Jean-Francois and Laurent were excellent and charming hosts, welcoming, friendly, attentive (but not too attentive - there when you needed them) and very helpful. We were very sad to say goodbye and we wish them all the best for the future. The detail: the room was clean (of course), well equipped, the bed was comfortable, the shower excellent. Breakfast was yoghurt with fresh fruit (changed every day), bread and criossants (delicious), fresh orange juice, coffee; which you could supplement with eggs, ham, cheeses etc. at minimal cost; eaten outside (if you wished) in a delightful garden and it was the perfect set-up for the day. For chambre d'hote you could not ask for more. But there was more: a choice of simple dishes in the evening if ordered by 1900hrs, the honesty bar with wines, beers, soft drinks at very reasonable prices or a choice of excellent bottles at a very modest mark-up, the offer of transport to St.Emillion (walk or taxi back) or Libourne rail station for less tha a taxi costs, the immaculate swimming pool, the bike hire, the offer to book restaurants. You could not ask for more and the location is good for St.Emillion (don't walk back along the D243), use the chemin through the vineyards. The stay was memorable: a laugh and smile with our hosts from start to finish.
I didn't like the guests that forgot it is a chambre d'hote (a room in your host's house) and mistook it for a hotel, turning up outside booking in hours (which is rude and disrupted the host's time to get jobs done - I saw this for myself) and then complain about too many rules.

This accommodation was a delight to stay in. Friendly and helpful owners and very accommodating (one guest day dietary requirements). The room was very comfortable. Air conditioning was a blessing as we were there on a rather hot day. We used the pool and towels were supplied, lovely setting. The bathroom was stylish and even had tissues (so many places don't have them any more). There was a shared fridge/freezer which we used as we were on a long road trip and had items that needed the use of it. The breakfast was authentic French and the setting, outside under the trees made it even more special. Highly recommend La Gomerie Chambres d'hotel.

The bedroom was cozy and the bed very comfortable. Bed linen very nice. The breakfast was delightful. set out lovely. traditional French breakfast. Great decafe coffee too. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. The town centre is a good 20 minute walk away and it is not safe to walk along the road side however the hosts provided us with a map that took us through the vineyards. A beautiful walk on a nice day
The only negative was that we wish we had known the walk through the vineyards on the first day as we walked along the main road and it was quite dangerous with cars.

This is a beautifully and sensitively restored 18th century house, surrounded by vineyards. Laurent and Jean-François have created five charming, well equipped and comfortable guest rooms. There is an outdoor pool, a friendly Beagle, and an excellent outdoor breakfast shaded by trees. The house is close to St Emilion, either by car/ taxi, or a walk through the vines. We ate dinner at La Table 38 in the centre of town. It was recommended by our hosts, and we enjoyed great food, friendly staff and a delightful atmophere.
Nothing, it was perfect...

The chateaux was beautifully renovated and facilities were excellent - as the property is located 30 mins walk from town, the hosts provide wine and snacks (very reasonably priced) for purchase to enjoy in the lounge, dining or garden which was superb for us after a long day out exploring. Couldn’t fault the hosts, they are both so helpful, friendly and genuinely invested in making your stay memorable.

Before coming to the hotel, we received a letter with the restaurants where to go. When we arrived, owner met us, helped with everything, showed our rooms and explained all necessary things. Rooms are very clean, they had a very beautiful view to look at. The breakfast was also very tasty. We are very satisfied with our stay, the owner was very sweet, asked if we need something and made sure we feel comfortable. I recommend this place for people who like quite and atmosphere places, and also for families as well.

Exceptionally warm welcome received from our hosts upon our arrival, at this beautifully decorated property. Our room was fantastic, and it was apparent that our hosts had a keen eye for detail with high quality linens, and top quality fixtures and fittings. We were also provided with quality advice, recommendations and guidance on how to get the best of our time in St Emilion. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat. As we departed the property, both my wife and I simultaneously commented that it felt that we had stayed overnight with friends, rather than a boutique hotel, such was the professionalism of our hosts and the relaxed atmosphere they created. We experienced genuine care, friendship and outstanding service throughout our brief stay.
Loved it all.

From the warm hospitality to the beautiful scenery surrounded by vineyards, everything was wonderful. The outdoor garden breakfast with fresh French croissants was a lovely touch. I especially enjoyed the wine selection in the lobby and the charming vintage furniture throughout the property. I would definitely love to visit again.
While it was a bit challenging to carry luggage without an elevator, this is just a minor detail compared to all the delightful experiences the place offers.

We loved our stay with Jean-Francois and Laurent. Their place is absolutely beautiful and they themselves were so welcoming and helpful, even drawing us a map to walk through the vineyards to Saint Emilion and the best route to walk around the town to see everything. The pool is lovely and the French breakfast they provide is delicious and the perfect start to the day in this gorgeous part of France They also gave us some great restaurant recommendations before we arrived and advised us to make reservations to ensure we had somewhere to eat each night which was fantastic as if we hadn't we would have really struggled to get in anywhere! The walk through the vineyards is beautiful and coming back in the dark is definitely an experience! But it is do-able, just make sure you wear sensible shoes and have a torch handy! Although coming from a big city, the opportunity to not be surrounded by light pollution was actually really lovely We were really sad to leave and wish we had booked an extra night! Thankyou so much, we will definitely be back!

The hosts were so lovely and friendly, and breakfast was outstanding, served in the outdoor area by the pool, or inside if raining. There are lots of gorgeous little outdoor spaces around the property to enjoy a glass of wine in, in the sun, and the pool was great. We hired bikes to get around - it's a fair walk into town if you don't have a car, but you can hire bikes (electric or non-electric) from the property, at a daily cost.
There was a bit of noise from other rooms and the main foyer room, and the room was small but well-appointed, so these are only minor complaints. Beware that taxis home from the town are very expensive at night, despite the short journey!
