A beautiful old mansion - well maintained - with large gardens and a pool, in the centre of Montignac. All the public rooms were charming, as was our bedroom. The hotel was quiet, the beds comfortable and the rooms well heated - we were there in Autumn. There was free public parking outside, and also on the river out back. Our hosts and the staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent with many food options. It was wonderful wandering around the town and exploring and we went to the Lascaux caves.

It was a little hard to find as the hotel is in a square hidden from the road. It may be hard to get parking in peak season.

This is a beautiful French hotel in a great location in Montignac. I booked one of the smaller rooms and for one person it was perfect. It was super comfortable, very clean and I was extremely grateful for the air conditioning. I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were very good. Great selections at breakfast and dinner on the terrace was amazing. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and when you are traveling alone these things make a big difference. The gardens and pool are also beautiful and a great place to relax on a hot afternoon. Thank you so much Katia and Thierry!

Having to leave!

This is a beautiful, very French hotel. We have stayed here before and hope to return again. The rooms are beautifully decorated. We didn't have breakfast as we felt €16 pp was a lot for a croissant and coffee etc. The view from our room over the garden and river was lovely. The pool is fabulous!

Stepping into the bath was awkward. They could do with a grab bar. There was one socket next to the bed but my double adaptor was too big to fit it! The pillows were OK, not the most comfortable. No tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel was very charming, especially the gardens and pool area. Location is excellent. All of the Management and staff were lovely, and provided friendly, helpful and relaxed service. The food was delicious, but as we were staying for a week, we would have liked more variety in the menu.

The room was a bit cramped, access to the wardrobe was difficult. The seats in the bedroom were unsuitable to sit in for too long.

Great location for Lascoux (walkable). Good breakfast range including scrambled eggs/bacon. Excellent restaurant, we had one meal at the hotel and other nights elsewhere in the town but the hotel was the best meal we had.

Parking can be a bit busy at certain times of the day and we had to park a couple of streets away when we arrived, but turn over is quite regular so a close space will pop up regularly.

This hotel is just as you imagine a small independent French Hotel to be. It is beautiful and quaint and situated close to the river. The pool is excellent and the gardens are lovely. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The air con is an absolute bonus! The rooms (well, Jaquie, the one we have had the 2 times we have stayed) is typically French. Lots of knick knacks around. The en suite is big enough and there's a good shower over the bath. Breakfast is continental style. There are plenty of cafes, bars and ice cream parlours within easy walking distance of the hotel and ample parking.

Although there is a lift which we use to take our luggage up the first time, the beautiful staircase is long! There are 21 steps to each floor. We were on the second floor.

The perfect oasis and a classic French three star - the standards are so much higher than other countries at this level, and you receive the charm of an historic building, a dedicated small team and absolutely the opposite of the modern corporate hotel experience.

The charm was somewhat undermined by the automatic coffee machine and juice machine at breakfast. I think a buffet is fine, but coffee and juice service from a person rather than self-service from a machine would have been more in keeping with the ambiance and standards of this property elsewhere.

This is a hotel that feels traditionally French, but with a twist that is uniquely charming and full of personality. It's in a beautiful old building on the bank of the Vezere, with large landscaped gardens and an outdoor pool. We had a comfortable, spacious corner room with lots of sunlight and river views. We ate in the hotel restaurant every night, and the food was lovely - as were the breakfasts. Great staff, great atmosphere - we will definitely return.

Wonderful old building and lovely garden in a really picturesque little square in the old town. Utterly charming. The hotel has a nice library available for guests if you need somethign to read, and reading rooms. Restaurant is really good for the evening. If you have special diet requirements call ahead, the owners are as accomodating as they can be.

The temperature control in the shower suffered a bit on the top floor if other guests used hot water at the same time.

We love everything about this hotel, amazing staff, best food in France and a quaint, quiet and beautiful setting. Stayed here a few years ago and we’re thrilled to see the same owners, same chef and still the best food we’ve eaten in France!
