After what could only be described as a monumental trip from Malta to Bordeaux via Frankfurt, it was such a delight to finally arrive in this beautiful chambre d'hote in Libourne. Our host was so welcoming and so accommodating, despite multiple messages, a 40 minute flight delay, lost luggage and traffic chaos. This was the calm in an otherwise disastrous day. The bedroom was delightful and beautifully appointed, and having a whole floor to yourself was such a bonus. We had been travelling since 3:00am, arriving at 20:45, so having a great dinner at a local restaurant 3 minutes walk away, followed by a wonderful night's sleep and such a delightful breakfast - was just the icing on the cake to this wonderful experience. We would definitely return, and recommend Laurence and her chambre d'hotes.

Laurence is a gracious and welcoming hostess whose hospitality was so generously kind. There are so many beautiful and much to be admired artistic touches. As extolled by many other reviewers, the breakfast is exquisitely presented with a delicious choices and just so good. What a welcome to the day! Our room (purple painted wall) was quiet, spacious and with a bed that was so comfortable with very nice bed linen. The shower was excellent (never got round to using the slipper style bath). The house is so conveniently located for the centre and rail and bus station. Would recommend and is somewhere we would choose to stay should we return.

This is a beautiful and thoughtfully cared for historic home in the perfect location between the train station and the center. Our host, Laurence was amazing—flexible, kind, very responsive prior to and during our stay. The rooms in the main house are light filled and artfully arranged with comfy beds and roomy showers, windows opening on to the garden, very peaceful. The studio is self contained with everything you need to prepare simple meals, comfy bed, roomy bathroom and windows that open on to the flower-filled garden, where a delightful sitting area beckons. And the breakfasts are amazing! A different hot dish every day, accompanied by delicious cheeses, pastries, fruits, sauces and condiments, coffee or tea and freshly squeezed orange juice, elegantly presented in the dining room at the hour we preferred. This was one of our most charming stays ever, highly recommended.

Amazing! The property itself is fantastic and the decor is beautiful. The room is more than ample for 2 with all the facilities you need. There is water, snacks and coffee. The bathroom is opulent. Amazing bath and shower. There are toiletries too. The detail at breakfast is unmatched. We sat in the garden and were treated so well. The food was fantastic and the service even better. There is on road parking available at minimal cost. 10 minutes walk to the river and town.

A fan in the room would have made the night more comfortable as it was very warm.

Our host was wonderful. She was very friendly. The breakfasts were exceptional. The location to the town centre was very good, within easy walking distance.

Our only complaint was the towels were very stiff and hard. Also a little threadbare.

Our hostess was charming, breakfast was superb and beautifully laid out in a dining room lit with illuminated sculptures, antique glasses full of freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit arranged as a still life - all lovely. The downstairs deco is wonderful and quirky. Fabulous and fun.

Our bathroom was a little tired but the shower worked well.

Our host was fantastic and she even helped us work out the car parking meter outside the front of her guest house. The whole house is very well presented and her artistic side really shines through in the decor and even how breakfast is presented. Location was excellent and we used the train to get into Bordeaux.

Beautiful home, eco and artsy with a gorgeous garden and shared living space. Our host was wonderful and welcoming. She was helpful and went out of her way to make sure feel welcome. The facilities were perfect, clean and everything you needed. Location was excellent to walk into town for a bite it eat.

It was a good location with plenty of local amenities. The room was a good size and beautifully decorated. Laurence was a great host and breakfast was a real delight.

Hard to complain as it was a fantastic place. We arrived in a heatwave 40degrees for several days so no air conditioning was difficult but there was a fan which helped.

Beautiful house, nicely decorated with a personal and artistic touch. The bed was very comfortable, I slept like a princess. The owner is very friendly and the breakfast was amazing, probably the best breakfast I ever had in France.
