We stayed at this hotel while traveling from Biarritz to Paris and were impressed by the recent renovations and beautiful design. We particularly enjoyed the park and spa area, and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The wine cellar was a highlight as well, featuring a knowledgeable sommelier who enhanced our experience.

However, we did encounter a significant issue. The hotel is quite remote, so be prepared to drive to find dining options if you’re unable to secure a table at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, this happened to us. Despite booking our room just one day prior, we received a message only five hours before our arrival indicating that the restaurant was fully booked and that we should consider dining elsewhere. This was quite disappointing. In my experience, I believe that a five-star hotel should prioritize accommodating all guests' dining needs, and it felt as though the management fell short in this regard.

One very rude breakfast attendant who all but scolded me for asking if I could take some fruit from the buffet before he cleared it, very noisy banging & crashing while cleaning up breakfast buffet around us, making a disappointing end to what was otherwise an excellent visit. A few people missed being able to get items from the buffet despite attending only a few moments after its closing time. A simple 5 min advice to breakfast guests that the buffet was about to close would be a great improvement to the experience.

Most staff were absolutely wonderful and helpful however a couple of staff in the breakfast area were quite rude and unhelpful when asking for example a slightly firmer poached egg- which they refused to do- that maybe Chef's rules we do not know. The system for slecting which evenings a customer is able to dine on the terrace was also vague and unecessarily complicated. It should be the customers choice whether to eat outside or not no matter what the weather or chef's decision. Similary ordering drinks through the app at poolside was not easy, frequently didn't deliver what was ordered and the list does not contain all drinks - for example Martini with lemonade, this was available at the bar so why not include on a digital list?

Everything. Amazing staff, beautiful food. If you don’t want fine dining every night you can eat in the wine bar. Lovely breakfast with hot food to order. Spa and pool are great. We had massages with Jane and Janice who were both fantastic. Pool service very good. Great housekeeping service, rooms well looked after. Hire bikes are great and we took the back road to St. Emillion. Well done how the chateau marries with the new architecture. Balcony in bedroom looking out on the vineyard is breathtaking. Decor of the bedroom and the Chauteau beautiful, no expense has been spared. Overall a fantastic stay and break away from life. All staff have a smile and “Bonjour” when they meet you. 🙏

The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the interiors of this hotel are absolutely spectacular. They have beautiful bikes you can ride around the Vineyard, the restaurant had FABULOUS wines and sauternes that blew me away. The accommodations are gorgeous, even for the standard room. The spa was so relaxing, and easily accessible. The gardens were breathtaking. Absolutely stunning start to finish.

Loved it one hundred percent, the only thing to keep in mind as a visitor, is that it may be tough to get any kind of uber. Taxi might be easier, but the town and area are pretty classic, so If you want to go around to a bunch of other vineyards in one day, consider renting a car. They have ample parking that does not cost extra.

Incredible chateau stay just a stone’s throw away from Saint Emilion town. A historic building with modern facilities and excellent hospitality. The spa and pool were perfect for relaxation, whilst the dining options were terrifically indulgent, with a tremendous choice across the restaurant and bars. The rooms were spacious and peaceful, with glorious views of the surrounding vineyards. The staff were really helpful and professional. The food and drink were unbelievable, but the restaurant was the star; one of the finest dinner services I have ever experienced - the team were incredible.

The chateau is new so it does not squeak, everything works and has a nice modern indoor design The Spa facilities with outdoor pool at 26 degrees (78 degrees F), the jacuzzi, modern sauna and hamman and a nice relaxing terrace overlooking the vineyards

The restaurant service while being very present and attentive, was chaotic. Especially with the choice of wines and not giving enough time for a Grand Cru wine to air out before it is served with the food. Also had two misunderstandings with the wine choice but it was sorted out in the end by the nice sommelier who knows her stuff.

This was easily the best hotel we have ever stayed in... we stayed for one night after visiting St. Emillion and having a vineyard tour at Chateau de Candale. The surroundings are stunning, and the hotel luxury is clear to see. It has strong 5 star quality, and we would definitely return. The welcome was friendly and professional. The food was absolutely delightful, as was the wine. The food is a la carte, but there are a few different menus depending on the time of your visitWe visited the spa and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere on a Friday morning. To top off a fantastic trip we then caught a taxi from the hotel to the town centre. The card machine was not working, and the taxi driver, rather than want to take us to a cash point for the fare, she offered the taxi ride for free. We were totally taken back by this as we knew this would never happen back in our local area in the UK!!! We insisted that we went to the Cash Point as the gesture was so kind and we wanted to pay. The area is 5 star, the hotel is 5 star and so is the friendly service. Thanks so much, we will return.

Good facilities, very comfortable, great reception, restaurant and wine bar staff. Dinner was superb with a wonderful outlook and brilliant staff.

Breakfast was disappointing, expected better, staff were less attentive than other staff, buffet choice was very poor, tinned fruit! We were not made aware of options available from the kitchen and one order was completely forgotten. I asked for poached eggs on toast with arrived on bread without butter. The position of the lift ruins the interior look of the chateau’s beautiful staircase

The room was good size with beautiful views of the vineyards. We had a corner room which was perfect and very private. The sunsets/sunrises from our terrace were spectacular. The staff were extremely nice and attentive. Everyone spoke English and didn’t make you feel bad for not speaking French. The hotel is very close to the beautiful town of San Emilion. We enjoyed many vineyard walks with our dogs and the proximity to town. The hotel is extremely pet friendly. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed delicious scrambled eggs. They were creamy and fluffy, just perfect! We had dinner at the restaurant once during our stay and we were very pleased with the service and food quality. Room service was also excellent and we enjoyed the comprehensive wine list. The comfortable spa was a nice surprise and we truly enjoyed the hot tub too. Would love to return during warmer weather to enjoy the pool.
