I used the onsen area every morning and evening. It seemed to be more empty in the mornings and seemed to be used more by the women (you can see how full the onsen areas are by the symbols on your tv in the hotel room). I loved the onsen. The hotel is near the station, you have to walk uphill a bit with bags to get to the hotel, but it was easy to get to the train station after the hotel stay because that was downhill. Storing bags before and after my stay was easy with their QR code system. The staff provided new towels and yukatas every morning even when I didn't ask for them so there was never a shortage.

The room was truly the smallest room I've ever stayed in but I quickly adapted. I had to have the window open to cool down the room - and I could hear all the train noises - so maybe request a room on the opposite side of the hallway with the window opening NOT on the side of the train station. My room was an even number - next time will request an odd number or ask which side doesn't face the train station.

The location of the hotel was excellent! While in the perfect in the middle of the metro line - meaning it was not too far from any of the main metro areas, it had the benefit of being in a quiet area. The hotel stood on its own but a <3 minute walk to the metro, to a 7/11! And a nice set of restaurants and bars - highly recommend bar Moo for a quiet drink and the gyoza restaurant nearby stays open until 3am has delicious and great food - would be perfect if you had a late arrival! The room was so clean, fresh robes and towels everyday and lots of essentials provided. While small there was enough space for us as a tall couple. The onsen was fabulous open early and late to start and end a busy day in Tokyo. Very clean and well-stocked again. Would 110% stay here if I were to visit Tokyo again.

We enjoyed the location. Quick walk from the otsukaeki yamanote line. The area isn't as popular as shibuya, shinjuku etc so after a long day it's a chill walk to the hotel. Our room had nice views of the city and we could even see Mt Fuji in the distance!

These rooms are very small. I understand this is tokyo and pretty standard but I was expecting a bit more I guess. We weren't allowed to turn the AC on which it seems might be standard as well. Otherwise everything was good.

APA hotel chain is always a great choice. Affordable prices, good location, always near a train or subway station. Rooms are very clean and confortable. Don't expect a lot of space or storage. Staff is professional and English speakers. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days, good move for the planet!

They give you fresh towels every day via a plastic bac on your door, even if you don't need it. Continue to improve this point for the planet.

Nice location, just 2 min walk to JR otsuka station which then connect you you everywhere in tokyo and Japan itself. Second time staying at this hotel after my autumn visit last year. Close to many eateries as well. Quiet and staff is very responsive. However one thing i don't like is that everyone can access your laundry if you are doing it. Need to closely monitor your clothes/inner wears. I had my clothes taken out from the dryer without my permission. So my privacy is compromised in this matter. Didn't encounter this the previous time I stay, guess it's the guest itself lacking some ethical manners. Staff quickly responded to my slight displeasure but there is nothing they can do, which is understandable. This is the only annoyance I had with the hotel. Other than that, highly recommended!!

This hotel was a great choice during my trip to Tokyo. The location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk from the JR station, with most tourist attractions accessible within 15-25 minutes by train. The room was spacious by Japanese standards, and the luggage storage under the bed was a practical addition that made the space more functional. The hotel also features an onsen on the top floor, and they provided stickers to cover my small tattoos, allowing me to use the facility without any issues. Other convenient amenities included a washer and dryer, as well as a Lawson right next door. The proximity to shops, cafes, and restaurants at the nearby train station was another advantage. Overall, this hotel offered a convenient and comfortable stay. I would choose it again for my next visit to Tokyo.

The location is very near to otsuka jr station which then can connect you to anywhere in tokyo. The hotel is nearby to convenience stores and dining izakayas and restaurants. Clean and facilities were great as usual for the brand APA hotel and resorts.

Somehow, i didnt get any bottled water in my room, i always had bottled waters in my room for my stays with many APA hotels throughout Japan. Would have given it a 9 if i had it. I hope this hotel management can take note.

I've stayed with APA before, even stayed in a different one this trip. You know what you're getting with APA. The rooms are compact but I still find them big enough for myself and my 2 large suitcases. The beds are comfy, theres a nice big desk and a fridge to fill with snacks. I really liked how the TV showed you how busy the onsen was and I did visit on one of the days, both the main bath and the outside one. The location is good very close to the Yamanote line and only a 15min walk to Sunshine city in Ikebukuro.

Its a really big hotel with 19 floors of rooms, I found that I sometimes had to wait a while for an elevator.

location was perfect, just a stone's throw away from Otsuka station. convenience stores are all over, perfect to catch the usual conbini runs and late night food cavings. there is even a don quixote at the other side of the station! although the rooms are cleaned every 3 days, one can always request daily making up of the room at no extra charge. towels are fresh daily, as well as the coffee and usual amenities, distributed in a plastic bag in each room. the onsen is a plus! leaving the luggages was smooth as there are now QR codes. the area is quiet, perfect ending to a bustling day into the usual tourist spots.

Great location. I have stayed here many times. Walking distance to Ikebukuro, easy access to to the Yamanote line, lots of food, grocery store, and combini options close by, a small shopping mall at the station, and a few coin laundry locations too. Beats the bustle of Shinjuku and Shibuya anyday and there is easy access to all of the busyier districts. APA is a clean, friendly, reliable chain in Japan. If you know Japanese hotels, traveling alone, and understand the concept of high-end efficiency, then APA is never a bad choice. Larger APA rooms for couples are ok but APA is best for solo traveling.

They can be a bit pushy about housekeeping every thrid day. Sometimes it just isn;t conveient to be out exactly hen they need to clean. But it's Japan...flexibility is not their strong point.
