Beautiful apartment overlooking Baptiste Lake. Mostly quiet. Loons calling. 😊. Spacious and comfortable. Lovely decor. Great outdoor space with BBQs and firepits for use (when no fire ban is on). Hot tub is very nice. Not far to Bancroft for shopping. Fun to watch the comings and goings at the nearby boat launch.
Wifi was spotty throughout last half of our stay. However, when we contacted the hosts they promptly contacted the provider and had it fixed. Coffee grounds left in coffeemaker, peanuts under couch, used dental floss in bathroom. Shower needs wooden floor replaced.

This review is specifically for the unit we booked, which was the largest among all available (they also have smaller units). Ours was a 2-bedroom, and the experience may differ from other units reviewed by other travelers. We stayed as a group of 4 adults and 1 child, and were absolutely blown away by both the lake view and the unit itself. It had everything listed in the facilities, and the sunset was the most peaceful, breathtaking sight we’ve ever experienced—you truly have to be there to feel the tranquility. We were celebrating my dad’s 75th birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We cut the cake down on the patio with the stunning lake backdrop Canoeing in the lake at sunset—it was magical. As others have mentioned, there are paddleboards, canoes, and other equipment available on a first-come, first-served basis. We visited on a weekday, so getting them was not a problem at all.
This is something other guests have mentioned, and we feel it’s worth noting as well. Drake—likely the owner—lives on-site, which may be why the rental management can’t address it. Unfortunately, he tends to knock very loudly and then walk straight into the foyer without prior notice (never into the living areas, thankfully!). May be ring a bell. He is kind and explains but yeah this one thing can gets to you. Also, for some reason, extra toilet paper isn’t stocked in the unit—you have to request it, which is another common piece of feedback we’ve seen from other guests.

The location was excellent- our lodge had direct view of lake. Lovely patio/balcony area to sit and view the lake Great communal outside area with boat launch, hammocks, muskoka chairs. Large separate kitchen (but dark as no natural light) Spacious lounge with patio windows to view lake. Large pull down bed in lounge.
Most of property felt dark as no windows until the lounge. Cramped bedroom as bed right up against walls- no room to walk around More of a stop over lodge for a couple of nights rather than any longer due to lack of natural light in the property. Needed a guest information booklet detailing restaurants/shops etc in the area.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner, Tim, was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the convenience of having a fully equipped kitchen to cook our own meals. The lodge was very well organized and equipped as well as tastefully decorated and had a very homey feeling. The lodge is located close to Algonquin Park as well as conveniently located to other areas that we had planned to check out. We were impressed with the view of the lake, although it was still frozen. We had a great weekend. We plan on coming back sometime in the late summer, early fall. Thank you, Tim for making our stay a wonderful experience!

Spacious and clean apartment with an excellent view over the lake from the balcony! The kitchen is stocked up with appliances and utensils, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. There were paddleboards to use, as well as a canoe and an ample supply of life jackets to use while on the water. Unfortunately, there was a total fire ban in effect, so we did not use the outdoor fire pit, but it looked like it would have been a very enjoyable experience to sit around the fire right on the water's edge. The view is really amazing!

The apartment was nice and had great views to the lake; the fall colors were amazing at the time of the visit. The place was clean and spacious for 4 people, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom had good water pressure, and the common areas in the place offered different nice activities to enjoy nature and chill (swimming in the lake, kayaking, enjoying a BBQ, the coziness of a firepit and the possibility of seeing Milky Way). We met with the owner on the first night while doing a BBQ in the garden and he was nice and helpful. I would totally stay again in this lodge. Thank you!
In a perfect world we would have liked to have the BBQ on the balcony for an easier access and that the hot tub would be a bit less "exposed" location (it was right at the entrance) so it would be more inviting to get in.

I thought the apartment style room was absolutely gorgeous and the VIEW OMG I felt like I was actually on a vacation. Only thing I’m sad about is we only stayed 1 night. I also forgot 3 coolers in the fridge so enjoy! Lol
It wasn’t a huge deal but it did make sitting outside to watch the sunset difficult and not very relaxing cause there were kids screaming and just repeating the same screaming word over and over for a good hour so we ended up having to go inside to watch the sunset. But other than that the trip was perfect!

We initially chose Baptiste Lake Lodge as a convenient location, on a lake, close to Bancroft and mineral hunting. What we discovered is that the Lodge is a beautiful, comfortable resort surrounded by friendly, hospitable people (including the neighbors!). The Lodge is right on the lake, on a quiet street with virtually no traffic. The calls of loons are heard early morning and during the absolutely spectacular sun set over the lake. Our accommodations were spacious and comfortable. We used all spaces, including our lovely private deck overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the large back yard a lot, and did get out paddling on beautiful Baptiste Lake. The flowers and gardens around the property are lovely, obviously planted with love and care. The Lodge was well located for us, affording us quick access both north (we visited Algonquin Provincial Park) and to many south, east and west mineral hunting trips. We hope to visit this lodge again! p.s. I loved that the Lodge recycles! So many commercial establishments do not.

Location, size and layout of the unit, and Tim, the caretaker.
The H&V system design s very poor. Cooking smells (bacon on one occasion burnt toast on another) from other parts of the building strongly contaminated the air in the unit we were in (#3). Also, the return plenum in the kitchen area is directly connected the the plenum in the adjacent unit's kitchen resulting in us clearly hearing conversation from that unit ! Finally the is no thermostat in the unit, so we had no control over temperature.

Location is absolutely beautiful and serene and comfortable! The living space is comfortable to just take a load off but you can also relax comfortably down by the water and enjoy amazing views! Having a fridge and oven mean you can easily stop into Bancroft for groceries and food to help save some money, or just enjoy the town itself with bakeries, local and chain restaurants, and beautiful local art. For us, it was also a short ride to Algonquin where we could easily spend a day hiking but have a great space to come back to.
