We stayed at Manoir du Bellay for one evening on our way down to the South of France. The manor house and its gardens are incredibly beautiful and well looked after. The town was equally charming and the location of the accommodation is great for exploring on foot. The room was incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable. Our host was attentive and even woke up extra early to offer us a lovely homemade breakfast as we had to get back on the road, which was very kind. We felt very at home even though our stay was short. Thank you!

During our stay the weather was very hot, and the room may have benefitted from the addition of a fan due to the lack of air conditioning.

Beautiful and spacious ground floor room with ensuite - tastefully redecorated. Friendly family managed operation and friendly family dog Ocata. Private parking inside main entrance gate, garden at the rear with allocated area for guests to use. Walking distance to town centre, well worth visiting the castle and enjoyable lunch at the Gourmandaise in its terrace garden. Great location and short drives to other places - Chinon, Angers, Saumur, Azay Le Rideaux, Brissac.

We had a four night stay and it would have been good to be asked if we needed anything replaced or extra in the room (eg. tea bags/toilet paper) The weather was very hot during our stay so would benefit with a lighter duvet, alternatively a sheet between would have been quite useful (we removed the duvet from the cover on 2nd night) Some restaurants in town open on certain days/evenings only, so do check!

Great location, within easy walking distance of the Chateau and restaurants. Very quiet. Peaceful garden with a very friendly dog. Spacious, clean and very comfortable room renovated to a very high standard. As we were using the train, we were able to leave our bags with the proprietor during the day of our departure date which was very beneficial.

There was nothing negative about our stay.

Our recent stay was so relaxing and peaceful! The mansion is a beautiful example of the region’s architecture, the family apartment is really cozy. The wonderful garden was our favorite part, and we had a great time there. The breakfast was also delicious. Philippe and his wife were very attentive and caring with our family, they made us feel like at home.

Philippe and his beautiful family took a good care of us on our two nights stay in their stunning Manoir. The rooms are beautifully decorated with modernized bathrooms, we had picnics in the beautiful garden and played ping pong while the white furry friend was by our side. We highly recommend this charming estate and the friendly atmosphere that this welcoming family has created.

Really lovely stay in a beautiful old Manor House. Owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast with home made yogurt and home pressed apple juice. Beautiful garden which we were invited to use. Bellay is a beautiful old town.

Nothing. Whole stay was delightful

Spacious, quiet and comfortable room and bed (one of the best I've slept in) which was decorated really tastefully, and had a kettle! Lovely garden. The friendly owner gave us lots of information about the village and places to go. It's an ongoing project of the family's to restore this old manor house, and we were happy to be able to stay in such a historic place.

Beautiful character Manor House set in rustic grounds. Very friendly welcome from charming hosts who speak good English. Only 3 bedrooms so a good personal service. Situation centrally in the walled town close to the Chateau.

Nothing to dislike

We were most pleased by the warm welcome and the tour of the property/ house. The family has invested smartly to bring the manor back to life and return it to a level of stateliness. The gated parking was an extra bonus as we were traveling with a packed car.

The bath and bedroom suite could benefit from a box of tissues. Otherwise it was a perfect stay.

Beautiful old building sensitively renovated, lovely host and good quiet location. Breakfast was good and in a lovely room and convivial atmosphere. Large garden accessible for picnic lunch with Philippe the host generously giving us wine.

Everything perfect.
