Very close to Lillehaden ( not sure of spelling) train station if arriving from Aalborg direction. This is the final stop before Hirtshals. There is an announcement on the train just before the stop and you must then press the STOP button on the door so that the driver knows to stop at this small station. Excellent large hotel with big comfortable rooms. Very clean. Bar and restaurant facilities. Exceptional staff. Panoramic restaurant. Easy 20 minute walk to Hirtshals centre. I got the train back. Hourly. 24kr. Again you must press the stop button when there is an announcement after leaving Hirtshals. Walking distance to Smyril Line ferry to Faroe Islands and Iceland. About 25 minutes. Hotel reception extremely helpful and will order a taxi if required.

The hotel offered a comfortable stay at the end of a long train ride from Copenhagen, and before taking the ferry to the Faroe Islands. The room was very spacious. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel was a little expensive but then Denmark is expensive. The location was perfect for the Aquarium - the only thing to see in Hirtsals - but was half an hour's walk from the town centre. Fortunately the town has an excellent bus service and a bus was waiting when our train arrived. Forty 40 Danish Kroner the bus would take you to any accommodation in the town. And the bus was there to take us to the ferry terminal the next morning. Incidentally, for anyone arriving by train from Aalborg, as we did, the train makes a stop right by the hotel before going on to the port. By the time we realised, the train doors had already closed.

The restaurant dinner was very good. Location was great for ferry access and they have inexpensive long term parking to leave a car if you want to leave it while in Norway.

The room had an overwhelming floral citrus industrial chemical odor. Literally made my nose run and eyes water. We realized it was coming from a potted waxy substance placed under the bathroom counter. We moved it outside and opened the window and the outside door for 30 min and the breeze improved things immensely. If they cleaned surfaces properly and thoroughly, they wouldn’t have to mask odors with perfumed scents.

This is a lovely modern hotel. My room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was very good offering a wide choice. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.

My only quibble concerns the very slow service in the restaurant for the evening meal. I don't believe this reflects upon the staff who were very courteous but the restaurant was very busy and the waiting staff seemed overstretched.

Location is good (even though we were without a car) - walked to the hotel from one of the train stops nearby and the other walked to the Ferry terminal (to catch the Smyril Line to the Faroe Islands). Friendly staff, nice restaurant with great food, big room and cozy lobby bar. Would recommend for people travelling by the ferry to the Faroe Islands/Iceland.

Room size was great and location for our road trip. Staff were really friendly and helpful Beds very comfy and pillows too Quiet even though on the junction Restaurant good - evening meals nice (a little salty for our taste ) but lovely options - can sell out so go early! Breakfast great - good choice

Pool was too cold - probably to keep it quiet!

Breakfast was excellent and with great views. We had a ground floor dog friendly room with a outside door for easy access. Our planned late arrival was expected and they very quickly processed us and all staff were very helpful.

The shower drain produced a bad toilet smell through out our stay. there was no time to fix it before we left.

Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and offered a variety of options. I liked the fact that hotel wasn't entirely closed in the evening. You could still take advantage of the facilities offered, like bar etc.

To my liking it was a it too hot in the room. Orange juice that was served for breakfast was diluted and low quality.

A modern business-like hotel with a great location just a few hundred meters from the Hirtshals ferry terminals. The hotel is everything you need as a traveller, you can drink a beer on the terrace, breakfast is very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful - and above all its great value.

The mattress on my bed was a bit soft and sponge-like - but that’s a personal preference I guess.

We spend one night at the Skaga Hotel in preparation for taking the ferry to Kristiansand the next day. The hotel is well suited for ferry travel and the reception staffs were excellent. We were travelling with a pug dog, and they placed us in a suitable room that was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The pool and the sauna was available and very good for use. The restaurant provided a variety of local dishes that were both affordable and delicious. The breakfast was included and contained a good selection of hot and cold items. We had a very relaxed and comfortable experience with Skaga and the staff were great, friendly and provided excellent support.
