We had absolutely great time, evenings by the fireplace in the room after a nice dinner in the hotel's restaurant—mornings in their swimming pools. The staff is gorgeous, they bring little treats and are always there if you need anything. The room is big, there is a big comfortable bed and they give you hot water bottles for the night since it gets chilly in this mountain region. That little town where the hotel is - is quite cute and a very safe place to be.

The peacock garden is such a unique experience. We loved the different areas to eat meals - breakfast in a cozy cottage building overlooking the peacock garden, and lunch and dinner in a different beautiful building overlooking the garden. The staff went above and beyond to assist us when our luggage was delayed. Each night we returned to our room to find turndown service and a fire crackling in the hearth. We stayed at 4 different accommodations during the course of our 10-day tour of Ecuador and Galapagos and this was hands down our favorite. If we find ourselves in Ecuador again in the future, we would go out of our way to stay here again.

I had been to La Mirage once before for a lunch and knew that it was a very special place. For me, I love the fact that it is set in gardens that are extensive, well cared for, Innovative in places and make me feel very good. Staying overnight in a suite was especially nice as the rooms are beautifully decorated, even with artwork from the owner, spacious with a delightful separate sitting area and a huge bathroom. All was very elegant and extremely relaxing. If one is looking for something very special in Ecuador, La Mirage maybe your place.

On the desk in my room, was considerable information about the property. But there was no information available on the detailed spa services, nor on the restaurant facilities including a menu or hours of service. That would have been helpful in case we wanted to take in additional services.

There aren’t enough words to describe La Mirage! Beautiful, luxurious, an oasis!! my suite was one of the larger boutique garden houses located along lush tree and flower lined pathways that wind through the grounds. Mine was near the swimming pool spa, and full-service luxury spa… Every morning was a delight to wake up in a luxurious suite with gorgeous canopy bed, with comfortable bench seat at the foot, adjoining living room with fireplace looking out onto private Garden Terrace with two chair canopy patio table outside, beautiful bathroom with sunlit tile shower, nice big vanity with sinks for dressing in the morning. Getting up and out for breakfast meant walking along a flower lined pathway to a garden house filled with windows, where a delicious breakfast was served overlooking the rear gardens with ponds, fountains, garden patio seating areas, and a pathway to a small forested area behind the hotel. enjoying coffee while watching hummingbirds buzz around their feeders, tropical birds in the trees, and a small colony of the hotels white and coloured peacocks roaming the grounds. The staff was wonderful, very accommodating and helpful, always a cheerful greeting and a welcome smile whether at breakfast, offering to drop off coffee and snacks at my suite to enjoy on the outdoor terrace for an afternoon siesta, Stopping by to let the word fireplace in the room, serving an amazing meal for dinner in the (I would give it five stars) hotel restaurant, or just walking around the property enjoying “tranquillo” of my stay.

it’s a higher end hotel with no others like it in town, so yes it comes with luxury hotel prices but…. Wish I could’ve moved in and stayed as a resident. Well worth treating myself!

Facilities are incredible. We enjoyed the amazing Spa, the gardens and chimeney spots with a great wine. Staff is very well trained to serve and make a perfect guest experience. Food is really amazing. The chef explained to us that he have been serving deliciousness over the last 30 years in the hotel. We felt very spoiled the entire weekend !!! Also you will enjoy nature with huge gardens with peacocks, birds and frogs.

I really didn't find anything wrong that need attention from the hotel. My suggestion is that, if you are in a mood of party or socializing with noise, this place will not be your better choice. You will have a relaxing and quiet ambient that will recharge your energy during your entire stay...

What a absolutely stunning oasis! we booked this hotel while we were house hunting in the area. We’ve stayed in countless hotels in many countries and have never felt so pampered. The staff take care of the smallest details from giving you helpful information to sending someone to light your fireplace in the evening. Clemencia and Euphenia in reception are incredible! Each suite is set privately in your own garden. Wandering the tiled pathways throughout the mature gardens, flitting hummingbirds and strutting peacocks greet you. Breakfast is served in the morning room with classical music, rose strewn crisp white tablecloths and peaceful views of trickling fountains, lush lawns and resplendent peacocks. The breakfast is served by lovely staff in authentic dress. There are multiple courses, fresh fruit, unique juices, croissants and sweet breads and your choice of eggs. Dinner is served in the dining room full of interesting Ecuadorian antiques. The menu is interesting and varied and the dining experience is romantic.

exquisite gardens and grounds. Beautiful peacocks wandering the property. the dinning rooms are just lovely. we were upgraded to a magnificent suite. The same exact room we stayed in 4 yrs ago!

This is a fine and beautiful boutique hotel which is located located near the Otobalo Indian Market in a green and flourishing mansion where beautiful peacocks are freely scattered. The hotel serves chef meals and the spa offers excellent treatments. The service is courteous and majestic. Vacation from the dreams.

everything was perfect

the grounds were beautiful. the staff very attentive and the food very good.

the pool was a bit cold and some of the information was not up to date. eg it said that there were far more spa treatments available than there were.

it was a beautiful environment that was beautifully cared for.

our weather was not great but one cannot blame that on the hotel
