Great location, very authentic guesthouse in the main street. Silent enough at night. Great air con and overall a very convenient stay. We had an extra large bed that was very comfortable. We loved the breakfast and it was good value for the money we paid. We found out that the Didi App didn't work to get there and taxis leave you outside the city walls, in the South West door, for 20-25 Euro ( we agreed on the taximeter). It was ok for us, but sharing here so you are aware of the 15 minutes walk from where they drop you off.

I expected the bathroom to be a bit cleaner, but overall good for a night's stay

Had a broken air conditioner and the staff offered me a bigger room. Also gave me a small gift upon exit. I think it’s proper value for money, and it’s right on the Main Street (which is signaled as South Street). For future travelers coming from the train station: you can either enter through the South Gate (via the park), or go through the West gate and get an electric tuc tuc or walk. This is a walking city, which is visitable in one day (arriving early on Day 1, and leaving early on Day 2).

Lovely guesthouse in one of the main streets. Location is perfect, you can walk around easily. The staff is amazing, ready to help and always smiling. They gave us a map, a little introduction to the city and organised our taxi to and from the station. There is a restaurant, very good, where you can relax with a drink or have amazing dinners. The room was very quite and cool, despite the 40 degrees outside. Book it and you won't regret it!

My two young boys call this hotel to this day "the castle". My 5 year old said he wants to stay there forever and we can leave him there. The staff were so welcoming and helped us with anything we needed. staying here was like staying at a museum - you really felt the many hundred of years history of the city in this building - extremely unique experience and highly recommend!

Beds are really hard, curtains cannot fully close all light, they are too small, I was on the second floor and had to carry baggage up through small corridors Had to wait to check-in for 20 minutes before boss arrived

Central location, customer oriented staff (gave us an extra portable heater when it was cold), didn’t forget to give us bottles of drinking water when we didn’t require daily room cleaning, good breakfast, every effort was made to ensure room was comfortable in a traditional hotel.

The water heater was rather weak, so we sometimes ran out of hot water when 3 of us needed to take a bath consecutively. But we are from the tropics and take big baths.

Very charming room and courtyard right on the main road by the South Gate. The location cannot be beaten. The family room (2 double beds) is charming and the courtyard is a typical traditional court with the red lanterns. Staff was extremely friendly, they explained everything and let us keep the room until 3pm at no extra charge.

The room was a bit cold upon arrival because it was a bitter cold day in Pingyao when I arrived.

Great location right in the ancient city. Amazing stuff, they picked us up from the railway station and took us straight to the accomodation (it'd had been quite difficult to find it on our own as you can't drive into the ancient city) and offered us a cup of tea. The food at the restaurant was great too. They gave us a little present before leaving.

The guesthouse is an absolute marvel just like Pingyao ancient town itself! Everything was great, from the smooth check-in, extremely friendly and welcoming staff to the nice and comfortable room. Breakfast wasn’t a huge portion but was definitely enough and worth the money.

Just double check the address - the one shown on the booking.com wasn’t correct (at my time of the stay).

The place is completely stunning. Is inside the wall which is perfect if you want to enjoy the city and all the historical building or museums. The staff is very nice and will help you with everything you need. It had this perfect spritzing of a traditional guest house. I completely recommend it.
