Staying at the Scandic Reef was truly delightful. I found the ambiance and surroundings to be wonderful, and my son had a fantastic time at the water park. Melissa's exceptional customer care left a lasting impression on me—her warmth and genuine hospitality were incredibly heartening. I look forward to returning again in the future.

Throughout my stay, I was unfortunately unwell, which limited my ability to fully engage in activities. I mostly consumed hot water, tea, and fruits for breakfast due to my condition, while my son was able to enjoy his breakfast. Despite my illness, I'm grateful that my son could still make the most of his time at the Scandic Reef.

The hotel was great, especially since it had a water park and all kinds of entertainment. The hotel had everything we needed, the breakfast buffet was great. The staff was nice and the service was great. The location was great. We will choose this hotel again and recommend it to everyone.

There was no minibar or electric kettle in the room so you had to pay for tea or coffee or drinks.

The reception desk was the best ever. They were helpful, kind etc. The wellness part of the hotel was great it is good with kids, the weekend was a little bit full so I would recommend the weekdays. Although the kitchen forgot to prepare our food boxes but the lady at the reception was really helpful and solved the problem at midnight.

The cleaning of the rooms are not on daily base just if you order it. A little fridge on the rooms would be great.

Something for everyone. Both kids (2 & 6) got to enjoy age suitable pools.

The layout I suppose. The locker and shower rooms felt very “maze” like. It felt confusing on where to go to enter the waterpark and how to come back to the lobby for us who were first timers. Also the pool water could had been warmer. Would had liked if the elevator in the lobby was not the only way to get to the waterpark. So that you wouldn’t had to cross (in your swimwear and towels) both the bar and lobby filled with dressed guests just to get reach the elevator that actually led to the waterpark.

This is a big hotel in the downtown area of Frederikshavn, a stone's throw from the ferry terminal and the naval port. I had a decent-sized room, a good breakfast and the staff was very friendly.

The decor is a bit quirky, with a distinctly nautical theme. I was there for work out-of-season, but I think it is more holiday-oriented than intended for business travellers. It's fine, but know what to expect.

1) The Pool areas is a dream for parents and kids... The photos only show 20% of the dream, you're about the enjoy. 2) Breakfast is a solid 8/10! 3) Staff leave you alone. 4) The Arab (or was he Turkish?) barman is an absolute legend and lets you take the drinks to the outdoor hottub.

It should be closer to Copenhagen. And there should be one in every city on earth!

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Brilliant staff that made my kids very excited to be there. Immaculate hotel which is super clean and tidy. Cannot fault. The water park is the icing on a very tasty cake!

Breakfast was excellent, facilities at the hotel are also excellent… especially if you have children with you.

Fly on the ointment was the bed. Worst mattress we have ever experienced. Too soft and some sort of form filling that left us both sore and uncomfortable. This would be the only reason we would not stay there again… everything else about the hotel was excellent. Probably personal preference so no reflection on anything the hotel did or didn’t do.

Fancy and nice. The Reef Pool was amazing (with a cool slide, bar and resturant inside). They had a cinema (that we did not try). The room was big. The breakfast was amazing.

The room was to hot. They had to fans we used, but still, it was very warm. The bunk bed tiped in against the wall if a person is to close to the wall. Had to pay for parking.

Lovely clean and big rooms, friendly staff and amazing facilities to relax in the indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzis, sauna and steam room. There are also great restaurants and cafes around the hotel to eat out at night.

The birds are really noisy at sunrise and woke me up a few times but can't be helped staying next to a port. Ear plugs dealt with the issue.
