EVERYTHING! I cannot think of enough good things to say about our stay at La Closerie de Fronsac. We had an exceptional week there. The owner Clément was fantastic! From answering my questions prior to arrival, to our included daily breakfast, to offering suggestions as to where we should go & what we should see on our daily outings. His dinner restaurant suggestions were spot on and he even went as far as calling a local chateau and making tour reservations for us. If we ever return to Bordeaux, we will certainly stay at La Closerie de Fronsac again. It is highly recommended. Keep in mind you have to carry your luggage upstairs, as there are no ground level rooms. Clément was present as I was bringing our suitcases down and he did assist me. Only the housekeeper was on site when we checked in, so I had to carry them up myself.
Not a thing.

Colourfully refurb'd/decorated traditionally-styled main family home of an up-and-coming wine maker. Our room was very warm, comfortable and had elegant bathroom facilities. The characterful chateau caters to a wide range of guests’ desires, with rooms that have been robustly renovated and are well appointed with all amenities you could reasonably want. As a package, this home base presents several options either to adventure around the St.Emilion/Pomerol region and sample so many excellent wineries plus local restaurants (in nearby Libourne) OR to spend quiet, contemplative time, relaxing in the lounge before a warm open fire. The family provide enthusiastic and dedicated hosting with clear experience in hospitality. Supremely accommodating and as an outstandingly obliging host, Clement was our main contact who maintained great communications. Nothing was too much trouble. He included a [free] wine tasting tour of their onsite production facilities, plus supplied helpful guidance about worthwhile vineyard alternatives to visit in the area. And, yes, their Clos Saint Michel Canon Fronsac wine is well-rated, and was delicious enough for us to buy several bottles. In-house dinner was available, but we already had reservations elsewhere. Very pleasant breakfast provided (even for our v.early departure). Such was the warmth and inclusive welcome of Clement, all guests felt able to get along so well. OVERALL, a highly positive visit. Great value hospitality for St.Émilion/Fronsac area.
No issues or complaints.

The host was very friendly, flexible and helpful. We were traveling with some family members so we had booked 3 rooms 5 nights. This was an excellent choice as from there we could visit a lot of places around without having to struggle with the parking and having to move every day. We even got a private wine tasting session that we very much enjoyed (at the property as the host is also a wine maker). I would definitely recommend this place and would gladly stay there again.

A very special, beautiful and lovely place surrounded by calm nature and vineyards. The owner - Clement- is an amazing and charming host, who really wants his guests to feel at home. He build a special and spectacular place, beautifully decorated and such a lovely ambiance, especially the breakfast! Huge and spacious room, a few bugs but that's normal in the middle of vineyards :)
Nothing, very beautiful place!

Very beautiful location in the middle of the wine fields. Staff very friendly, they paid attention to every detail to make our stay confortable. The owner showed us his winery and explained about the wine production process. He provided detailed information about the surrounding villages, restaurants, etc. The hotel has traditional furniture and interior design.

Very good if you use the tram to get into Bordeaux and have a car to get to the tram. Tram station is a couple of miles away from the hotel and a very convenient way to get into town.
The first clerk was not very helpful about restaurants (could only suggest three that were either unavailable or not in the center of the city), and there are MANY, we discovered, wonderful restaurants in the heart of Bordeaux. Here are two with an incredible, friendly staff and delicious food at a reasonable price: Racines and Zephirine.

This place is near St. Emilion but out in the country. It sits between the vineyards so it's very quiet at night. The inn is an old house so it's very charming and there are lots of antiques. The bed was comfortable. Our room had very big closets to store our things. Breakfast and dinner were good. It was easy to access Libourne and Bordeaux while we were there. The host gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and sights to see.
It was very warm while we there but it cooled down at night so it was comfortable to sleep, except we got lots of mosquito bites. We normally are not bothered by mosquitoes so it was a surprise to us too.

We stayed at La Closerie de Fronsac for one night but we wished it would have been more. The chateau is beautiful, filled with gorgeous antiquities. The estate is amazing, in the middle of lush vineyards. The host, Clément, is really helpful and friendly. He gave us some tips of where to go in the area, which made for the perfect afternoon itinerary (the beautiful village of Saint Émillion nearby). When we came back, Clément gave us a tour of the wine cellar and let us taste some of the delicious self-produced wines. In the evening, we enjoyed an amazing, home-cooked dinner outside, which was the best ever! The room was super comfy and clean too, with everything you need for a good night’s rest. The breakfast the next day was super delicious as well! It was our dream of staying on a vineyard and staying at La Closerie de Fronsac went above our expectations! Thank you so much Clément!

The location is 10 stars. You will see a working vineyard right outside your room window. It is so quiet and peaceful. Best nights sleep ever! I will go back for longer next time. Breakfast was also amazing. Fresh croissants, coffee and eggs any style. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the price was per night. The owner was there and very laid back and helpful.
That I couldn’t stay longer!

The hotel was very homely. Our host was very attentive without being obtrusive. The room was immaculately clean, with everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. Fan & mosquito diffuser in the wardrobe if needed. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Our host cooked for us one night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cheese platter was amazing!! The view of the vineyard was beautiful. We loved the private wine tour of the hosts cellar. The wine was superb 👌 The resident cat was adorable 😍
