This iconic hotel has been talked about by my family for over 70 years as they previously lived around the corner and this was the main place they socialised. We visited Colombia from England and added 3 nights to our trip so we could visit Barranquilla to stay at the El Prado Hotel. It has a charming elegance from the moment you arrive. The hotel is like a seaside resort hotel in the middle of a big city. Despite the age of the hotel it is kept incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. I loved the old photos inside the lifts. The breakfast had a good selection to choose from and the food was very tasty. Food at the pool bar was a good quality and well presented. The swimming pool looked so inviting so we went for a dip. The temperature was good and pleasant to be in (I hate cold pools). We would definitely visit again if we return to Colombia.

The air conditioning in the bedroom was difficult to use and everything felt damp. The shower was old fashioned but worked ok.

Spectacular gorgeous colonial hotel in Barranquilla! Beautiful charming 95 year old colonial premises, beautiful gardens, pool area. etc. Felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. Very friendly courteous professional staff. Specially Brian our very friendly courteous waiter at the pool lounge bar/rest. We felt like at home. Very comfortable clean big room, comfortable beds and free daily water bottles at room. Very delicious buffet breakfast with many different food choices and with very nice friendly staff too. Overall an amazing stay, at a very affordable price per night. Will definitely stay at this hotel again! Congratulations for having such a gorgeous clean amazing hotel in Barranquilla! Exceeded our expectations! HIGHLY recommended!

Nothing! Iis perfect! Only small detail will be for us to be able to control de air conditioner temperature in the room ourselves. Other than this it was a perfect stay!

The pool and pool bar/restaurant were great. The breakfast was wonderful. Room was very good. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had this waiter at the breakfast that went beyond with his service, He suggest special orders. My husband had a soar throat and he made a tea with ginger and honey for him. Always followed up with anything we wanted. All the staff were great. I would definitely love to go back!

Didn't find anything I didn't like. It was hot but the hotel had the doors open for the breeze and had fans around any siting area. The room had good air conditioner.

ColonialHotel was well preserved and was a vibe. Great time by the pool, bar, and dining at the resturaunt. Would reccomend to anyone. Prado is a place imo to relax and unwind. U could spend a couple days just at the hotel.

My room was connected by a door to another.. the family in the other room could be heard. This happen 1 night. I was not in the room much ao didnt really effect my trip. But perhaps could upset others.

The premises are well-maintained, the pool is stunning and the breakfast very good. We also loved the employees who were very nice and helpful, offering great service.

The noise; it was Friday night and there were weddings and celebrations happening at the same time. If it hadn’t been loud because of live music until 2 am and guests making noise until 4am, we would have had a perfect experience.

Incredibly comfortable and huge bed. The whole bedroom was up to the cleanest standards. Air cond was a blessing. Continental breakfast delicious breakfast with veggie and vegan options - finally some plant based milk! Delicious cocktails I'm the bar and amazing pool. Super nice staff. Would greatly recommend. Excellent value for money.

Sadly, the restaurant hasn't got a single vegan option in the menu which, for modern-world standards, and for a hotel of this magnitude, is really not acceptable. They were, however, very accommodating and prepared a delicious pasta with vegetables, a generous portion with the tastiest tomato sauce.

Breakfast super, beds very comfortable, pool was refreshing and fun.

For a Hotel with this history. Had to wait for ever for an ironing board. Bought a water bottle at the vending machine and was charged and ripped off. Informed the front desk AND THEY DID NOT CARE AT ALL. If the hotel allows for vending machines they need to be responsible for loss to the customer.

The location

Bathroom was old and not very well maintained. The key issue was the lack of readiness to tackle issues during checkin. We went for a wedding and we got our room 2 hours later than checkin time after complaining a lot. The staff at reception were trying to help but the manager was totally leaving them in the chaos of brides, guests etc waiting for the rooms since early. They didn’t have a proper backup plan when the electricity went out and the computer registration system couldn’t restart correctly.

Great pool, great location, great breakfast, prob the best hotel in BAQ.

Nit picking here, but the hotel isn’t as modern as some of the other hotels in BAQ. It’s part of its charm, that the hotel is almost 100 yrs old, but it doesn’t have all the amenities of a newer hotel. It’s also more expensive.

The hotel is beautiful. The green zone and the infrastructure

The cost for a pet is excessive. 45 US. They don't offer anything for them (no bed, no dishes, nothing) but they charge you the value of an additional bone. It's absurd since in other hotels of a higher category they offer things for pets and the value is much lower or it's free.
