Between the booking and our stay I read some other reviews and got slightly alarmed as they were, well, of mixed opinion. But we went and it was the most wonderful stay! Location of the hotel is perfect. Port/city centre with shops, restaurants a 10 min. walk away. Our room (garden view) was just lovely. Overall we liked the casual, beachy decor of the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was high quality and enjoying breakfast on the restaurant terrace with it's stunning sea view was a highlight each day. We also had dinner once at the restaurant and food was good and well executed. A bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. My daughter got a manicure at the hotel's spa and liked it. Also found it good value for money. Also worth mentioning is the lovingly decorated small pool area connected to the spa. Pool is shallow, so just for refreshing not swimming, but it was a welcomed contrast to the busy public beach, perfect for reading or just dozing off. There is a busy road between the hotel and the beach (busy also in the evening, high season), but we did not find it too annoying. Overall we loved Hotel de la Plage Mahogany and plan to return.

Overall loved it but some minor points: Communication about parking reservation was a bit difficult. But worked out well in the end. Parking is a bit pricey. You'll have to be a fan of pebble beaches... and the beach right in front of the hotel was extremely packed with people. Well, it was high season and of course not within the hotel's responsibility. We would have appreciated a little fridge in our room. :-) Otherwise, room was well equipped!

We had a fantastic stay at this beautifully designed hotel. The location couldn’t be better—right on the beach, with stunning views and easy access to the shoreline. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated, blending Mediterranean charm with a relaxed coastal vibe that feels both elegant and inviting. Our bathroom was large and well-appointed, with high-end fixtures and plenty of space. The towels were especially worth mentioning—fluffy, oversized, and luxurious, just what you’d want after a day at the beach. One of the highlights was the terrace overlooking the sea. It was the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a drink, and watch the sunset. Overall, the combination of style, comfort, and unbeatable location made for a memorable stay. We’d definitely return!

That said, there were a few things that could be improved. Staff were sometimes hard to find when we needed assistance, which made certain moments feel less attentive than expected. The terrace, while lovely, had a very limited menu and no food options available—not even light bar snacks—which was disappointing given how inviting the space was. We also found it a bit unreasonable to be charged €25 per day to park our car. Overall, the setting and style of the hotel really stood out, but a few service improvements would make the experience even better.

It has an amazing location, right by the sea. It’s only five minutes walk into the port where there is a huge choice of restaurants. Our family room, although it didn’t have a sea view, was comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well presented. The terrace is a lovely place to sit and watch time go by.

The hot water in the shower didn’t seem to get warm enough in the mornings. The public car park next door, whilst close and convenient, is costly if you’re staying more than a day. The hotel is expensive for what you get although I suppose you pay for the location.

Loved this hotel. Photos don't quite do it justice. It doesn't attempt super luxury but is cool, laid back and charming. The hotel is situated by Bestouan Beach, a very nice beach (albeit pebbly) and an 8 minute walk to the port. There is a front terrace where you can relax, read, have drinks etc.. We stayed in the family room without a view—the only option available at the time—but it exceeded our expectations. The room was incredibly spacious, and with the beach and terrace so close, we didn’t miss having a view. The bed was comfortable, the space clean, and the décor had a relaxed, beachy feel. Thoughtful amenities like tea and coffee facilities, a kettle, plenty of towel hooks, and a heated bathroom rail added to the comfort. Decent value.

I think there was a spa but the prices were steep and we were happy to sit on the beach without paying for a spa pool. Pack towels or be prepared to buy one / rent one.

Charming little hotel that felt very unique and homey! The location and view from the room were amazing! Just across the street from a public beach and within walking distance of downtown and the Calanques. The room was decorated beautifully. We loved having a terrace to sit out on. The ambience of the room was very beachy and relaxed - perfect! Staff were polite and courteous. Definitely a romantic setting for our honeymoon :)

Unfortunately, our room did have a slight smell.. kind of like sewage? We eventually figured it was mainly coming from the toilet. We had to keep the door to the toilet closed and the terrace doors open all day and night to keep the smell tolerable. But that was not a problem as the weather was very pleasant our entire stay. A few times our room keys randomly stopped working, but staff were always quick to fix it!

Great hotel! Great location! Great breakfast! Rooms and hotel as well as the beautiful terrace overlooking a small bay and the wonderful sea are very tastefully decorated in Mediterranean style. Location of the hotel is an ideal starting point for the hikes in the Calanques! The entire hotel staff, especially the manager are extremely accommodating and helpful. Our car was under repair and we were well supported in communication. Thank you very much! We felt very comfortable and will be back.

Absolutely beautiful views!! The room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor with a balcony and was stunning. The room was clean, functional, and decorated in a stylish beach vibe. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We walked about 20 minutes to see one of the Calanques..beautiful area! Also a short walking to the charming port with cafes, shops and lots of charm. We only stayed one night while traveling through Spain/France, but we didn’t want to leave that beautiful balcony view.

What an amazing location!!! It wasn't cheap, but the views were priceless. To wake up to that vista made the holiday a success from the minute we got out of bed.My daughter and I had a fantastic time, we felt so safe in Hotel Mahogany, and in Cassis in general. There is a beautiful little cove directly in front of the hotel, and though it is busy, it felt so safe, and the water was extremely clean. The pretty little town of Cassis is 5 minutes from the hotel. Everything you need was accessible by foot, though I recommend a car to explore the stunning local landscape.

The set up of the hotel and facilities, breakfast, beach facilities, the Spa etc..., was a little vague and probably could have been explained better by staff. But there was a very relaxed vibe overall, so front of house displayed that same languidity. But some of the facilities we didn't discover until the last day, purely by chance, and that was a shame as knowing about the beach beds across the road, for example, would have added so much more to our overall experience.

The view is incredible!! I adore the lights softly illuminate with motion detection. The breakfast buffet is a must-do!! I can't wait to leave a Google review.

Had to use some MacGyver antics to get the shower door to stay shut, but the showers had multiple heads, rainfall, and hand-held attachments. Love the extra counter spaces created in the bathroom. Bedroom is crowded but not an issue as you can curl up on the outdoor bed and listen to the locusts and ocean in the evening and sunrise.

We loved the view from our room and the bar breakfast area was very relaxing. The staff were so friendly and quirky and did everything for us - even an ice pack for a sore knee after the hike to En Vau. Location to the beach superb - especially for a pre breakfast dip before the day hotted up.

Our room was small - will very little space to unpack and to put away suitcases. We didn't really see the pool or spa, so wasn't really part of the value.
