The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We also ate at the hotel restaurant which was very good and not outrageously expensive. The room and bathroom cleanliness were pretty good.

In the waiting lobby room area some of the furniture or cushions were stained or seemed old. Not a big deal to me but something I noticed and other tourists might be more bothered by. Also nothing hugely against the hotel, but it can be a bit of a rough area for tourists so perhaps don't wander too far, although walking along the water was nice and felt safe.

Good location, near shops and restaurants. Sea view from my room at the back of the hotel. Felt safe and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good, pisco sours excellent! Fridge in my room was a bonus.

Local disco music could be heard every night until the early hours of the morning. Waitress service in the evenings in the restaurant started off well for the first three nights, pretty poor after this. Wifi not always reliable.

To me everything was perfect, breakfast was very good, there is a pool billiard room, bar was really good, staff was very kindly, mostly in the bar, bed was really good, there was a great jacuzzi in the room, very relaxing. There is a place full of night live, with disco that plays music all night, if it is a problem for you don't book a room here, to me it was OK, inside the room the music is not that loud, I could sleep without a problem.

The parking lot is 3 blocks away, and the location in the night is not so safe.

The hotel is great and in a good location. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Parking close by is a definite asset.

Unfortunately the showers were tepid and never got warm. Our room was cold and after a long day travelling we really wanted a hot shower but it never happened. The staff were apologetic and said the heating was at max temperature but it was lukewarm and a big disappointment especially as it's such a good hotel.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean with comfortable beds. Sheets and towels were good quality. Great water pressure and consistent hot water in shower. Snacks in room are a nice touch. Restaurant staff were also very kind and food/cocktails were good. Fútbol Am. available on tv.

Overall very good. The paint and carpet in the room could use refreshing soon. An extra hand towel, and a room in a quieter location would have been appreciated as there is a night club down the street with loud music in the middle of the night.

The staff at the reception was very very helpful and service minded.

One of the reasons for choosing Hotel don Luis was that according to booking.com that they had a shuttle bus service from the airport - this was absolutely not the case! Very annoying when expect and count on that specific service.

The location was central to town and the waterfront, breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant

I booked a room with lake view but got one overlooking a busy intersection, the curtains could have been better as they only just closed together but let a lot of light in

The room was clean. Great variety options for breakfast and good food for lunch and dinner with great service.

The noise of a near by discotheque can be annoying if you have a light sleep and since rooms don't have air-conditioning you need to open the room window to let some fresh air in increasing the noise.

Loved the artwork near the lobby and the overall vibe. We arrived early and they took our bags for us, so we could shop around while we waited for our room to be ready. Really awesome! A few employees spoke enough English and I spoke enough Spanish that communicating wasn’t too difficult. If I didn’t have any Spanish though, communicating would’ve been tough.

The water in the shower didn’t get very warm and the upper floors of the hotel were quite warm until later in the day.

Very welcoming. The rooms on the city side have excellent showers, but not so good on the bay side.

The dining room can be noisy with large groups. Dinner menu has limited choices and quality varied.
