Beautiful classic hotel in a picture perfect Burgundy village. Breakfast expensive (especially for us with the weak Canadian dollar 🤣) but plentiful and of good quality. We had a family suite (two interconnected rooms with bathrooms) which was very spacious.

Sadly the restaurant is closed on Mon/Tues, although there are other dining options in the village. Google told us several of those restaurants were closed too, but when we actually arrived in the village they were open! So don’t trust Google!

The hotel is beautifully and centrally located in Vézelay, offering great views on the surrounding landscape from the rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the welcome bottle of champagne offered by the hotel was very much appreciated. The room was spacious and comfortable, also featuring a 'walk-in' closet, and the private parking slot that could be booked was very handy.

While the breakfast was rich and included a wide range of sweet and savoury options, some of them (yoghurt, cold cuts, etc.) disappeared quickly and trays were not always refilled timely. The coffee machine was very slow and kept running out of milk. Prices in the hotel bar were slightly exaggerated.

Location, close to the famous Romanesque basilica at Vezelay. The reception staff were wonderful! The restaurant was open for our first night, and the food was very good. We also visited the nearby Chateau Bazoches (home to the great French military engineer Vauban), and it was just super.

On our second night (a Monday), there seemed to be no restaurants open in Vezelay despite there being lots of them, and we had to drive 15 km each way to Avallon to get something to eat.

Beautiful hotel just on the bottom of the steep hill in Vézelay. Nice comfortable terras outside and inside the bar there is great seating too. Bedding and pillows comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Especially the gentlemen when we arrived. He immediately helped with our luggage and showed us where to store our bicycles. Because their restaurant was closed he even made a reservation for us at another place in town. Great service all around.

Lovely hotel at the entrance of the old town. Very charming and confortable.

The light of the air conditioned was too flashy, really disturbing and there was no way of switching it off.

The hotel was ideally located in Vezelay, with a 10min walk uphill through the village to the church, a very beautiful place. Family room at top of hotel was a good size .Breakfast was good, with the best fresh orange juice I had tasted during time in France. Went to a restaurant next door for evening meal which was good valve for money .The car park had limited spaces, so we parked in the public car park outside the front of the hotel for 6euros per day. Vezelay is a lovely village and worth a stop over .

Beautifully French in appearance. Our room was great- comfy bed and fabulous bathroom with the best shower. Ideally placed for the town and restaurants. We were unfortunately there in a Monday and their restaurant was closed , however, we ate at a restaurant across the road which was great. The breakfast here was excellent with everything you could wish for.

No outdoor Swimming pool

Lovely, quiet rooms with great views - to the town at the front, and the countryside at the back (we had 2 rooms). Staff superb, superb beds, easy parking (€6 overnight), good location. Quiet at night, but rooms to the front get traffic all night, ok with windows shut.

breakfast a bit pricey, so didn't use, nor the hotel restaurant. Restaurants fill up easily in town, better to book ahead.

Hotel is nice and we had a great view up to the abbey. On the night we stayed the restaurant was closed but we went to the closest one next door, A La Fortune du Pot which was good. There is public parking in front and beside the hotel which costs €6 for 24 hours.

We did not eat or have breakfast but not sure we would have eaten in the restaurant even if it had been open because there are barely any non-meat items which is a real shame in 2024.

Elegant, spacious bathroom, deep closets and a panoramic view of the countryside from my room. Staff were all gracious and helpful. The location is perfect. It is surrounded by natural beauty and historic buildings. Vezelay and the this area of Burgundy is truly beautiful. Everyone I encountered was friendly and generous with their time.

My single room was on a level one flight of stairs above the level serviced by the elevator - not shocking, given the age, size and layout of the building. The concierge graciously brought my large suitcase up that last flight of stairs. When one of the maids saw me (a lady of a certain age), trying to hoist it down to check out, she kindly brought my suitcase down to the elevator. What at first seemed like an inconvenience turned out to be an opportunity for me to see how kind and professional the staff are at this lovely hotel.
