We would rate the Hotel Loysel le Gaucher as very good. We found it comfortable and well appointed. The building is elegant and in a quiet location yet within a few minutes walk of the town centre. and city ramparts. There is free, adjacent on-street parking. The staff were charming and helpful. We have visited Montreuil many times over the years and this is the first time we have stayed at Hotel Loysel le Gaucher - will certainly stay there again and are very happy to recommend it to other travellers.

There is no lift which might be a challenge for some, especially if on the second floor.

The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained and the courtyard is lovely - we didn't get much of a chance but it would be nice to sit outside in the sun with a drink. The chap on the front desk was charming and very helpful, as was the night Porter. We enjoyed the sauna in the room, but note it does take a good hour to heat up properly! And needed to be switched on by the manager when we arrived, so do ask.

The separate, minimum €12 charge for a rather basic breakfast is taking the p a bit, especially at the room rates. We therefore only ate breakfast at the hotel once & went out to the local boulangeries/ restaurants the other mornings. Bottles of water (and perhaps a fridge) in the rooms would have been very welcome, though the tap water is fine.

Lovely room, great location. Easy to find parking nearby. Quiet.

Breakfast first morning was very good, plenty of coffee, juice and fresh bread/pastries. Second morning coffee had run out, juices were not replenished and the bread and pastries tasted as if they were from the previous day. 16€ each!

Hotel was beautiful and room was spacious and comfortable. Staff delightful and helpful.

Our fan didn't work properly and we were told it would be looked at but it didn't happen. It was very hot that weekend. We only had enough tea/coffee provided for one person. These issues were not deal breakers though as they were very minor. We had a lovely stay.

Lovely 3-star hotel in a super location in this pretty French town. Fabulous building, recently renovated in a modern classic style - crisp bedding - spotless bathroom - stylish deco, not stuffy & old fashioned. No parking in the hotel grounds, but free parking close-by. Located very near the citadel, but also within a short pleasant walk to the squares, restaurants, shops, bars.

There is nothing we were unhappy with!

Loved the beautiful old building and interiors. It was very quiet yet very close to the centre of town. Staff friendly and very helpful. Lovely relaxing outdoor courtyard to sit and chill with a book.

Breakfast not great for 13 euros. Shower floor very slippery No hotel parking and nearby parking busy

As it was unusually cold weather when we stayed we found the toilet with no heating a bit uncomfortable to use. It was not a problem but just a comment on interior design - we thought the unmatched curtains didn't look very good and perhaps they should be shorter so they don't have to be pushed behind or infront of the radiator.

Perfect location and just a small walk into town’s bars and restaurants

Not a lot really albeit there was no private parking there were plenty of free on street parking close by. If I was going to be critical it would have been nice to see some cheese or cold meat at breakfast!

Room exceeded expectations and really liked the in room facilities. Staff were friendly ( although we only ever met one !! ) but he was attentive / informative and helpful. Hotel is central to town and everything is walkable . The style and cleanliness of the Hotel is fantastic .. Very Chic !!

There are very limited eating ( apart from breakfast ) facilities at the hotel and even getting a beer proved difficult . But knowing those are restricting factors , you make decisions to find those locally and there are an abundance of bars / restaurant's in the town to meet everyone's pocket .

We only had the breakfast once as it was very much bread and croissants etc (Viennoiserie)

Refills of the tea and coffee sachets would have been good as there was a kettle in our room A box of tissues would also be useful.
