A wonderful couple of nights spent at this calm and peaceful located property. We were met by the owners (unfortunately did not get their names). We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and had wonderful home cooked Corsican food. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The swimming pool was clean and warm; we were provided towels free of charge. Our room was large and had plenty of storage; was clean and the balcony was a good size with great views. We have travelled a lot but this is one of the hotels that will stay with us, we loved it.

Lovely newly built hotel. Comfortable and stylish rooms. Nice quiet swimming pool. Very welcoming.

The exterior landscaping has not been completed and the entrance to the hotel is unfinished with a steep, unmade stony path where you need to be very careful with your car. We tried breakfast one morning. A more simple option would be useful for those with families not wanting a heavy breakfast.

Really enjoyed the stay at Casa Matteu. Stayed for two nights. De location is very new and that’s nice! A few small things that can be even better - but room for perfection is always good. Breakfast was good and staff was really nice! Enjoyed the pool!

Only thing we can think of is that we’ve really missed a small fridge in de room and some things that need to be finished (missing lamps with wires)

We loved our stay at Casa Matteu! The hosts were SO friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the property itself has a beautiful restaurant and pool. There was also lots of parking and the old town of Ajaccio is a short drive away. It was awesome!!

We stayed at Hotel Casa Matteu during our 2 week stay to Corsica. This was by far the worst stay of our trip. The accommodation is run like a guest house not a professional hotel as advertised. It is unfinished with the parking up a very dangerous steep dirt track. Breakfast is an additional €14.50 per person. There was very loud live music playing in the hotel bar during the evening of our stay. This was so loud we could not sleep, by 12.50am this was still playing. I made a complaint with the owner and he responded by telling me to “go back to bed you bastard” and that he would not stop the music until 2am. It was more like a nightclub than a hotel! I asked to leave the hotel but the owner would not refund our stay and completely dismissed our complaint. The owner was so aggressive we felt very threatened and unsafe. I would strongly advise against booking this accommodation and will be making a formal complaint to booking due to the harassment we experienced during our stay. Not what we expected at £90 per night plus breakfast.
