It’s secluded, in the mountains with great view. The staff were very friendly and accessible. Quick to answer and communicate with WeChat. Very convenient to the national park (5min) from west gate. Offers tickets and etc… for cheaper than online or trip.com Food was also very good. And the breakfast very traditional
We asked to have our laundry done - it was a bit of a gong show. We dropped off the first day and it was still not done until day before we left. When we got it it smelled terrible because the dryer was busted and they didn’t notice. They rectified by re-washing again and not charging but drying is a problem here so wouldn’t recommend doing your laundry here. Aside from this everything was GREAT!

We had a truly relaxing and wonderful holiday at this cozy and beautiful resort! It’s tucked away in a quiet area, yet conveniently close to the west gate of the national forest park. The staff were incredibly hospitable and kind. They offered us helpful tourist information, taxi services and assisted with our luggage. The ladies in the kitchen prepared authentic and delicious local dishes—some of which were made with fresh vegetables they picked straight from their own garden! One of the things we appreciated most was the resort’s location. It allows you to explore the park against the main tourist flow. Most visitors stay near the east, north, or south gates, and most tours begin from either the south or east. Staying near the west gate gave us a more peaceful and unique experience of Zhangjiajie. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a more tranquil way to enjoy the park!
We liked everything here.

No 5 the Valley is brilliantly located 5 mins drive of the west entrance of Zhangjiajie national park (the hotel will drop off/collect). The view from the infinity pool is incredible. We occupied rooms 4 and 11 which both had stunning valley views. We also had room 5 which is probably considered the best room in the property, but trees blocked the valley view. Our rooms were well appointed and Frankie worked tirelessly to make our stay enjoyable by booking our tickets, organising transfers, sorting laundry etc. Dinners were also very good. Try to book rooms further up the hill as they appear to be newer and better appointed.
The property isn't great if you have mobility issues - one of our guests uses a wheelchair sometimes and they struggled, but it wasn't impossible. You should also check the location works for you. It's amazing for Zhangjiajie NP, but it's approx 1 hour from the city and 1.75 hrs from Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. We didn't mind as the national park was our main focus. There are also no other dining options close by - although dinner was excellent.

The surroundings are absolutely stunning—lush greenery, dramatic mountain backdrops, and a tranquil atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Waking up to the natural beauty of the area was one of the highlights of our stay, and the peaceful setting made it feel like a true escape from the busy world. The rooms are well-appointed, cozy, and offer a relaxing escape after a day of exploring the nearby mountains and scenic areas. The surroundings are peaceful, making it an ideal place to unwind and reconnect with nature. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was the hospitality of the staff—especially Mr. Rain. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but if we had to mention one thing, it would be that we wished there was a small fridge in the room for storing drinks or snacks. It would have added an extra layer of convenience to an otherwise excellent experience.

My sister and I stayed for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were warm and helpful, and the free shuttle to the West Gate made exploring easy. They even provided a detailed map and insider tips we couldn’t find online. The buffet breakfast was lovely and filling for exploring the national park, and the in-house tea master is so inviting, offering delicious home-grown tea and gifted us beautiful calligraphy. The room had two air conditioners, and the two large pools (including an infinity pool with sunset views) were a highlight. Special thanks to Rain, the manager, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Some insects indoors as others have mentioned, which is expected in a rural mountain setting, but staff responded quickly and without judgement.

Its perfect boutique hotel if you’re looking for top notch tranquility & hospitality of rural china. *Location: very quite, with the most amazing mountain views. *Food: sooo delicious, an authentic chinese food, even better than we had in big hotel. *Service & hospitality: More than 5 stars! Frankie & the team is super amazing. They will patiently give you all the tips to visit the region. No need to hire guide in viator, or other platforms. They will help to book the ticket, plan your day, and plus with complementary shuttle that will bring & pick you up to national park, as you want and for free!! Thanks again Frankie & team for the amazing stay!

Our family of 4 had an amazing time here. We booked two rooms and stayed during April. We loved the views and the pool, the rooms were beautiful and the staff were so friendly. Proximity to the park was very handy and the staff dropped and collected us whenever we wanted. Frankie really looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. We had great chats with the tea master and some lovely experiences with her. The walk around the rice paddies was lovely. We could have done with more time really and loved every minute.
Nothing, the place was lovely. But the park was a bit confusing as signs had different English translations on different signs. A slightly better map of the park would be helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy hotel. It is located very close to the west gate of ZhangJiaJie National Park, and the hotel manager, Rain, helped us organize a free shuttle to the entrance during our trips to the park. He also helped us book tickets for the various attractions around the area, including the National Park, ZhangJiaJie Grand Canyon, Yellow Dragon Cave. Rain was very knowledgeable about the area and even planned out the whole day's route throughout the National Park. The route he recommended allowed us to see all the best places in the national park, additionally since we travelled West to East through the park, the lines for shuttle buses and the Bailong elevator was significantly shorter, so we were able to save a lot of time. There is a small tea room near the reception where we spent each night talking to the tea master. She was very lovely and let us sample each of the flower teas that she was creating, they were all very unique and delicious! She is also a calligraphy master and wrote poems with our names to take home! The hotel has free buffet breakfast each morning and it was very delicious each time, you can also have dinner at the restaurant at an extra price. Overall all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
There is not much on the West Gate side of the National Park, so the hotel is quite secluded, if you are after a lot of night life then its not the best place. But we really enjoyed the peaceful nights here.

This place is simply amazing. The views are breathtaking and the rooms are great. Frankie is the best host you could ever ask for. He also doubles as the best tour guide! The bed was so comfy and the room was homely whilst feeling luxurious. This is a must-stay if you’re visiting Zhangjajie National Park, especially as it’s so close to the entrance, and the staff (who are all so friendly) will drive you there for free whenever you want. Breakfast was fantastic, as is the onsite restaurant. We would only stay here if visiting again, especially after a staying a night in the city somewhere else which was not even comparable! Thank you Frankie and the team for making our stay so nice!

This is a really special place. Frankie and his team at the lodge are so helpful and friendly and the location of the lodge is stunning. The lodge is located a 5 minute drive from one of the gates to the park and the team at the lodge will drive you to the gate and pick you up when you need. We ate at the lodge on both nights of our stay and we were so impressed with the food! They serve a lot of local dishes and everything we ate was delicious. One of the team makes many different types of teas and shared them all with us at the end of both days. It was a very special experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a little sanctuary in the mountains.
