazing! Just note that there is no mini fridge in the rooms!

I was looking for a place to stay for 2 nights and found that the Balmoral hotel is truly the ideal option, especially if you do not like motels. I had a lot of fun and would definitely come back here! My dad adored the Western look to the place, and we liked how it was in the centre of Barry's Bay.

My room had poor lighting, but that is fine because it was not yet renovated as the other rooms.

Conveniently located in town. Friendly proprietor, very helpful as we were traveling with a one year old who was ill and crying. She came to the door with a stack of kids' books which were very helpful.

Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar are closed, although the owner is looking for someone to operate it. I recall it was a good spot to eat and have a beer.

I liked the location and the room was perfect for one night!

I think a wall mirror in the rooms would be useful. The one mirror in the washroom was just not enough when more than one person is getting ready for the day! I would have liked it if the dining room was open a little longer and open for breakfast. Since if was not open for breakfast we were scrambling to find a breakfast place. It would be nice if the Balmoral provided menus/locations of good breakfast places in the rooms.

Stayed one night for work . It's older style hotel with character. Nice location in center of town . Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to slow season but will make up for it some other time . Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Very pleasant owner . Hotel is highly recommended.

The room was clean and felt warm and cozy. No breakfast was available. The hostess was very friendly and helpful.

It was a very cold few days when we were there. It took time for the warm water to reach our bathroom taps and unfortunately we couldn't take showers because the water for that faucet was ice cold even after running it for over 10 minutes.

Cozy, clean, everything was new in the room, including all amenities. Excellent restaurant, lovely covered deck and patio. Close walking distance to groceries. Nice walking tour of Barry’s Bay.

Property is being upgraded. Entryway, staircase, halls a little tired. Would like to return in a couple of years to see improvements.
