The bed was super comfortable and really beautiful crisp white cotton sheets The manager was really helpful and friendly, she booked appointments in town for me for beauty treatments, which I was super satisfied with, I felt I could turn to her for anything I needed and she’d get it done. I chose to spend my birthday here and had a room with a mountain view :) I unfortunately didn’t have the time to use the facilities, the spa or the jacuzzi in my room

Exceptionally clean and bright hotel. The decor and artwork are very pretty. The upstairs has a jacuzzi and sauna area that we discovered on the last morning. We would love to return to try it. The staff were very nice and the location is great for walking to town.

We came on a very busy weekend of the festival so the hotel was fully booked and there isn't much of a sound buffer. The second night was much better and quiet which is probably more normal.

Breakfast consisted of eggs, fruit, coffee, juice and a sandwich, all very good. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. I felt safe walking during the day to the main cathedral and parque. The natural beauty of the area is a plus, as Ibarra is surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Location near city centre and restaurants is excellent. Very safe area. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Perfectly clean.

Management lady offered us another accommodation, because the shown and offered rooms are by far smaller than 12 - 18 m². Including the bathroom max 10 m². Front desk lady in backpackers hotel was very friendly.

We booked a room with 16 m², but it was much smaller. Incl bathroom max 10 m². First the woman from front desk didn't believe me. I recognised she had no idea how to calculate m². Then a woman from the management showed up with the house keeping man. He brought a meter stick to teach me what's the right room size...... Finally I had to teach the management and hotel staff how to use it and calculate the result. 16 m² means each side 4 m long. Well, 2,8 x 3 m..... that was the result. Including the bathroom max 10 m². Management lady explained me, that she made the calculation by foot steps. Because she's isn't tall, she had to do 4 steps. But by far she didn't do a one meter step. So she excuses herself and offered me another hotel she's running. Backpackers Hotel not far away from the Hostal del Rio. Ask for those rooms there, if the room in Hostal del Rio doesn't fit to your expectations. I am writing that review and those lines, because 5 days after our stay and room problem the m² declarations are still the same. Coffee at Breakfast was cheap quality.

The location is great. The staff is super helpful. The relationship expectation to price is exceeded easily. The breakfast was good. I did add some canela sticks from my own. During our visit, we needed buy a medicine and the manager took 5 minutes to order from the pharmacy at 11PM for just a $2 tip to the driver. They go the extra mile. Love it. Accommodations are hostel like but neat and tidy with everything packed in a cozy place.

Need a towel for the floor, so I asked for an extra one. Showers facing the door make everything wet. No much noise isolation. Everything bearable.

Comfortable,.modern place with friendly people. Room was small but tidy and comfortable. There is also a communal terrace and some nice seating areas. There is a steam room and jacuzzi for a small extra charge. Filter coffee was nice and they will make you one on demand for $1.

Bed and room were small. Had a.lot of hassle with shower. Water ran very hot or cold and hard to get a comfortable temo. Shower pressure was very good so it was a pity.
