We booked this hotel on a whim and are so glad we did. We have travelled to a few different hotels in the Dordogne and ended in Bordeaux. This hotel is the best we stayed in by a long shot. From first arriving and having a secure car park to park our rental car, to the friendly reception staff, everhthing was smooth and easy. The room was clean and had lots of space - our room actually had a smaller bedroom with bunk beds which we were able to use for our large suitcases. The breakfast sets you up nicely for the day. The pool has to be the best thing about this hotel. It is clean, extremely well maintained and looked after. A lot of other hotel guests clearly went on tours or to wander round Bergerac so we essentially had our own private pool at times which was excellent. The garden is also very well maintained so makes the area look even prettier.

We took advantage of cheap Ryanair flights from Edinburgh to Bergerac. This hotel was ideal for our three night stay. Easy access to town centre and railway station yet in a quiet location. Extremely friendly welcome, nice bedroom with separate toilet and shower room. Comfortable bed and breakfast was very good value for €10 per person. Purified chilled water freely available. Staff most helpful all the time. No hesitation in recommending this hotel but beware that transportation from airport to town is challenging. You are arriving at a very rural airport. Taxis are rare and must be booked. Don’t expect buses to solve this problem

The hotel is situated 5 minutes walk from the train station so day trips to Bordeaux and Sarlat were easy. There is a bakery and large supermarket in the next street for ease as well as a pharmacy. The hotel is located in a quiet area just 5 minutes walk from the old town. It is kept immaculately clean, the rooms are compact but perfectly functional. The window shutters help with a fantastic nights sleep and there’s plenty of storage. The pool area was beautiful and restaurant modern and bright. Staff work incredibly hard to keep this hotel in top condition.

The manager was very welcoming (and fit: he carried my very heavy case upstairs - note: no lift) with great speed! AND he spoke English! The room was clean and mainly comfortable. I'd just mention 2 niggles: the pillows were very saggy and there wasn't much space to put toiletries in the shower room. The actual shower was excellent- once I'd worked out how to use it. N.B. there is no shower cap so if you want to use the overhead 'rain shower' take your own. The other smaller shower packs a punch though. The loo was separate, which is also a plus. The breakfast was good: bread, pastries, cereals, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, coffee and fruit juice. Parking is secure and on ground level. It costs 5€ per day. (Oct '24) The hotel is situated 5 minutes walk from the town centre. It is an interesting old town with splendid buildings and lots of cafés and restaurants to suit all budgets.

The rooms had recently been refurbished and there were old photos on Booking.com. The beds were super comfy and we hadn't expected a kettle in our room so that was a very pleasant surprise- the hotel is 10mins walk to the centre of the old town and 5mins from the railway station so its easy to access Bordeaux, Sarlat etc for exploring further afield. Water dispenser on the bar allowed you to have fresh drinking water and you were able to fill gin sized bottles to take water to your room- ecologically sound as well as convenient

The hostess was amazing. Nothing was too much of a problem. Very helpful and friendly. We loved the pool and the rooms were fresh and clean.

Great location , near station and town. Hotel staff very helpful and hard working. Room was average size and very clean. Pool was great in the couple of days hot weather we had.

Hotel was great. We didn't have a car so getting from the airport was a challenge as we had to phone for a taxi as none at the airport - one of the car hire staff phoned and sorted it for us (€20 + tip) But just warning Bergerac is a small airport and doesn't seem as well connected by public transport as most we have been to.

I really liked this unassuming little hotel. The pool and lawn around it were lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are a really decent size with 'comfort' rooms facing the back where it is quieter. It's only 5 minutes walk into town and also to the supermarket, about 10 from the train station - all easy.

Although there is a kettle and coffee/tea-making facility in the 'comfort' rooms, there was none in the standard room.

Good little hotel in central location within easy walking distance to the main center of town. Rooms nice, comfortable, clean. There is a lovely pool area at the back of the property but as we were there in cold weather we did not use it. Onsite parking available at a small extra cost (5 Euros)

Entrance to the car park is very tight. We had a small 4x4 and it was a tight fit. Would not advise for larger cars. There are car parks nearby.

The Brit hotel is a budget hotel that punches above its weight. The building is a bit dated, but the rooms have been updated and are very comfortable and well equipped. The staff were lovely and really helpful. There is secure off street parking. The hotel is well located with a ten minute walk to the centre. The breakfast has a good selection.

Nothing negative to say for a budget hotel of its type. Good value for money.
