A warm welcome, a bar that is the epitome of hygge with a sophisticated twist, exceptional tapas supper, delicious breakfast with freshly baked bread and perfectly bolied eggs. And obviously, great wine! The sunny terrace is very pleasant in the late afternoon. They even gave me a packed breakfast for my early ferry. This place has a warm, old-school relaxed vibe but also feels like a treat. Worked well for a solo traveller - easy to get to Skagen and/or a day at the beach.

There was a shortage of nearby restaurants open in the evenings at the end of the seaon but good tips from the hosts.

The bed in our room was not so good as expected; as i had some problems with my knee, our room at second level was pretty hard to reach

Amazing classy property with old charm. Lovely traditional breakfast, tapas and selection of drinks in the Vinbar was great. Sitting at the terrace for breakfast or tapas was superb. Ms. Helena and all staff was extremely kind and helpful. Hopefully will come back again. Thank you.

Good old-fashioned Danish HYGGE. Super hyggeligt! I have lovely memories from my stay. Common area where I had breakfast was delightful. The owner of the place even took the trouble to introduce guests to each other when she thought they had something in common. I loved this hotel for its people. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a memorable stay.

My room was very small - but I had my own bathroom which is not that usual in an old historic building like this.

Very charming family run hotel. Excellent and friendly service. Great breakfast. Very cosy and charming wine bar where they served delicious tapas. Susana, the owner, is very helpful and gives great tips on what to do, where to eat etc. Loved it!

This is a family-run small hotel which was comfortable and has a great personality. The superior room was a good size and has all the things you need including a kettle. Breakfast is in an attractive room and had good options. Staff were great. I enjoyed my stay here. I didn’t take advantage of the wine bar but it looks cosy and welcoming.

What a delightful small hotel in a quiet and peaceful small Danish city! The proximity to the ferry is perfect, and the relaxing, charming ambiance was the best of our trip. Thank you to Susanne and her delightful team for making us feel so at home!

Good value for money. I was happy with the very clean room and bathroom. It is near the city center. The owner is very nice. I would love to stay here again next time we visit Frederikshavn 😊

My husband says the bed is “hard” maybe because the top matress is not thick. It was okay for me though

Our room (2nd floor, view to the street) and breakfast were very nice, we didn’t want to leave the place! The hotel has a charm, something very special that you will remember from the trip. Nice outdoor area to spend some time, and atmosphere of a historical building that is taken care of well. I like the materials used in the bathroom, really nice walls!

It would be nice to have one more hook in the bathroom for two towels to dry, also a hygienic shower for the toilet. Otherwise, our experience was very pleasant. 214 euro for one night is quite pricey, but the experience was good and we were travelling in high season (July).

A wonderful unique hotel run with obvious dedication by the family owners and staff. So much thought has obviously gone in to so many things, be it decor, room comforts, food, etc.
