This is a special place. We have now stayed here twice. The restaurant setting, staff and food are excellent. I can’t remember eating better food. Our first floor room (7) was comfortable with a separate loo and powerful shower, however it wasn’t very big. Next time we will go for a larger ground floor room. Tremolat is a lovely village. Also make sure you make your restaurant and bistro bookings in advance.
The hotel also has a bistro on the village square. We had eaten there before and I was looking forward to it. I had a lunchtime booking on our day of arrival but the traffic from Bordeaux was very slow. We arrived at 1.40 to be told that the kitchen closed at 1.30. How about a 2.00 close? Closing a restaurant kitchen at 1.30 is a difficult concept for an Englishman to grasp!

The room was modern, very clean and comfortable. The building itself was very old, probably hundreds of years old, and the downstairs sitting room and bar were unique in shape a configuration, reminiscent of another time period. The outside gardens and pool is really beautiful and a cool respite from the hot weather. The town is very small with a few restaurants. We only had dinner at the restaurant and not the breakfast. The hotel is very close to Saint Emilion which is a beautiful medieval city worth exploring on foot. It was a good location to make driving trip to Lascaux and Sarlat, both not to be missed.
We did not feel the meal or service during the dinner at the hotel was comparable at all to other Michelin star restaurants like the nearby La Table de Pavie.

Good breakfast, great dinner, all the compliments to the chef and your young head waiter also. Excellent. The location, your building, the service, the gardens, really great. Emilie and Sarah at the reception were very kind and we felt very welcome. Estelle was a very gracious host and her attention to detail and feeling for quality and cosines is visible in everything.
the/ your bistro in town ..is not as good as it could be, the presentation of the dishes is very refined, but you know that it's not hard to eat very well in your region. Taste comes first, before presentation and looks , especially in a bistro. In my opinion

We’ve stayed here to celebrate our anniversary for the past couple of years. The rooms are excellent and the whole ambiance of the hotel is superb. The restaurant is first class and although not the cheapest is worth every penny. The staff are great and cater for your every need. All in all it is a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful gardens and main building in a lovely village and great location
Our room (number 5) in a building separate from the main hotel was cold a bit damp and rather dingy.

Ok the village is quite small and there is not a lot to see. But the Vieux Logis is simply splendid and worth the cost of the stay. We had a less opulent room but entirely adequate and the grounds are magnificent - dining areas, pool and gardens. The staff is very helpful and attentive. We did not have dinner at the 1 star hotel restaurant as well we are just not into multi-course, multi wine meals, but if that's your thing, the menu with all wines is a real bargain. The petit dejeuner is superb and not to miss. We will come back
We liked it all

From several châteaux and grand restaurants during this week (and there were some very "grand") Le Vieux Logis presented the most perfect balance between location, food and service and you could tell they are among the most experienced if not the first in this business.
Trémolat is not next door. From our itinerary from La Rochelle to Burgundy, it implied a large detour which at the beginning is not necessarily very scenic. The whole experience at the Le Vieux Logis in its pittoresque surroundings however made the trip extremely worthwhile.

Beautiful grounds, very welcoming and friendly staff, and in a lovely town. Great amenities, aircon, products. We felt well looked after. Would recommend for a quiet and cosy stay.
Nothing! The hotel and hotel staff were lovely. Would note that we had dinner on the grounds at the Michelin star restaurant one night - the food was very nice, but the service wasn’t as hospitable as we have had at other fine dining experiences.
