It's hard to find a hotel/ apartment that caters to families with kids. That's why we chooses Mimaru for this! Furthermore, the room is spacious and still has room for me and my family to pray (I'm a Muslim traveller). The staff was friendly and helpful too. The laundry facility is also good. Aside from that, Mimaru Tokyo Ikebukuro is just a few mins walk from the limousine bus station, which we really like. This means we don't have to go through the hassle of changing train/bus. We will definitely stay in Mimaru Tokyo Ikebukuro again on our next trip to Tokyo!!

So much space! We were so surprised with the amount of space. We are a family of 4 with two teenage boys. We had a top floor 2 bedroom 2 bath, with Kitchen and living room. For Tokyo the amount of living space was amazing! Even Don Quixote is 3 blocks away! Staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped me book my taxi/van to Narita. Also, we travelled from Kyoto so they received my shipped luggage a day early and delivered it to my room before we checked in.

Not much draw back. There is no restaurant which is not that big of a deal since there is a kitchen. It does get busy during checkout. The location is about 10 minute walk from JR which isn't that bad. Neighborhood is a normal Tokyo area. Seems sketch at first but felt very safe as you got the lay of the land.

Good facilities provided (booked gaming room). Plenty of space to sort our luggage after every shopping trip (we opened 3 big luggage simultaneously). AC, microwave, kitchen stove, fridge were sufficient for our needs as we wanted to cook. Kitchen utensils also provided in the room. Pajamas, toothbrush and other goods can be requested at the main desk. Nearest station is about an 8 minute walk with multiple stores to along the way. Plenty of restaurants nearby and convenience stores to stock up on snacks. There is a supermarket nearby (3 minute walk) for discounted food. Clear and exceptional communication from the staff; they provided us taxi options as we had 10+ luggage to haul back to the airport. Definitely will book again with a group when we return to Tokyo!

Minor complaint: Keyboards could've used a clean as they were quite dusty. Other than that, our stay was excellent!

Staff were really helpful and nice. English communication was very good. Facilities like the washing machine and guest lounge were very appreciated, while little touches like free umbrellas, goodies, and luggage delivery were very useful.

Location is okay. A good aspect is that it's in a fairly quiet area about 10 mins walk to the station. It's on the western side - I think most travellers would prefer the east side where there are more large shops and easier access to sunshine city and animate. But we didn't mind it, I think this property is generally nicer than the ones on the eastern side at comparable prices.

We stayed in a room with 2 beds and 2 futons and it was spacious enough for 4 people and suitcases, which is not always the case in Japan. The hotel itself is very clean and pleasant and they have all the amenities one needs. Initially, we were worried about the location but it felt perfectly safe and was not too long of a walk to the station.

Even though we booked and paid for 4 people, when we arrived, only 2 bed were made. We had to make the 2 futons for the kids ourselves. Not sure if this was an oversight or how it's typically done at Mimaru, but after a long trip getting there the last thing we wanted to do was to pull out futons from the closet and put covers etc etc. Also the bathroom smells a bit, even though visually it is clean. Could be an old sewerage system or something. My kids held their breaths when using the toilet.

The staff were pleasant and willing to help. Room is good size for family of 4. Location is near the train station.

The pillows were too soft. The mattresses were not comfortable.

It was a great location for walking and not far from where we was going too!

The first shift staff was so amazing and helpful like they were awesome , but the person who was there at 12am was so not helpful and was very rude she made us get our own taxi like we knew what we were doing first shift staff helped us get the taxis so i didn’t understand why she couldn’t we literally had to go outside and flagged down our taxis , because we didn’t know how else to book them ! It would’ve been a rate of 10 but she ruined it. I hope whoever doesn’t understand their language doesn’t run into that rude front desk agent other than her the property and first shift staff all were extremely amazing .

Well placed, roughly five minutes from the main Ikebukuro station and within walking distance of Sunshine City. It’s on the Yamanote line too, so easy to get to major travel locations like Shibuya, Harajuku, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable, my group was three people and we had a good amount of space and were very comfortable. There’s cooking and entertainment facilities in the room, which was nice when we were tired and just wanted to relax in the evening. Of note — hotel rooms in Tokyo are notorious for being quite small and cramped, but the rooms at Mimaru are huge by comparison. The staff were friendly and helpful as well.

Very little — I think it’s worth noting they don’t have dining/breakfast options, but you have a whole kitchen area so this isn’t really an issue.

Our family of 6 stayed for 6 nights and it was great to all be together in one apartment after being split into 2 rooms in other towns. It was a short walk to the train station and shops and the staff were lovely. The washer/dryer room on level 2 was great and I had no problem getting access to a dryer when needed (the one in the actual room was not great). Fridge, cooktop & microwave available in the room along with a dining table.

The washer/dryer combo in the room was not great. 5 hours for a wash/dryer and the clothes were still wet so needed 20-40 minutes in the stringer dryer on level 2.

We rented a 2 bedroom apartment for three nights. The apartment was large with two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and washer dryer. The staff were very friendly and the place was spotless. We arrived at Ikebukuro station and found it difficult to get our bearings to find the hotel. It is a very large station. Once we found WEST EXIT (cntrl) exit 19, it was an easy 6 minute walk to the hotel. There are many restaurants and convenience stores near the hotel The local supermarket Akafudado was very handy for foods to cook as well as precooked meals.
