If I could rate this place higher than 10/10 I would… I hope that says it all! I booked this place simply because it was in a location I needed (between Bordeaux and the east), and because it looked calm and cosy. What I found was a tranquil retreat, family owned and run, where I was accepted warmly and made to feel part of the family. Check in was easy, and after id got settled I went out to the garden for a light supper before turning in. There were a few other guests that night in the dining room, but because the day was warm I thought id eat in the garden where they have lots of spaces to dine. Whilst slowly enjoying my supper, complete with a bottle of their own lightly sparkling wine (you have to try it!) Frederic the owner came over and we chatted about a bunch of stuff including family and wine production and how the weather was treating the grapes this year… We chatted for maybe half an hour or so… which I hope tells you that if you enjoy the slow life, and are open to spending time just enjoying and engaging, then you’ll love it here. The garden outside is tree shaded and faces West, so watching the sun set over the Dordogne River, it’s a beautiful thing. In terms of facilities etc, of course its a family run b and b, but the room and bed etc were excellent, and I slept soundly… and the breakfast in the morning was simple, but all the produce was fresh and of very good quality.
I have no complaints… this was a slice of paradise, and the antidote to a hectic day in Bordeaux.

From the moment we arrived we knew we’d found a special place to stay. The staff speak perfect English (even though we tried to practice our French), we had a great welcome and were shown around. The opted in for the wine tasting and had a really informative chat with the 5 wines we tried and then a delicious evening dinner with light bites by the river under shade of the trees. The swimming pool was super peaceful and the room very comfortable and spacious. Can’t fault a single thing. Can’t wait to come back with friends
The only thing would be to have a fan in the room during warmer nights.

This was the last stop of our trip and was a great ending to our trip. Amazing location in the middle of nature with a river just next to the chateau. Beautiful sunset at night. The rooms are modern and big, common spaces are beautiful with nice furniture that fits the theme. The owners are very nice and do everything to make sure you are well and welcomed. They have a small restaurant outside in the summer in the garden, food is very good. We have a free wine tasting on the day we arrived and breakfast is simple but very fresh and tasty !
The rooms might have been closed for a while, smells very woody.

Very cute modern house and vineyard. Easy to access by car and free parking. The house was big and good kitchen with living room. In kitchen you can find all necessary (fridge, pots, mug etc). You can also walk around vineyard. It is huge. The vine tasting and history of the place was fantastic . We enjoyed our stay and definitely will come back. In few room the bathroom was attached in room, but ours was in the end of hall and shower was in other floor.
There was 39C degree outside, there is no conditioner (this was mentioned also when we booked the room) but there was not eaven table fan, so the room was veery hot that day and night :).

Beautifully restored and furnished buildings. Beds are extremely comfortable. The swimming pool is very nice. The proprietor makes excellent organic wines. Breakfast is really good. All the food served is of a very high quality. The staff are very kind and welcoming. The chateau is in a beautiful setting by the Dordogne river.
It’s not a fault, but you need a car to access the property and also to have a dinner or lunch elsewhere.

The location is perfect for a romantic gateway. The rose and the wild garden make you immediately feel like you’re in a rural idyllic setting. The food is simple, fresh and incredibly tasty, all locally sourced from their farm or their neighbours. The beds are super comfortable, there are plenty of areas outside of the rooms to sit, play and relax. The wine is just amazing. We are looking forward to coming back.

Aside the river, beautiful old style castle Farmhouse. Wonderful place to return at night after a busy day sight seeing Bordeaux, about 40 minutes by car. Stayed 3 nights. At night (thurs, fri, sath) wine and tapas in the garden. Bio/ organic home made wines. Interesting tasting session. Nice family run place and we were very happy with early breakfast on day of leave. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Joint area big, tasteful and with fully equipped kitchen.

Beautiful surroundings - pool was brilliant. Rooms very clean.
The initial welcome on check in could have been friendlier- felt a bit like we were interrupting the gentleman on his computer. Was extremely hot when we were there - it does however make clear there is no air conditioning when booking but this is very tricky when temperatures reach 40 degrees.

Rural location on the banks of the Dordoigne river. Typical old rural vineyard with some of the old buildings converted into bed and breakfast accommodation. Bedrooms and communal rooms well appointed. Hosts very helpful and we especially enjoyed the tour of the vineyard and the free wine tasting that followed. We took the opportunity to buy some of the wines we tasted. Good simple French breakfast.
Nothing.

Incredible location and lovely house. Outstanding breakfast and wine tasting. The host told us a lot about the house history. It was peefect!
We had some problems to find it because we did not use the whole address. It is important to write the name of the village on google maps. LUGON. Otherwise it takes u somewhere else.
