Easy to find, great location on the Camino route through the Old Town, a beautiful historical building & gardens, lovely bedroom with fridge, double sinks, nice bathroom products & a bath, grand interior with sitting rooms, garden terrace, bar & a restaurant, amongst terrific cafes, shops & places of interest

It was special however when checking in we didn't feel very welcome as pilgrims after walking 18km in the heat, check-in took a very long time with 3 staff working on person one checking out & there was no offer from staff to use a seated waiting area, which would have been most appreciated.

Beautiful building, lovely reception from reception staff. Our room was made ready earlier than expected and despite me not booking a twin room the staff managed to find us one.

The breakfast was delicious but room very busy and staff looked a little stressed. Although they were kind when we asked for more water etc… A bit of a ‘free for all’ with everyone ‘grabbing food’ and wasn’t offered hot food by staff despite having found out after eating there was hot food. Not offered tea (I don’t drink coffee). I would suggest that the purpose of the tongs on the table is explained as there were no serving cutlery at the buffet and caused more to grab at food!!!

This was a rest day stop for us on the Camino and we stayed 2 nights, This was the second Parador we stayed at on our Camino and this Parador hotel was much more of what we expected of a Parador. Our room had some distinctive charm we had hoped for. The hallways and gathering areas had old world decorative elegance and furnishings. The old town location in Pontevedra is nice and safe. We did not choose dinner at this Parador since we wanted an outside of the old town "locals" experience. First night dinner - Semplice. Trattoria Italiana (very nice - 10 minute walk), Second night - Pizzaría NONNA CLARA trattoria (a very nice owner and the pizza was good).

We had breakfast once at this Parador and we thought is was way too expensive for what you get! The front desk staff seemed overworked and sometimes they would get distracted by a phone call (and answer it) leaving us waiting. The front desk staff had very little to say about the local attractions (like they didn't care where we went to sight-see.) We could hear the bar patrons down the street late into the night.

The location is great. Pontevedra is a beautiful city, especially the old city, and we wanted to stay in the old city. The building itself if charming and met our expectations of a Parador. The real problem was the lack of staff. Getting a drink was a real mission, and no one helped us with our luggage. We chose not to eat breakfast, or dinner, in the hotel as there are so many cafes and restaurants to chose from.

The real problem was the lack of staff. Getting a drink was a real mission, and no one helped us with our luggage. They also don't turn the A/C on until June 1st - despite it being advertised as having air conditioning, so if you go in May you had better hope the weather isn't too hot. It was just about OK in our room, but we didn't sleep too well due to it being a bit warm, and the bed was VERY hard.

Absolutely stunning historic villa in the most prime location in Pontevedra's old city; there isn't a better choice for history buffs (or Camino de Santiago walkers; it's also right on the Way.) The concierge staff is absolutely lovely! They were warm and welcoming and helped us resolve multiple small things in fluent English and German. Super hospitality. The room was a large suite with full bathtub, sitting room, wardrobe, desk and large bed. Vintage Spanish design with modern touches; everything very clean and proper. I loved the big old iron key to our room; very atmospheric. We slept wonderfully and I really appreciated the antiques and original building features on display; I felt like a medieval countess.

It lacks a little bit in terms of facilities I've found at other Paradores... the bar and restaurant are tiny, there is no spa or wellness, or really anything else. That's fine if you're mostly focused on enjoying the old town (would recommend eating out, lots of great options in the city). Service in the bar was friendly but options very basic (no mixed cocktails for example, and not really a menu of options anywhere so you just sort of need to know what you want and order something simple, like wine.) Service at breakfast was a little disinterested and hard to engage with, but they also offer made to order eggs and bacon if you ask for it (like other paradores). Breakfast selection a bit small and limited.

It was a place of character (and creaking floorboards) The surrounding buildings of Pontevedra were in keeping with the historic ambience. The room was large, the bathroom very good, the bed huge and comfortable.

The hotel was a bit of a maze, and hard to find what you were looking for, or get to where you wanted to go. In the late evening (after 11 p.m.) the noise from TV and guests in a neighbouring bedroom was unacceptably intrusive. Reception was pleasant and quite efficient but overwhelmed by demand for their attention.

The spacious room and sense of the history of the building. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Museo de Pontevedra nearby. We were deeply impressed by the quality of the exhibits and their world class setting.

No fault of the parador, but the graffiti on so many buildings nearby was sad to see. Having to park the car in an underground car park some distance away was mildly annoying, but understandable given the no car policy in Pontevedra

wonderful two nights at this Parador. A little bit of luxury during our Camino trip. Beautiful building and very helpful staff. Lots of little areas and space to sit and have some quiet time. Beds really comfortable and what wonderful sheets!

There was nothing that I didn't like. However, by the way of useful feedback - I am leaving this piece of feedback for all the accommodation that we stayed at during the Camino walk. It would have been nice to have had a ‘foot spa’ in the room. Even something as simple as a basin and some ‘bubble bath/foot wash’. Of course we have a shower, but after a full day’s walk, it is nice to be able to ‘soak’ the feet for 10 or 15 mins. This could be done so cheaply, and have a great effect.

I love to stay in Paradors if possible when in Spain so I booked this parador for my Camino walking friends and me. Pontevedra is a great town and this parador is very nicely located to see all the points of interest in town. You can see the history thoughout the hotel. The hotel staff was kind to arrange a taxi ride that would sit and wait for us as we toured the monastery of Xoan de Poio so we could see the huge mosaic mural of the Camino (it was spectacular). We would be walking past the monastery the next day, but it would be closed- so taxiing out and back was our only option. The rooms at the hotel were comfortable.

Comfortable stay in a grand old house in a quiet part of the old city. Service is to notch, decor is tasteful, and the ambiance is grand. This is the third time we have stayed here, and we will certainly come back.

This being an old house, the staircases to the various floors are not in logical places. Signage for emergency evacuation could be better. I had to ask. Emergency maps do not indicate clearly where you are.
