I prefer to stay in hotels away from city centres and for this reason chose Hotel Kanarek. For me it is nice to return to a quiet non-tourist location at the end of each day. I found the hotel staff to be friendly and attentive and willing to communicate in english which was a relief as my Czech is minimal. My room was a good size with a very comfortable bed, a good size wardrobe with shelf storage, two bedside cabinets with storage, bedside lamps, a desk, desk chair and large TV with remote. The room window could be opened fully or partially opened for securing the room at night. During my stay the weather had suddenly become much warmer and a fan heater was thoughtfully placed in my room, a nice gesture. The bathroom comprised a superb shower, sink and toilet. Hand soap and cleaner were provided. The extensive buffet breakfast was excellent with a proper coffee machine (espresso possible!) , orange or apple juice, breakfast cereals, yoghurts and breads, meat and cheeses. There was also a cooked option which was pancakes , scrambled eggs, small sausages. All good and a great way to fuel up before travelling into central Praha. The area around the hotel is mainly residential housing, a school and the tram turn around / final stop at Nadrazi Hostivar. The hotel is a mere 5-minutes walk away from the tram stop which is very convenient. Tram lines #22 and #26 start / finish here. Catch the famous #22 and ride all the way to through stunning central Praha to the castle, a great way to discover the city. Catch #26 for the Hlavni nadrazi train station stop. The closest shop to purchase daily essentials such as water, snacks etc is Lidl, a mere 5 minute tram ride on either #22 or #26, hop off at either Hostivarska or Na Grosi stops (Lidl is located between these stops). A larger shopping mall with an Albert hypermarket and many other shops is located 10 minutes tram ride away at Obchobdni centrum Hostivar.

The hotel has free wifi but unfortunately in my first floor room the signal was poor with ocassional connection failures. Having said that I found the signal to be 100% reliable in the ground floor dining room area so for me not a big issue.

Everything went great. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the breakfast was good. All the staff was nice and friendly. The hotel is a bit further from the city center, but because of it, it is quite at nights. And it is very easy to go to city center or really anywhere in Prague (since there is a train station. tram station and bus station 5 mins from the hotel). All in all, I would recommend.

I had a problem with a cricket in my room. It was very loud and did not let me sleep at nights. That was the only downside to my whole stay. However, these things are unpredictable, so I would not blame it on the hotel or the staff.

Good breakfast, (and the place is not like crowded, so you will actually enjoy your meal). From my point of view, I was seeking a place near tram 22 (personal reasons) and this hotel solved my problem ... but there are actually two tram numbers (22 and 26) nearby and both can take you to the Prague center or to several Subway stations ...

Well, my room was on the top floor of the 4-floor hotel building (where no lift is installed) so, you need to count with that ...

Our experience at the hotel during our trip to Europe was truly unforgettable. We arrived to find that the parking lot was full, which could have been a frustrating situation. However, the incredibly helpful staff went above and beyond to assist us in finding alternative parking, and we were so grateful for their kindness. That’s not all, though! The Italian restaurant here looks absolutely wonderful, and my wife and I can't wait to try it. We're really looking forward to making more beautiful memories during our stay. Thank you once again for everything! ❤️

The hotel was really nice. If you don't expect luxury, it will meet your expectations. The room (double room) was quite spacious. The bed was super comfortable. Everything was clean and also cleaned regularly. The only downside for me was that the room didn't have a desk. If you plan to work from the hotel, take into account that you might need to use the tables downstairs in the restaurant for that purpose (or try to request a room with a desk as I've noticed that was one right opposite). The staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. Every interaction was very pleasant. The breakfast was superb and offered a buffet with a good choice of cheeses, meats, eggs, cereals, some vegetables and fruits, pancakes, rolls and cakes. The place has a small patio in the backyard where you can enjoy your breakfast on sunny days (I definitely did). Although the location is a bit outside of the central area, it has a great connection to the center. There is a tram station few minutes walk from the hotel (trams 22 and 26) and also a train station so really easy to move around the city.

Nothing really to complain about. The hotel is a good value for money. If you require an elevator, or air-conditioning, you might want to reconsider as the hotel doesn't have that. So think of it when you are packing your suitcase or have mobility issues. The top floor rooms might get a bit hot in summer. The room had a fan and it was OK on very hot evening but if you can't bear heat, that that into account. The only thing that I really missed in the room was a small refrigerator. Occassionally there wasn't enough parking space in the hotel parking lot, but you can still park freely in the street, so no real issue.

I've got much bigger room with bigger bed (not the small one I paid for). Hotel is located at 20min walking distance from the shopping mall VIVO! Hostivař. Good 5G Internet is available on premises. Also restaurant for lunch and dinner. Clean room, good breakfast (though it finishes at 9:30am on work days - this might be early for some guests).

Just a few things rather to note, but might be not a major discomfort: 1. No fridge in the room. 2. Personally I had very dim light in the main room - and flickering light in the bathroom (looked like intermittent voltage drops). 3. Desk space (for those who have to work remotely) - the nearest single electrical outlet is behind the hanging TV (with too narrow space); and while plugging in one has to choose between the laptop and portable lamp. 4. Soundproofing - at times you can hear people slamming the doors, going upstairs, or having a romantic night.

The staff is professional yet friendly. We appreciated the late check-in/out times, it is great that they have a restaurant, we used it most nights as we would arrive tired and hungry. The room was very clean, comfortable beds and generally quiet. You can reach any location by tram/ bus but it will be quite a journey. Free parking was very useful, supermarkets were close.

A hanger for towels and one for coats would have been useful, the ones you can hang on the door are only 5 euros :) we stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast became unbearable to eat for someone who eats only savory, the meats were of very low quality ( salami, bacon) other than that you would only have cheese, sausage and omelette, every day. More variety is needed for breakfast.The location is somewhat ok, but we couldn't find restaurants close and the journey to any point of interest in Prague will take you at least 40 minutes by public transport.

Nice modern inexpensive simple hotel with a small restaurant. The bar and food prices were very reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The terminus for trams 22 and 26 was only a short walk away.

The location is residential with little to do locally and it is some distance from the city centre but public transport is very good, especially the #22 tram which goes to tourist destinations including Prague castle and the National Theatre.

Very good value for money. It was suitable for my one-night stay. Easy to reach from the motorway. The service was adequate for the price. There is no elevator. Getting to the upper floor with a large suitcase can be challenging. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful. The staff are helpful. The dinner prepared at an additional cost was delicious and not expensive. Recommended!

Nice little hotel in the middle of a housing estate. Good breakfast, with replenished items promptly. Friendly staff, willing to accommodate.

The surroundings aren't very nice, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep, it's not a big deal. I find the price-performance ratio somewhat unbalanced. It is, after all, a 3-star hotel. I have had experiences where, for a similar price, it's possible to get a 4-star room closer to the center of Prague. Smoking guests standing right by the entrance, making it difficult to enter the hotel, is not a pleasant experience either. Perhaps I would consider setting up a smoking area somewhere else.
