Great location for access to Gavarnie. Excellent food in the restaurant. Fantastic views. Good breakfast. Easy parking. Peaceful. Nice small village with a bar and a shop.

Our room was cramped for 2 with luggage. More hooks and shelves would help. Hôtel restaurant is great but the outdoor terrace is right on a road that gets a lot of traffic heading up to Gavarnie. Limited outside space for sitting apart from the restaurant terrace.

The room and bathroom were very modern and the beds were really comfortable. It was very quiet, there was plenty of parking spaces for the car, and the hotel is close to the main spots of interest in the area. The place also features a nice restaurant with good food and service.

Situated on the side of the road, easy to find and not noisy but we were at the back. small juliet balconies, room comfortable if rather warm. Bathroom small but very modern and clean. Restaurant food was very good at dinner.

A/C not very effective so room was hot. Breakfast was a bit hands-off - orange juice ran out, no butter, no hot choices at all. Juice and butter were rectified but that took time and made it a bit of a process rather than relaxing. Hotel is expensive for what it is.

We had booked a room for one night but in the morning decided to stay another night which, fortunately, was available. This was an excellent base to hike and explore the cirques and the perfect place for us to spend our last two nights of a three week visit to France before flying home to the US. The hotel is very comfortable, the owners and staff are welcoming and helpful and the countryside spectacular.

The hotel is spacious and beautifully decorated. The bedroom was also spacious and well equipped. Most of all, the owners and staff were very kind and professional. The food was exquisite, creative, and made good use of local products.

Everything was perfect in my point of view.

Excellent food - breakfast was substantial with some interesting additions to the standard buffet. Lucky to be there for Thursday night dinner when the chef used the big fireplace in the dining room as a grill. Staff were pleasant and efficient.

Room was very small - bed was comfortable but it felt a bit crowded with two people and their belongings.

The staff of the hotel was really friendly! The breakfast and dinner we had at the hotel was very very nice! The morning of our departure we had to leave early and we could get a coffee and baguette etc. before the actual breakfast opened, fantastic!

Atmosphere, food, rooms and most importantly the people

That my Booking.com credits could not be applied. This should have been very clear at the outset by Booking.com. I had to dig through the site to find that out. In future, it should be clear that an accommodation does not accept the credits.

We very much enjoyed our stay at La Breche de Roland. Philippe and Odile are perfect hosts. Our room was very quiet and the bed very comfortable. Plenty of parking onsite. The breakfast buffet is very generous with lots of variety. Dinner is served every night with lots of choices on the menu and the food is delicious. Philippe prepares a special dinner on Thursday nights cooking lamb chops grilled in the fireplace - great fun ! The staff are very friendly. The location of the hotel is very convenient for all our hiking adventures. We highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel.

The dinner was amazing! Don’t miss it and it is in a wonderful location and the village is beautiful. The hotel is really comfortable and well-managed. The staff is wonderful and multilingual. Our room was excellent!

It would have been nice to have a kettle.
