We had come here once on a group tour. We came in late and left early, and ever since, I was haunted by the fact that there were so many undiscovered things that I felt I wanted to see; so we came back with friends and stayed for 2 days. This incredible, historic site has nooks and crannies to explore, lush gardens to walk through, horseback riding, and hiking paths. If you can get to hear the music of the Waukees, an indigenous band, you will hear the whispers of their ancestors in the melody. I love thus place!

The little pub is only open briefly and on occasion. I would love to see regular cocktail hours there. It is unique, beautiful, interesting, and comfortable.

The staff here absolutely made our trip! They went out of their way to be kind to us and our girls. Oscar did so many fun things for our kids and the manager on duty (I’m so sorry I forgot her name!) was unbelievably kind and made us feel at home. It is a historic property so there’s no heat but the fires they lit every night were lovely and with the hot water bottles we stayed plenty warm. The breakfast was good and the ground are absolutely serene and stunning. The restaurant was quite a bit overpriced and very average food, not quite worth the money, but everything else was wonderful. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Authentic, beautiful old hacienda, set in delightful sloping grounds, with views to mountains either side. We had probably the best room, no 7. Lovely public rooms. Very helpful staff. Nice vibe. Excellent location. We had 4 nights and could have managed a fifth. The rim walk around the crater lake Cuicocha was one of the best day hikes in our life 10/10 wow. 5 hours solid walking. Horse riding and Condor centre also good - 8/10. Otavalo market OK 7/10 and worth going to on a Saturday but. Food was so good we didn’t bother to eat in Octavalo.

A little noisy at night

The people! Kind staff, lovely owner, authentic, working Hacienda! Beautiful grounds with horses trotting around. Lovely buildings & delicious food. NYE party was so much fun!!! Would stay again!

Only to be helpful—Cleaning fluids are very powerful. Maybe unscented? It was very cold over NYE & unfortunately we did not get a hot shower in our room. Perhaps just so much use during the holiday. Worth the stay regardless!! Lovely spot near Otavalo.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean. Our room was spacious and the grounds are expansive. We loved the welcome reception and had multiple favorable experiences with John (and the horses) and Cristian, our tour guide and driver during our stay who went above and beyond for us.

The location was too far to walk to Otavalo and didn't have other restaurant options within walking distance. As we stayed for a few nights, we didn't want to eat dinner at the restaurant on the property every single night so it required planning to ensure we either ate out before returning to the hacienda or that we contract a taxi ($3-4 each way to/ from Otavalo).

Unbelievable staff who were always preset and ready to accommodate. Independent local guide, Christian, who was recommended by the hotel, gave us an outstanding customised tour. There's so much to see in the area, but much can only be uncovered with a guide like Christian. The price he charges is very reasonable.

The horse trail riding option didn't pan out for our larger group. They did not have enough horses fit to purpose (our estimation). May be good for a few riders on their better horses, though.

Fantastic place! Magical and with a lot of historical legacy. They were super caring and loving hosts. The whole stay was an excellent experience!

Since it is an historical building, the rooms have some opportunities for improvement at the entrance doors and the light circuits.

The hacienda is the perfect blend of great hospitality, history and beauty. The staff could not have been better. They were efficient and friendly. It is a very peaceful place to stay.

The wine list could be better!

It is a beautiful, historical farm house. Very elegant. The manager greeted us the afternoon with canelazo and empanadas, to the sound of local musicians and explained the history of the farm.
