I loved the setup of the room, two double beds. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Great location near Grant Park, only two blocks from an L stop (red line) and three blocks from Loop L stop. It was easy to get all over but also had some good eating options nearby. I also loved being in a historic building. View was of old building next door but what a fascinating view!

The door stuck due to heat and humidity so it sounded like we were slamming our door when we were just trying to shut it and took some wrenching to get it open. The curtain had to be held in place by a book to keep it from billowing up with AC on.

LOCATION! it's just a few steps from Chicago Downtown... you don't need to use public transportation to move around the city, everything is within walking distance. We arrived at 3 am, and Derek was there to check us in and to provide wonderful recomendations about what to see, where to go, and even where to eat, so we really appreciated his suggestions. he also provided historical facts about the building: built in 1930, it was the first hotel ever in Chicago, to offer a parking space right next to the building. The room has everything you need for your stay: plenty of space, a confy bed, clean sheets, hot water on the tub, clean towels, even a fridge to keep our Deep dish pizza leftovers! and a microwave to heat them :) also, there was a safebox too. The Blue line (airport ride) is a few blocks away and it's really easy to ride it. The hotel is a block away from Michigan Ave, so you can really enjoy the city taking a walk everywhere. For example, you can be in Millenium Park in less than 15 min

There was a sofa on the room that could be replaced, but don't let that discourage you... you don't need it :P

I recently stayed at this small, older hotel, and while it may not be the most modern, it more than makes up for it with cleanliness and outstanding service. The rooms were spotless, with fresh towels provided every day, and any small requests—like closing a window gap—were taken care of immediately. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their attentiveness and warm hospitality made my stay truly enjoyable. If you're looking for a cozy, well-kept place with great service, this is a fantastic choice!

Old furniture, old windows.

The room and the bathroom were very spacious, there was a kitchenette with a microwave, mim fridge, and a coffee maker. The beds were comfortable, there was a iron in the room, a big TV, and a lot of storage space. The location was excellent and the staff was extremely nice and helpful.

It's indeed quite shabby but I can't say that it troubled me. It felt like the housekeeping does a good job with what they have (i.e. things are shabby but not dirty). I also was ready for a much worse experience considering the reviews but it turned out being very comfortable and meeting all the needs for a business trip.

The hotel location is great as it is within the city where public transport is at reach and great location to see as a tourist are near by walking. Room is neat and tidy. I am fortunate that the room had a window with great view to the city at level 10.

Toilet had no bidet but supplemented with toilet papers. I used to live in a city where toilet had installed bidet so it is a personal factor. No co-branded restaurant to offer breakfast, lunch or dinner. However, foods are available nearby which you need to step out the hotel door to reach-out food when hungry.

Excellent location - close to the subway & bus as well as being walking distance to Lake Michigan. The building is older but our room was super clean. Beds were comfortable. Room was warm. We asked to store our luggage on the last day and the bellhops were on holiday we were told so they extended our checkout which was very kind and generous. Good value for the price.

The radiator was EXTREMELY loud, waking us up at night. We asked maintenance to look at it but despite this it was still very loud. The microwave also didn't work on the first day but they were quick to fix this.

We arrived very late in evening, and the front desk host Derrick was just such a breath of fresh air! He greeted everyone that walked in with a great smile, and genuine enthusiasm. I went with my 15 year old and Derrick gave him a history lesson about the original hotel and the amazing story behind the building and architecture. He even gave him some “homework” to turn into him. I hope he can know that we appreciated his welcoming personality and incredible love of the Harrison Hotel, and Chicago history. It’s so obvious Derrick takes pride in the position he has! I also liked the layout of the beds in the room! Seemed more personal!

The heating water pipes in the room we had were very hot to the touch and definitely not meant for families with young curious kids. I am not a kid and got curious! Lol Also first hotel room we’ve ever stayed in that had no bible in the room…

I want 2 things when I pick a place to stay when I travel: cleanliness and safety. This satisfied both in spades. Having 2 restaurants attached was a big help. The breakfast/lunch diner makes an awesome omelet!

I could tell the building had been remodeled--probably several times--so you can make the argument about things being old, or you could just call it quirks or charm. The only thing that bothered me, and this is because I'm a little nuts, is one of the paintings in the room was upside down.

The location was great. There was no free breakfast as advertised, but it's all good. This is a great location to get around, have a little Blues accross the street at the Buddy Guys' Legend. Overall I felt very safe here.

I was not here long enough for bad experiences. The owner and staff at the breakfast restaurant downstairs, however, do offer attrociously grumpy table service if you are up for "a show". Good luck getting their attention, you may get coffee after a slow *eyeroll, the owner may also shout "what you need?" across the room. shocker. Nothing to do with the Hotel tho, and breakfast was good enough to come back for more abuse the next day.
