The hotel is beautiful, and the upgrades are noted - it made a historical hotel feel modern. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. The location is very quiet and you feel secluded in the heart of the capital. One evening, a pianist and violinist were playing in the lobby, and they were wonderful. The restaurant on-site is dependable, and the breakfast was good as expected. The gym has enough equipment for a vacation workout.

The beds advertised as queens; they were not queen-sized, but double - I would have chosen a different room if it had been described accurately. Great for one person only - sharing with my 12-year-old, it was too small. We would have all fit better in a king.

The hotel was huge. The staff were polite. Lots of things to do onsite duch as gym, small store downstairs, pool and casino. Front desk ladies & gentlemen were very understanding as i called them a few times. The after 11pm menu's fiend chicke. Wings and fries were excellent. My room was very clean and the cleaning staff were polite. The ambassador lounge was so awesome. Very clean and large variety of finger foods to eat along wkth a great outside view.

The fact that the gym could've been bigger & not only did you have to walk to the back of the hotel but also outside behind the pool to get to it. Way too far. The after 11pm menu was on a QR code when i believe most people like a handheld paper menu. The first night there the lighting in the room did not work correctly. The maintenance man had to open an electric box and bang on it for it to work. Lastly, the on-site restaurant. It was beautifully prepared, but i had the steak, and it sucked. No seasoning and it was very chewy. I think the staff needs to learn how to make a steak.

Everything. Location, food, room service. Everyone spoke English. Free parking!

The coffee machines in the rooms are terrible, or at least in the room I was in. It worked with coffee pods and the color of what came out of it was more like slightly colored water. My only recommendation to the management is if possible to replace them with coffee capsules from the same brand

Property is well kept, updated, clean, and has all amenities you could need. The staff is exceptionally nice and cordial. Pool area is relaxing and gardens are just amazing. I love to stay here.

The breakfast was the same options every day and sometimes the hot food was at room temperature. I also had lunch at the same restaurant once and had to ask for the food to be re-heated. That should be improved.

I and my companion always use this hotel and the room is always pleasant and clean to sue. Breakfast is very good too but I hope it has more variety of menu.

I've been using this hotel for about 2-3 times a year for I would say over 7 years now. But there was one time I needed to cancel the booking (through cheaptickets.com)and I spoke to the rep but didn't get approval. I still have that booked for coming July and I wish to cancel it if you can help me.

The room we sparkling clean and so beautiful. The hotel overrall was very clean. The wait staff very nice and professional.

The food wasn’t that good. The service in itself was great as the people were very nice. But the actual food, most of them tasteless, i had ordered a burger from room service, it came raw to my office. Completely raw. Although when i called back they replaced it with something else at no charge and they even sent a complimentary dessert. But I have definitely had much much better food from big hotels like this.

The hotel is well positioned. It is very close to several very good restaurants walking distance.

I have been going to the hotel for several years and I am starting to see that the hotel needs some small repairs and some maintenance to keep up with the standards

My last time staying here was 18 years ago, and then 38 years ago, we visited this hotel a lot because 40 years ago my dad stayed in this hotel for a long period of time (I forgot how many days exactly), so this is a very special place for our family. A lot of memories here. Still a beautiful hotel and nice staff. Although it's an old hotel, the renovated rooms are very comfortable and the lobby is welcoming. Love it!! I will stay here next time when I come to Santo Domingo again.

For the most part, it was clean. The food was decent. I liked the variety of fruits. Lastly, the bed was comfortable.

The staff was not friendly nor polite. You would greet them and they didn’t respond. This was awkward. The room we were first given had one bed when it was clearly stated, we needed two beds. Therefore, we had to be moved to another room. It was quite disturbing and upsetting.
