Our overwater bungalow was beautiful and a really romantic setting. Lots of beautiful fish on the reef and rays often visible. Yumi at the dive shop was really helpful and attentive. Good spread at breakfast. Would recommend hiring bikes for a day to get out and see the island. You can find hidden ears outside of the resort.

Dinner options are limited at the resort itself. You can eat better outside of the resort and for a cheaper price in Maharepa, which you can get to by taxi or bike.

A more beautiful spot can’t be found: THE classic spot on Moorea. Rooms and facilities are spectacular and comfy. Whether you’re in a garden, beachfront or “over water” hut, you’re only steps away from spectacular snorkeling and the gorgeous waters

For an international resort, they need to have more / better trained staff who are fully competent in English. But, it’s a minor consideration. Also, as so much in Polynesia is cash based, the front desk really should have French Polynesian Francs available for exchange, or a local bank ATM in the lobby.

This resort has a fantastic location on the beach with prime snorkeling right outside your door! The amenities were top notch, making this a place where you can just relax and enjoy yourself. There were good views of the sunrise every morning. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. Free snorkeling equipment is also provided for the duration of your stay. They also have showers and changing rooms available if you arrive before checkin, allowing you to start taking advantage of the resort earlier.

The lighting in the shower of our bungalow was very poor. We also had a lizard sneak into the bungalow, but that was likely because we left the French doors open to enjoy the weather outside. There was also only one table and one chair in the room, which was a bit inconvenient if you are trying to stay in and eat a meal of something. More luggage racks would also be appreciated.

We stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon trip and it was magical. Staying in one of their overwater bungalows, we were transformed into paradise, with direct access to the lagoon where there were so many different type of fish (size colour and type!) for us to snorkel around and explore. The resort itself also has a private beach, spa, three restaurants and two bars. There is also opportunities to do water sports and this is the closest resort, to the ferry station, with overwater bungalows. The staff were incredible and we couldn’t have asked for better memories from our honeymoon. Thank you for everything - we hope to see you again in the future

Room location - when booking I had understood that the room would have an ocean view whereas it turned our to have a land view which while, very pretty, was not what I had wanted. The ability to see a map of the rooms on Booking com and select the appropriate location rather than the appropriate category of room would have been helpful.

The receptionists are not nice, they are not prepared for the job. We got there early after a 24 hours flight and we wanted to have a shower and change and they did not tell us that there is a bathroom and changing cabins next to the reception. Plus we asked to checkin earlier since the previous guests left early that day and they did not communicate with the cleaners to ask them to do our room...I also guess there is a shortage of cleaners in the hotel. Another important fact is that the "activity desk" is horrible: they lie about the availability of the activities to push you to do whatever they want and for a higher price. You are better of buying the activities elsewhere.

The Sofitel was very nice. We rented a bungalow for two nights. We loved being able to go snorkel right from our deck. The beach area the Sofitel is located on is the best whhite sand beach on the island. The coral reef preservation in that area is wonderful and so many fish to see. Don't hesitate to splurge on a few nights here. We did not eat much at the hotels restaurants. Breakfast was a very good spread. We choose to drive to local resturants all over the area for other meals.

Beautiful and very comfortable resort. The beach is wonderful for shade and snorkeling. The bungalows are clean, beautiful and comfortable with very soft sheets and high quality pillows. When it rains the covered deck is ideal for sitting in and enjoying the garden views and storm.

Being trapped with only the resort food. Breakfast is fine, but dinner is overpriced for the quality.

Overwater bungalows were amazing. Snorkelling straight from my bungalow is something I will never forget. Every type of accommodation looked great. The staff were super helpful and professional, they made you feel really special. The refill of the mini bar, housekeeping and a turn down service was exceptional.

All the restaurants were a little pricey and shops and grocery stores where a taxi ride away.
