Le mas des cerisiers is an oasis surrounded by cherry trees. ‘Le mas des cerisiers’ is located on the beautiful ile de la Barthelasse, This is Europe’s largest river island nestled in the arms of the Rhone river- 700 hectares of calm, trees, fields and fruit trees, it is only 15 minutes drive from the historic centre of Avignon. The occasional mistral blows through the poplar trees, bringing a welcome cooling respite the summer heat of Avignon. Carine and Christian are warm and welcoming hosts. Offering simple plates of charcuterie and cheese on the vine covered terrace of their traditional farmhouse or within its environs. For tapas and cocktails we also enjoyed visiting ‘mas de Capalou’, just few minutes walk away. We had a lovely stay balancing relaxation, local culture and delicious food.

The grounds and swimming pool were amazing. But the rooms upstairs were in a 1630 house and there was a ghost! They should advertise this. This place was true French countryside luxury! Christian and his wife were so friendly and attentive to us .The location was perfect. 10-15 minutes from Avignon old town! This was by far the best place we stayed in on our month long trip to the south of France. We will come back here!

The location was very nice, in a secluded area, within orchards, about 10 min outside Avignon proper (20 min from TGV/car rental). It was a great location to serve as a base for our 4 days in Provence. About one hour drive to Aix, 40 min to Pont du Gard, etc Breakfast was very nice with delicious homemade yogurt, fruit and croissants/pain au choco/pain Aix raisins. Christian and Karine were very kind! Christian provided us with a book of activities

-Smell of cigarettes in the home -water from the faucet had a bad taste

Everything! Beautiful house with fantastic pool in a lovely rural location. Rooms were very comfortable and attractively decorated. Great breakfast and lunch. Super helpful hosts.

There was nothing we didn’t like but would have been convenient to have a walk in shower as well as a roll top bath,

Authentic, beautiful and very peaceful. lovely stone building with comfortable rooms, cool breakfast area and a lovely warm pool.

There is nothing not to like

a friendly family run hotel. if you are looking for a location near shops, clubs, restaurant and bars this is not the place for you however, if you are looking for good food, good conditions, quite and being accepted as part of the owners family then this is for you. great place and great hosts. I certainly will visit again.

Very nice, friendly and helpful couple. The owners where really nice, friendly and helpful. The location was very nice, relaxing, quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious with local fresh products.

Through no fault of theirs ( the owners) there was no Wi-Fi from the Wi-Fi provider.

a lot of mosquitos because nearby is river the owners don’t speak english so it’s a little bit difficult to communicate if you don’t speak french

We didn’t arrive until 8pm and checked out early the next morning, However, the gentleman who greeted us was very friendly. The gite we had was excellent for the one night and everything required for a comfy stay.
