The hotel and restaurant are full of character and charm. Lovely location on the square. The owner was so generous and accommodating and gave some good tips on the area. The rooms are a good size, have everything you need, French style so not modern but stylish and very comfortable. The meal the owner made for us during our stay was excellent quality, taste and presentation and good value. We had 3 courses, a cocktail to start and a carafe of wine all for €150 for 6 of us!!! Highly recommend and hope to return.

For what we paid, there is nothing to complain about. We were very pleased and satisfied with everything.

The location, Castillonnes, was beautiful and we loved the decor and spacious rooms, pub and restaurant. Easy location to find and parking perfect for the classic cars. Alex is a perfect host and top notch chef. We were thoroughly spoiled with his excellent cooking. We had a bonus treat of joining in with a classic car meet in nearby Villereal. At Alex’s suggestion we visited other interesting nearby places. Highly recommended!

The host Alexandre was delightful and generous, offering to cook for us (along with cooking for his family) on an evening when his restaurant was closed. It was beautifully cooked and presented. A brilliantly well-situated chambre d'hotes for the edge of the Dordogne and for Bergerac not far off. Spacious rooms decorated in traditional style with contemporary touches.

Alex is a great host, friendly, helpful & attentive. A fantastic time to visit, as on Sunday's during July & August the square comes alive with local foods, wine, beer & fabulous live music, we had a wonderful time. Our stay was very comfortable & breakfast was included in the price, excellent value. Its a lovely little boutique/quirky hotel. We had the Japanese room, lots of thought had been put into it. The cocktail list is amazing & created by Alex, with a rock n roll theme.Thank you Alex, his wife & daughters for having us we'll be back, and make sure we're with you on a Sunday.

Nothing it was perfect for us travelling through.

It id a charming old inn located on the main square of the village. The rooms are mostly en-suite, there is a terrace available for communal use. The owner is a cordon bleu trained chef and he serves a 3-course dinner at the bar/restaurant downstairs (request ahead! Delicious seasonal dishes). Delicious continental breakfast included in the price. The owner is very attentive and hospitable. We loved the experience and hope to come back one day.

There is no A/C yet, so one has to understand to open the windows at night and close them during the day.

Most comfortable and largest bed ever. Marvellous big bedroom with great ensuite offering both shower and bath and balcony. Grand variety of drinks in the bar (especially the beer!). Super hearty breakfast. Large communal comfy sitting room with additional open verandah. Overall the whole ambiance and friendliness of Alex the host makes for a great stay.

Great location and a lovely hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for Alex and booking to eat an evening meal in his restaurant is a must. A very talented chef and passionate about the food he serves. One of the best meal we eat in France on this trip. His cocktails are fabulous too. Breakfast was also great. We will be back if ever in the area again.

Perfect location to visit family who were holidaying in the area. Very quaint French small town hotel. Small but perfectly formed! Although we didn't eat in the restaurant the reviews looked good.

Pretty dark on the staircases. Took a while for the lights to respond each time. Could provide fresh milk or UHT milk portions as well as the teabags and coffee.

The room was lovely with period features, comfortable bed, situated right next to the square. Breakfast was typically french with plenty of coffee. The highlight for us was the evening meal though. You need to book the day before but it's worth it, Alex is an excellent cook, 3 courses for e29. He buys fresh seasonal food on the day and prepares it all himself.

We really enjoyed our stay, the room was very comfortable (we had a free upgrade), the breakfasts were great and we really enjoyed the dinners Alex cooked both evenings for us. We also appreciated Alex keeping the bar open later so we could sit and watch a Euro match! Thoroughly recommended.
