We stayed in the two bedroomed Tapestry Gite for 5 nights and our stay was absolutely delightful - The gite had everything we needed for a truly relaxing break. The living space was very comfortable and the kitchen very well appointed for our self catered breakfasts and evenings when we stayed in to enjoy the Chateau's wine. The coffee machine was fantastic and we enjoyed a fresh cup with our morning croissants and Canneles Bordelais from Pâtisserie Druart. We all enjoyed our tour of the vineyard and learning about the wine production; and having tasted it, a couple of bottles also managed to come home with us! We enjoyed meals out in Sainte Foy La Grande and the local area, and Chris was very helpful with restaurant recommendations & making bookings for us. We also enjoyed trips to beautiful Périgueux & Saint-Émilion. Thank you to Chris and Irma, who were both very thoughtful hosts - the slippers were a delightful touch and much appreciated.

Nothing! We can thoroughly recommend a stay at Chateau Masburel, and very much hope to be back!

Spending time at Chateau Masburel was spending the most luxurious holiday of a lifetime! The ambience of the chateau was rich with beautifully comfortable antique furnishings, large, bright windows, sparkling chandeliers, and golden-glowing candles! The breakfasts contained a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and a charcuterie of delights: meats, cheeses, including French bread, rolls, and croissants! The coffee was superb each morning from a fabulous Gaggia coffee maker! The surrounding area outside the chateau was so beautifully landscaped with acres of vineyards beyond. The nights were perfectly quiet for sleeping, and mornings with birds singing in the distance. The bedrooms were perfectly gorgeous and bathrooms so modern, clean, and accommodating! Come visit this fairyland for your future retreat or vacation!

Beautiful en suite room with a large bed. The living space was very comfortable and well decorated. We loved our tour of the vineyard and learning more about the on site wine production. The wine was very nice as well. The surrounding area is quaint with great historical value, we enjoyed our time in Sainte Foy La Grande which is just a stones throw away. And all the facilities at the chateau were kept very clean. Chris and Irma were accommodating and thoughtful hosts.

Beautiful place. Well cared for. Lovely and peaceful. Great chance to chill. Chris the owner showed us around the winery which was very interesting

If there was anything wrong it was only that you couldn’t walk to a restaurant (well with a dodgy foot we couldn’t 😊) but the kitchen facilities and local shops more than made up for this and probably saved us a fortune.

The setting of the chateau and the views were amazing as was the upkeep of the property and the decor it was a French chateau but was furnished and equipped beautifully and very tastefully

The attention to detail was exceptional and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The vineyard and the winery were very interesting and it showed us a fantastic insight into how the wine is gown produced and bottled and marketed.

We had booked a room on the Chateau but got upgraded to the Tapestry gite which was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was amazing. Chris and Irma were generous and helpful hosts. We enjoyed the tour of the winery and loved our stay. We highly recommend a stay at Chsteau Masburel. It was a great base to explore Périgueux, Bergerac, Sarlat and Saint Emilion.

The Château Masburel was exceptional in every way, beautiful ambience with spectacular Vineyard and French countryside views. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean, superbly decorated, comfy bed with opulent, accessible rooms to relax in if needed. The breakfast had a range of choice with quality, fresh produce. The ‘piece de resistance’ was being able to take our trays outside to eat in the peaceful garden with no rush. Perfect! Chris and Irma were the consummate hosts, welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable about the area without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Chris and Irma for the most enjoyable, relaxing stay. It was simply, the best ever.

Absolutely nothing!

We had the pleasure of staying at this charming Chateau in France, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The decor is absolutely exquisite, with a beautifully refined and tasteful style. The antique furniture throughout is genuinely authentic, giving the entire place a unique and historical atmosphere. Irma and Chris, the owners, were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home.

A lovely chateau in the heart of the Dordogne wine region. Surrounded by Chris's own vineyard; he gave us a tour and wine tasting. Friendly and engaging couple who run it. Only a few rooms despite the size of the place so quite intimate. Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Good help-yourself breakfast from a small kitchen enjoyed outside at a communal table with other guests. Parking on site. Lovely place to relax in the sunshine. Small but good choice of restaurants in nearby St. Foy (10 minutes). Nice wines; bought some to take home.

This is perhaps the best hotel that we have stayed in in France. The welcome was superb and our hosts arranged a restaurant booking for us as it was a Sunday and many places were closed. The rooms and the furnishings are superb. Breakfast was plentiful with great choices. The wine tour was lovely and the wine’s excellent. A beautiful tranquil setting. A fantastic experience.
