The landscape of Boca Chica has changed much since our first visit to this seaside town nearly 30 years ago. The narrow streets have gotten smaller with modern traffic. The increase in population has produced more pollution in all parts of this once sceanic gem. The beaches can no longer be seen from the roadway. Many of the previous access points are now blocked off by new construction between old rows of hotels and motels in various stages of repair. The pulic beach has been reduced to a narrow strip by the erosion of the sea, and the wall of craftsmen, pedlers, and foods stands that line coast to earn a living. Hotel Agua Dulce really lives up to its name. It is a small and sweet oasis of tranquility in the middle of a rapidly changing town. It remains a safe place to relax, refresh, and enjoy traditional service with a smile in the company of friends and family.

The hotel is convenient for people with their own transport going to the airport. They can arrange taxis during the day, but not late-night taxis. It was clean, and staff were friendly and very patient with our broken Spanish. Everything within the walled enclave was great.

The immediate surroundings are a bit grim--trash-strewn empty lots, barbed wire, concrete walls, etc. There was lots of loud music until late at night. Boca Chica has seen better days; there are better beaches in the D.R., but this is OK if you need a place to stay before an early morning flight.

Clean rooms; secure; value, dining options; pool; air conditioning; proximity to a supermarket, money exchange, other dining establishments, and the beach.

Breakfast portions dwindled as the week went on. Limited appliances in the room. The A/C in the larger bedroom had difficulty keeping the entryway and bathroom cool. Pool closes at 9 pm unless you are the owner's family.

This was a little oasis and a perfect stopover in between transits to and from the airport. We arrived very late in the evening, and they greeted us and were very gracious to welcome us and set us up in our rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. With morning, we were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast overlooking the pool area, and were able to enjoy swimming in pool prior to checkout. Checkout was easy. We will return!

Big room, a/c, queen bed and single bed. Nice staff. ole supermarket 10 minutes away, with a clothing store, Pollo fast food close by. They also provide lots of bottled water, it has a small fridge, security box, and scan key for the door. Bed was comfortable.

The neighbourhood looks like it can be a bit sketchy at times, but they have a locked fence, and storage on property which is good. The bathroom has a bit of an odour but that is how it is all around the D.R so that is something they can not control. It was a nice bathroom and was clean. A warm blanket. Only comes with a sheet.

Good place to stay if you have early/late flight. Friendly people. The size of the room was decent. Value for money was good.

The neighborhood didn't look inviting for leisurely walking. Pretty loud at night, e.g., people partying in the neighborhood, barking dogs, probably poor soundproofing. We managed to park in front of the property, but there is no designated parking, so if you're not that lucky, you'll have to park elsewhere (see above about the neighborhood).

The property is beautifully decorated with plants. It is small with a homey vibe. Our assigned room had adequate space and all the appropriate amenities for our convenience. It is unclear if the room sizes vary. We truly appreciated the fact that the Wi-Fi was highly functional. It certainly helped us out in a major way when our portable Wi-Fi failed us. The complementary breakfast was available between 8:00 am and 9:30 am. It incorporated real eggs. The staff is friendly and the hostess spoke enough English to make conversation easier.

The breakfast was very basic without much opportunity to make changes. It wasn’t the most tasty but it wasn’t the worst. There was no water running through the tap on the day after we checked in. We were told that the water would be back after a few minutes but it never came back; at least not before we had to check out. No attempt was made to provide us with additional bottled water for this inconvenience. We ended up going to the nearby beach to for access to water. That part was fun and relaxing.

We arrived at SDQ just before midnight. We arrived to Agua Dulce after 1AM. We were expected and greeted with open arms. It was a relief arriving that late and having a place to stop before heading east in the morning. The property could be described as boutique. With rooms surrounding a pool and jacuzzi. The rooms are exceptionally well appointed with modern fixtures and even a wifi controlled expanding LED ceiling fan. The bathroom was very large and clean. Between the staff and quality of the property we would definitely stay here agian.

All was awesome. The only downside would be for those driving in, as there is only street parking available.

Host very Friendly, made to feel welcome, and the staff always greeted us with a smile, spacious room, large TV Modern Bathroom, will book there another time

I cant find any negative points, me and the wife seemed to want to be at the bathroom mirror together, so only as a suggestion, a mirror in the bedroom would be usefull

We received water and juices in our refridgerator which was awesome. Room was modern, clean and spacious. Loved our bathroom. Host was nice and checked in to ensure we had all we needed.

The breakfast options were limited but it's not all-inclusive so we won't complain. Not all staff are able to communicate in English.
